5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Board

Pros: Great board, very powerful, has everything you'd want. If you want a really powerful rig and don't want to spend over $200 for the motherboard, this is the one to get.

Cons: None.

3 out of 5 eggsasus rma sucks

Pros: overall good board, fast when gaming.

Cons: 1st pcie slot died on me,got a rma number from asus and they told me it was covered by warranty,so i spent $45 for shipping.now they claim i have 2 scratches that i apparently made which avoid warranty, they ask me $150 + taxes for a new board, there was no scratches when i sent the board,i doubled checked it and there was no scratches.i'm in electrincs trade since 1982 so i'm not a noob.

Other Thoughts: i transmitted them satisfaction level and if they dont wanna cover the board i'll just go get another one (MSI,GIGABYTE.....).i was a asus faithful buyer for almost 20 years but just that one incident was enough for me.

1 out of 5 eggsLooks good, doesn't perform

Pros: First and foremost, I have to say I own quite a lot of ASUS products and have been a fan for a long time.

So after 1 year of ownership, the only thing that I like about this board is that it's pretty.

Oh, sure, there are other stuff, such as the nice PCI slots spaced wide enough for Crossfire (yeah, AMD cards need that much air), the SupremeFX sound is good (after all the patches, because prior to that it was super glitchy/noisy). There's also plenty of OC potential.

This *could* have been a great board.

Cons: The nightmare begins.

Experience with this board with early BIOSes was not good. Sound kept being noisy and constantly glitched.

System clock completely stopped with early BIOSes.

This board has been the *MOST UNSTABLE BOARD I HAVE EVER USED*. It's been bsod'ing every now and then for the past year. I've tried everything: removing GPUs and running off iGPU, changed drives, changed sata cables, reinstalled Windows, changed PSU, installed drivers, etc etc. BSOD's are random at boot and are tied to the boot device being inaccessible.

Other Thoughts: Of course I contacted ASUS support, but since Feb 2014, this was not fixed (we're Nov 2014).

1 out of 5 eggsA lot of cool features but buggy.

Pros: Pros:
Very nice looking if you like to look at your motherboard often.
Precise voltage control for overclocking even though haswell overclocks poorly (DIGI)
Upgraded sound compared to cheaper mobos
Big and sturdy
Had this for over a year, it haven't died yet

Cons: Cons:
Pricey
Very buggy with the software that you can't get any support for.
Lots of users like myself are unable to resolve any of the issues we had with this board such as:
1) turning off the computer after a shutdown (fans still spinning etc...)
2) turning off usb power when computer is shut down (everything attached are still powered on and I haven't been able to fix this myself with their software and instructions on the vip forums)
3) usb devices taking a long time to register when first boot into desktop including keyboard/mouse

I had other asus/other brand motherboards not as fancy as this that I like a lot better because of simplicity and bug free operation. Feel free to check the forums to verify these bugs and as far as I know none of these issues are addressed for the past year.

Other Thoughts: Too bad I cant return this, should have done my homework better before buying fancy motherboards. Though if the software side worked out, this would be a nice board.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Mobo

Pros: Always been a price-performance guy, and this lives up to the definition. Excellent board for medium range builds.

Cons: With nearly a year of use, the graphics cards on there have created an extremely slight flex in the board. I have had no luck with the overclocking features built in to the board.

Other Thoughts: This is a great board, I would buy it again.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard, sound popping issue

Pros: The motherboard has a beautiful UEFI. Overclocking is a breeze. Very stable as well.

Cons: The knocking this motherboard down eggs specifically because of the issue with the onboard sound. It's atrocious. After having the system running for awhile there begins to be a cracking / popping to sound playback. The issue has not been alleviated with updated drivers and ive pretty much decided that it's just a faulty product. Reports of this issue are rampant and asus has done nothing to resolve the issue.

4 out of 5 eggsGood board for the money.

Pros: Love the color scheme of ROG products. Good feature set. UEFI Bios is very user-friendly and easy to use.

Cons: Bent USB 3.0 header on the board however that may have been my doing. Not too big of a deal though.

1 out of 5 eggs8 Months in: Onboard NIC died, AWFUL customer service

Pros: The board lasted 8 months before something went wrong....

Cons: So, at the 8 month mark this board's onboard network card died on me. I would not consider that to be such a bad thing, but the customer support this far has been awful. The first person (after a nearly half hour wait) seemed like they knew what they were doing, but after I finished giving them all the information they needed they failed to send me the necessary form for the advanced RMA that I asked for. A week later, I get onto their chat system to check the status, only to have the support rep close the session without typing a single word to me. I tried again, and the person told me what had happened with my RMA, but could not actually help. So after another half hour phone wait I get another person who actually sends me the docs I need. I just sent off the forms so the story isn't over, but I can tell you right now that ASUS is not a company you want to deal with if anything goes wrong.

Other Thoughts: It's nice to know that ASUS does indeed honor their warranty, and even offers free advanced RMA service. However, they make it so painful to get that service that I'd rather try someone else next time. A+ for style, F for effort.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Jeremy,

I am sorry to hear that you had issues with our customer support as well as your motherboard sir. I will be happy to assist you with your current RMA if you have any further issues. When contacting me, so that I may look into your case further, please provide me with your RMA number. Please include your reference number below within the subject line. In addition, please provide me with what troubleshooting steps you had tried, as well as the rest of the systems hardware configuration. Thank you!Cs#N140953095

5 out of 5 eggsStill happy 6 months in

Pros: Quality (so far!)
Good audio
Ease of install
Good drivers
Good overclocking software/bios

Cons: Super-hyped audio is pretty much the same as everyone else's Realtek; some fancier drivers are the main difference.

Other Thoughts: This has been, thus far, a problem free motherboard. The layout is quite nice, and the components (and included cables) are top-notch. I'm hoping the motherboard will continue to perform this highly for years to come.

2 out of 5 eggsBoot loop

Pros: None, constant boot loop. Uhug--RMA time. Using approved processor and memory with no love. Updated bios using flashback method and still no love after removing battery and waiting.

Cons: Received non-functional so had no choice but to RMA.

Other Thoughts: Purchased a Gigabyte product which booted up fine with no issues so far. C'mon Asus where's your quality control?

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Puss N Boots,

I do apologize that you experienced issues with your motherboard. If you would like to discuss this case further, please contact me through email and include your reference number within the subject line. In addition, please provide me with what troubleshooting steps you had tried, as well as the rest of the systems hardware configuration. Thank you. Cs#N140942508
