2 out of 5 eggsGets the job done, but not without issues

Pros: Reasonably priced FX board for the budget AMD build. One of the only boards that can power AMD's "Space heater" (fx9590).
Lots of case fan outputs and easily manageable software for controlling ramp up speeds.
Overclocking is easy and works well (sort of).
Lots of USB ports

Did I mention it is cheap?

Cons: -No M.2 Compatibility. I just went through the headache of buying a PCI-E M.2 SSD, only to find out that this specific motherboard does not like them. For some reason, ASUS decided that when you use a PCI-E storage device, it would be a great idea to completely disable SATA for all other storage devices...therefore making it impossible to boot into an OS, and subsequently leading to installation issues on the M.2 drive also.

-FX9590 owners constantly have problems trying to maintain stability with this board. Hell it took me a good 3 weeks just to get my system stable enough to where it wouldn't lock up on Fallout 4.
I've had to lower my factory clock speeds on my FX9590 down to 4.6Ghz and turn the VCORE and NB voltage way down. On top of that, I had to disable turbo core, and pretty much every auto overclocking feature built into the motherboard. This is specifically a problem for FX9590 owners. If you use the FX8xxx processors, you can just overclock it to the point of being an FX9590 without any issues.

So i'll address the FX9590 issues first, and hopefully someone on google will come across this review and find something helpful.
1. Turn your vcore voltage down. Make it 1.3 to be safe. I can guarantee you that factory settings will inevitably lead to stability issues after a few weeks. By then your CPU is probably damaged so your threshold for overclocking and stability will be greatly reduced like mine was. The stock VCORE settings will ramp it up past 1.5v under load. In memory+cpu intensive games like Fallout 4 this can cause the system to hang/lock up entirely during loading or saving.

2. Disable all auto overclocking and power saving features.

3. Lower your clock speed below factory speeds to about 4.5Ghz and work your way back up until you've achieved stability in Prime95. If you don't know what you're doing or how to accomplish this, then don't buy this motherboard with an FX9590. Get the FX8xxx's instead and save yourself some Advil.

-RAM. This motherboard says it supports 1866mhz DDR3, but I haven't been able to get it to operate above 1600mhz. I'm running 16GB corsair vengence 1866mhz RAM. Not a big deal 90% of the time, but for games like Fallout 4 which rely heavily on RAM speed, this will slow you down. In fact, if you plan on playing Fallout 4, don't buy this motherboard at all. You'll have nothing but problems like I did and it will just bottleneck your experience.

Other Thoughts: I'd still recommend this for the other 98% of games out there. It is reasonably priced, and I do like the fact that I can do 3 way crossfire without a huge bottleneck (thanks to AMD'S Hypertransport).

Overall it is good, but I've had nothing but problems with it. I would return it but at this point it would be a waste of time. I'll wait until AMD releases their Zen CPU's and then rebuilt.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic board

Pros: -HUGE VRM heatsink and very good mosfets
-Lots of SATA ports
-Spectacular overclocker
-Easy to use BIOS

Cons: -PCIE port not usable because its directly below the first GPU slot. Seriously ASUS, nobody buying this board is going to install a single slot GPU.
-Had to RMA one when the onboard audio went out and none of the PCIE 2.0 slots would function any faster than x4

Other Thoughts: First board went out, RMA'd got a new board back in 2 weeks and this one seems fine so far. Am running a FX8350 at 5.2ghz with a big AIO rock solid stable with this thing. The VRM heatsink is HUGE on this thing and the mosfets are real high quality. I do not have socket temp issues overclocking with this board that I did with the M5A99FX this replaced. Plenty of features and I don't need the PCIE slot under the first X16 slot so that's not really a huge deal. TBTH, this board is overkill if you are going to run at stock speeds with a FX8320 or 8350 and save some $$$ with the M5A99FX if that is the case but if you are trying to max out your CPU then this is the board for you.

5 out of 5 eggsTotally Reliable!

Pros: I love this motherboard. I have purchased three of these for people I have built rigs for. I have had zero problems. Great overclocking. Awesome features.

Cons: I wish it supported higher memory clock speeds

Other Thoughts: I have ver. 1.0 and have had no problems with it for three years. I have the 8150 Bulldozer 3.6 processor with the Corsiar H110i GTX cooling it. It runs stable at 4.7 Ghz. During testing it never gets over 59c.

I am going to get myself one of the ver 2.0 boards with a Vishera 9590 as soon as they are back in stock. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MOBO.

5 out of 5 eggs990fx killed it

Pros: HEAVY - feels tough in weight alone.
Paired with a fx 6300 4.3 o.c.
corsair 16gb 2400ghz
evo 240's
xfire 7850
corsair ax760i

pretty mean budget machine, friends pleased. filled his gaming needs for the upcoming wow expansion.

Cons: really none. Asus has always impressed me with quality components. ran a 939 A*N-SLI for 6 years nearly 24/7, never crashed, board still works today.

Other Thoughts: buy asus. buy good parts. use newegg, and get quick shipping, and awesome customer service.

1 out of 5 eggsDead and Beautiful

Pros: Looks really nice, solid build. Will look awesome once I nail it to the wall.

Cons: None. Great home decoration piece for the price. Really makes a statement that I have great taste and can spend money on useless things.

Other Thoughts: DOA. CPU light goes red, fans spin, no POST. Sent board for RMA. Received the SAME board back, no explanations, no signs of repair, just some dirt on it. Hook it up - DOA. Tested CPU on different mobo, tested with another power supply. All evidence points to faulty mobo. ASUS, you suck. I am trying second RMA, but then it goes on the wall.
