1 out of 5 eggsBad product ASUS

Pros: Mother Board Died after only 6 weeks.
USB 3 failure.
After 30 days still waiting for replacement board.
ASUS is really bad about calling you .
If you want to know what's going on you must call them.

Cons: buy somewhere else.

1 out of 5 eggsI used to trust Asus

Pros: Pretty colors.

Cons: Ordered this board to pair with FX-6300. When I first installed it, the system booted to BIOS, but hung there with a keyboard error. After trying 5 different keyboards, it finally accepted one. I shut it down yesterday and it refuses to boot past BIOS again, because it can't recognize a keyboard. Tried a combination of 4 known working keyboards (USB and PS/2) but no luck. Garbage. To make things worse, ASUS "customer service" plays a game called Email Us Through A Web Form and Wait 48 Hours for a Response.

1 out of 5 eggsterribly slow -- a dud or a garbage board

Pros: Cheap, but you get what you pay for!
I needed a microATX board for a portable system. I use ASRock 970 EXTREME4 AM3+ that is too large as a board. I bought this board and switched all components to this board. It is just a slow board.

Cons: Slow with AMD Phenom II x4 when multithreading. The ASRock board performed great until I moved the components to this microATX to realize that it is really comparatively slow when multitasking even with basic X11 windowing w/o running any computational processes.
The monitoring always showed that all 4 cores are active. This does not show at all with the ASRock board!

Other Thoughts: This board cause slowness overall with AMD Phenom II X4 955. The testing was done by using a dedicated graphics card XFX Radeon 677X, and onboard graphics was disabled, onboard parallel/serial port and all other IO ports where disabled.
It is just a slow board.
I had to switch back to ASRock 970 EXTREME4 AM3+ that is super fast compared to this one.

This is a dud that deserve no egg.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Micro-ATX board

Pros: As small boards go, this is pretty nice. I put in an AMD 4300, 8 GB of Crucial RAM, into a nice, compact InMan case, I threw in an SSD, loaded PCBSD and it's a heck of a compact desktop and really fast for under $350.... The board has 4 DIMM slots so I can expand at any time.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: In the last 10 years, I've seen complaints about ASUS boards.... Honestly, I never deviate... I've only had one issue with one board of the over 100 I've bought.... a single, bad USB port.... They replaced the board.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: The price was real nice and i think that's what drew me to it along with free shipping cause i have a micro atx only case and this was the only one i could find with 4 ram slots that was mirco atx

Cons: I installed this board in as soon as i got it with the FX-8320 Eight-Core and i hooked it up and put it in my case and the green light on the motherboard lit up so i put the case side back on and plugged back in my psu and it wouldn't start.

I tried many many things to try and fix it and even came back here to read the bad reviews on how it wouldn't start and remove the jumper and put it back in .....ect and nothing worked, so i took it all apart and put it on a wood table and thought it was my ram so i removed all 4 sticks and tried one at a time in different slots and nothing worked so i tried other ram i had and nothing.

I also tried other Atx power supplies in this mobo and nothing, now i gotta take out my newly bought CPU and return this mobo and get my money back and get the ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS and a new case here on newegg.

i'm really disappointed that this didn't work out of the box for me as i am a 3d artist and animator and needed something that would be cheap and work with this 8 core i had and it didn't work and i need a computer to do my work.

Plus i really hate installing after market thermal paste as it is the only thing i feel i'll ever screw up on building my pc's so that is why i only use the cpu cooler that comes with the CPU, so this is gonna be a pain for me to take off clean and buy thermalpaste and then reapply it. So thank you ASUS for screwing up this motherboard.

Other Thoughts: So what else can i say about this well don't buy this without reading the bad reviews there seems to be way to many people saying it's DOA and they are very true,i love asus stuff my harddrives, blu ray drive and video card are all asus so is my monitors but when it came to this i was really really disappointed so i'm glad i found this out while i was still in the 30 day window for return.

O and never ever buy something that is for this low of price without first reading the 1 egg reviews there is way to many on this board not to be skeptical about it.

5 out of 5 eggsASUS M5A78-M/USB3 AM3+

Pros: Great motherboard, It ran very well the first time i turned it on, with installed 16 gigs of kingston 1600 hyperX genises ram. / AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-core 3.5GHZz (4.1GHz Turbo) processor. / 500 GB hard drive. Was able to load windows,drivers,anti-virus all without any problems I.Love this board.

Cons: None so for.

Other Thoughts: I've built several ASUS "intel" motherboards over the years, and have always had great success. I decided to build an ASUS "AMD" motherboard system and am very glad that i did. Plan to build three more.

4 out of 5 eggsGood budget motherboard

Pros: Worked with my AMD FX-8320 out of the box, supported G.SKILL Ripjaws (2 X 4GB). Upgrade went seamless - except the DVI and HDMI didn't work for a dual monitor solution on the motherboard. I had an older GPU that was easy to insert.

Cons: The onboard graphics didn't support dual-monitors.

Other Thoughts: Good budget board for a micro-ATX installation.

4 out of 5 eggsAsus M5A78L-M

Pros: It fit very snug into my case which is an old case but it was all installed very well and there were no problems installing it!

Cons: only small problem which is fixable is when you install the motherboard , and start up your PC at first it was a bit glitchy in the sense that it was an outdated motherboard but with the Cd that comes with it. after installing all the new software for it, runs like a jet :]
