3 out of 5 eggsEh

Pros: Works well with latest APU's, looks like it's built well

Cons: PXE booting is very hard as there is no support for the legacy PXE boot, only UEFI, which makes it hard to use with Windows deployment services

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't buy it again...Do yourself a favor and spring for the "pro" version instead

2 out of 5 eggsBroken Ethernet and Not Compatible with Windows 8.1 Pro

Pros: Accepts latest AMD A10 processor

Cons: The Ethernet NIC was DOA ... dead on arrival.

Does not have a TPM module for Bitlocker to work in Windows 8/8.1 Pro ... so NO encryption.

Other Thoughts: Can not recommend.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Most buyers want a well made, reliable product, and really don't care much about the fringes and extras. For those that fall into the category... this is well designed, easy to use and install, and you get exactly what you thought you were getting. I would buy another one.

Cons: I didn't get it on sale. Nothing else bad to say.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid board

Pros: Solid board. Easy to use features. Easy install.

Cons: The ram slots could be a little further from CPU socket to accommodate aftermarket cooling.

Other Thoughts: Good all round board so far.

3 out of 5 eggsOk MO

Pros: Easy install and great features. I hook this up and it took with no issues (well no issues I could blame the board for)

Cons: After only a month my LAN port is not working at all. Its the only thing that went wrong and to be honest it would be more of a hassle taking my rig apart and send it back then to buy a $12 card. Not happy that this one little thing made me take away eggs.

Other Thoughts: Love ASUS but this is the first time I had a poor taste in my month with a part they made. I will still buy ASUS but I guess no manufacturer can be perfect.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Nice Board, Has everything that I need and works well.

Cons: The one i bought had a problem with the anti-surge. It would go off all the time and restart my computer. Had to flash the bios to get it to work properly.

Other Thoughts: If you buy it flash the bios as soon as you can.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy--nothing but trouble

Pros: Lots of features. Love the ability to charge my iPad 4th Gen thru USB. EFI BIOS is also great. Easy installation.

Cons: Been having issues since day 1 and fighting with Asus support (run by Pegatron, not Asus). MB has horrible buzzing from CPU area, which only goes away if I disable ALL power management in BIOS and in Windows. CHA2_FAN header powers fans, but gives 0 RPM reading, USB3.0 disables when I plug in USB3.0 devices. Even though I paid $129.99 for my board, Asus wants to hold $160 on my credit card (and have me take all risk for shipping) to do an "express RMA". The other option is to send the board to them--at my expense, have them test it, and risk it being gone for 3+ weeks--only to get it back with no repairs or defect found. Looking at other manufacturers for a replacement board. I suggest the same for anyone looking at this slab of trash.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear that you are having an issue with your board. These are options we are providing you if you want to have the least downtime of your system. If you are not worried about loosing downtime, then yes please send the unit in for service.

Unfortunately our honest customers have to pay because of dishonest customers not returning their defective boards in the past. This is why we ask for collateral of your credit card number. Your credit card won't be billed right away if you use a regular card. If you use a debit card, they will remove funds as soon as the same day. Please check with your bank regarding policy.

If you have any questions or comments you can email me at cl-jeffrey@asus.com which I reside in the U.S

ASUS strives to meet and exceeds our customer expectations within our warranty policy.

Regards,

Jeffrey
