1 out of 5 eggsPoor form, Asus just lost a customer.

Pros: When on one of it's 2 hours working stints it is great.
Just don't walk away from the desk.

Cons: Easily the worst experience I have had in my 10 years as a system builder. Purchased combo deal from Newegg, first found out that Crucial sent out a bad batch of RAM. After installing new batch had same issues. The motherboard would boot windows 7, and then after a certain amount of time go into a permanent sleep mode. This was only fixed by a hard reset. Due to the large amount of bad parts sent out, I spent several months of RMAs and part swapping, to a point that all warranties are off. It is terrible that Asus made such a lousy product and then refused to acknowledge their mistake. (As evidenced by other's reviews on this site) The first machine I ever built was back in 2004. It was an Asus board. I have been recommending Asus products to friends and companies that I work for. I will no longer make that mistake. It is a shame that they lost a 10 year customer along with all those I refer parts too.

Other Thoughts: Errors were never rectified.
Switched power supplies.
Switched RAM.
Updated each component's driver to a level newer than Asus's driver page displayed.

2 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: I like ASUS, always have. Simple layout, and decent features for the price.

Cons: Well like others have stated, this particular one I got has issues.
At first it was no video(swapped different monitors, different cables...etc). USB ports didn't work either, my keyboard LEDs wouldn't even light up.
Now I go back to fill out an RMA and see that it's no longer available.. AAaaah Bummer :/

Other Thoughts: I've been using ASUS MoBo's for years. This is the first time I've had issues. Looks like I'm not the only one. I'll probably go with a different ASUS product

4 out of 5 eggssolid

Pros: Cheap, well made

Cons: 2 memory slots, no hdmi

Other Thoughts: I originally had a problem with no display or post. Later discovered that the MB is rather finicky with the CPU seating. Took a couple tries, but finally got the MB happy.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat, but ONLY 3 GB/s SATA!!

Pros: Great features for the price, all in a micro ATX. Good documentation and supporting software, as always...can't argue with ASUS.

Cons: The SATA is only 3 GB/s...I can't believe they still make boards with that! Or maybe I'm just upset at myself for missing that. At least this is fixable with a pci-e card.

Other Thoughts: Could also use USB 3.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: For the most part I like the layout; and with only a couple exceptions; works as advertised. Decent quality for a decent price.

Cons: Both VGA and DVI ports non functioning out of the box, seems im not the only one with this issue. However, I had an old video card on hand, and am using this for a headless server - so no great loss to me. (I did expect better from ASUS though these things do happen..)

Other Thoughts: ASUS has always been my trusted name for motherboards, it should be noted that this is the first product from ASUS in my many years I have ever had an issue with.

Also, the 4pin 12v is at the very top of the board, so bare this in mind if using a bottom mounted PSU.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Support

Pros: Nice Box

Cons: Bad memory slot, very poor support from ASUS, returned to NewEgg for refund. Glad I bought product through NewEgg.com, they always treat me well!!!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your review.

I am sorry the motherboard arrived DOA. Our motherboards have a very low failure rate, and it is rare for this to happen. With that said, I hope that this experience does not deter you from purchasing another ASUS product in the future. I am glad, however, that the RMA process went smoothly.

Should you have any questions about ASUS or our products, please do not hesitate to let me know. Your reference number is 3007483.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Entry Level Board

Pros: I had no issues with this board but I must caveat that one MUST go to the Memory Config page of Newegg or go to the Asus site for memory compatibility. The issues some are having is directly related to the memory they bought. The board is very nice with UEFI bios and simple to operate. I don't consider this a powerhouse board but with an A-series and adding an AMD 6500 or higher video, it is quite respectable. I like the build quality and this board is a good entry to mid-level board.

Cons: RAM must be spec'd out. Do your homework and you'll have no issues. I have had NO problems but the machine came as a combo item, so it better work, right?

Other Thoughts: Got this board and an AMD-A45300 for a client that just basically browses the Interwebs and does some light video DVD/Blue Ray. There's a great combo here with this setup and I am actually trying to talk another customer into it. NewEgg did a very good job with the combo with $20 in rebates.
