ASUS proudly announces its new server board, the Z9PA-D8, based on the Intel® E5-2600 + C602 PCH platform. The board integrates versatile features into a compact 12in. x 10in. size which allows this board to fit into an ATX chassis. Through an innovative and top-notch engineering design, this board is able to support dual Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 processors up to 135W CPU. With a perfectly developed thermal solution in a 1U rack mount, this system may support up to a 115W CPU.
The Z9PA-D8 server board supports dual Intel® Xeon® server processors in a 12in. x 10in. compact size with an ATX foot print. The specially-made chassis further ensures that customers can benefit from up-to-date server technologies within an affordable budget.
The Z9PA-D8 supports dual Intel® Xeon E5-2600 series CPUs with all-range including the support of advanced 135W CPUs. System builders can choose between advanced, mainstream, and basic processors for all market segments. By supporting different processor and memory types, the Z9PA-D8 helps customers to build up a wide range of servers and workstation builds to meet different price ranges based on customer demand.
The Z9PA-D8 is the only 12in. x 10in. form factor board available on the market with dual PCI Express 3.0 x16 expansion slots. With the ASUS innovative Flex-E technology, the Z9PA-D8 server boards intelligently split or aggregate the link to support up to four true PCI Express 3.0 X8 slots or two X16 slots. With exclusive features, the Z9PA-D8 may serve as a powerful server board, or combine the 7.2-channel MIO-892 audio card to create a workstation.
The optional ASUS PIKE provides multiple storage options, and direct SAS/SATA RAID upgrades can be achieved via a unique slot -- without sacrificing expansion capability. The Z9PA-D8 boosts the built-in PIKE slot with PCI-E Gen 3 which ensures the best bandwidth link to process low latency to support high-performance storage devices over SAS/SATA. A 6Gbps interface also ensures a future SAS 12Gbps PIKE card has a high uplink to host adequate bandwidth.
Users can easily upgrade their storage solution from entry-level to high-end. For example, the entry PIKE 9230 RAID card can expand to four extra SATA 6Gbps ports for entry-level needs while the latest PIKE 2208 RAID card adopts an LSI dual-core I/O processor that can support SAS 6Gbps ports with outstanding performance for the high I/O transaction demands of database and datacenter applications.
The Z9PA-D8 is the first Dual Intel® E5-2600 server board with USB 3.0 support. The new USB 3.0 IO technology provides 10 times the bandwidth as compared against USB 2.0.
All-new digital CPU power controls work perfectly together to match digital power signal (SVID) requests from the CPU, with ultra-fast sensing and response efficiently delivering precision power. Accurate delivery reduces waste and provides more stable CPU Vcore voltages. The Z9PA-D8 voltage regulation manages up to 90% peak power efficiency, with 85%+ during most normal operation. This ensures high power efficiency for the entire system to help customers save on electrical bills.
The ASMB6-iKVM upgrade kit enables dashboard system health monitoring, remote power on/off and control, virtual media over LAN, and management LAN fail-over support. In addition, the ASMB6 function is based on BIOS-level access, so even if the server's operating system is down or offline, the KVM module can still provide round-the-clock remote monitoring and diagnosis through a user-friendly web-based graphical interface through all major browsers. ASWM Enterprise software provides one-to-multiple centralized management including BIOS flash, remote control, power control through a colorful, graphical, and informative interface.
