4 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: Great board, ASUS, I hapen to like the new colors. UEFI BIOS is awesome. Plenty of 6gb/s SATA ports especially for a mini. you will run out of space in your case before you will run out of connectors.

Cons: none really if you want to run more then 1 graphics card then you shouldnt have a mini itx case in the first place. I have a Gforce 760 and it barely fits both length and width in my case.

Pros: so far its working like it should.

Cons: Did not come with any sata cables like i thought it did. When i first turned it on all it would do is spin the CPU fan for a half sec.. After checking everything 3 times i pulled the CPU and found a pin on the motherboard slightly bent. I was able to use a needle to line it up with the rest and it works fine now. Im not sure if i managed bend it somehow of it came like that.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's working good so far

Pros: I like the BIOS layout. I appears to be pretty solid. Works, is functional. Had one problem (described below). Was able to independently configure the RAM for multiple speeds, running Channel 1 (two 2GB Sticks) @ 1600, while running (two 1GB Sticks) @ 1333 on channel 2.

Lots of BIOS features... I mean lots!! I'm almost sorry I bought it for the wifes Christmas build, because I want it!

Cons: So I have a two year old Samsung Spin Point 2 Terabyte HD that started clicking after installing it on SATA6GB_3 plug. Pulled it once I noticed the sound and through it on a working system immediately to see if the drive went bad. Hears the odd part... worked fine, no clicking. Put it back in the case with this MOBO and the clicking started again. Immediately turned system off, started system with no SATA cable on it. Hard Drive spun up and did not click while not attached to MOBO, so power supply is good. I also have three other hard drives (different makes) in the system with varying speeds (SATA1-2) & an SSD (SATA3). None of them had a problem. I don't get it but the motherboard was the problem. Put a limiting jumper on it for SATA1 and had no noise but couldn't get the Mobo to see the HD. I'm currently using it externally with the Mobo until I have time to go back and figure it out.

I don't get it.... ?

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work

Pros: None

Cons: Power runs through it but no BIOS on screen. changed ram and checked wires a dozen times. and it did not come with a motherboard speaker

Other Thoughts: since I gradually buy part for my pc I had it for more than 30 days so I can't RMA

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggspretty good choice

Pros: got it very fast, does what he has to do. the memory perfectly fits with everything, not like some micro atx boards where everything is too flush. i like it's style too.

Cons: got a problem with the socket, but a guy repaired it for me. i was very sad when i saw it didn't worked at first time, but now it works. i was very disappointed. spent 40 bucks for that!

5 out of 5 eggsGood board for the price

Pros: Booted up first try, no BSOD's so far. BIOS is clean and intuitive. Has a sold feature set and a good price.

Cons: 8 channel audio is only through the HDMI so unless you use a USB headset buy a sound card. Only a few fan headers on the board but this really isn't a big deal to me.

Other Thoughts: - Antec 1200
- Core i5-4570 (non-K)
- 16gb G-skill DDR3-1600 8GB (2 x 8GB)
- GTX 560ti (upgrading soon'ish)
- Seagate 1tb hdd
- 1000w psu

4 out of 5 eggsFeature-rich motherboard with a quirk

Pros: 6 SATA 6Gbps ports (mixture of board edge and straight on ports)
6 USB3 ports
NO legacy ports (PCI, IDE, Floppy)
Nice small dimension microATX mobo for really tight microATX cases
Clean look to the motherboard, and innovative RAM slot with only one clip, so it does not interfere with graphics slot.

Cons: Wanted to use Intel Graphics HD4600, but had constant driver crashes using any driver and the newest bios in Windows 7x64. Was so annoying, I had to buy a cheap graphics card so playing videos and web browsing would not crash. Contacted both Intel and Asus about it and they just suggested updating bios, drivers, but it didn't work. I did all kinds of research online about the problem ("Display driver igfx stopped working and has recovered") and tried everything. With no driver installed and when running benchmarks with driver, the GPU was at full clock speed and voltage, and did not crash. Finally I fixed the issue, go into Asus bios and adjust the CPU Graphics Voltage up a bit and don't use Auto setting, in my case, 0.900V. This cleared up any driver crashing.

Also, coming from Gigabyte bios for past 2 motherboards, this Asus UEFI bios seems a bit scatterbrained and hard to navigate.

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately got the C1 version with the USB3 sleep bug, but I don't keep USB drives plugged in so no issue for me.

3 out of 5 eggsworked fine, but had problem

Pros: nice price
easy board to work with
does not have many slots, but you are not paying for them either, so if all you need is video it is great

Cons: after I put the system together it would not boot up with memory in the a-slots. No problem with the b-slots. However, I needed all four slots filled. Would not work! Sent it back to Newegg, but they would not replace it.

Other Thoughts: I gave it a 3 because had I not needed all four slots I would have keep the board and been very happy with it. Had Newegg replaced it as they should have, I would be a happy camper. Ended up having to buy a different board locally to get the system up and running. I have always liked Asus products and will continue to buy them. Maybe not their motherboards!!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for leaving your feedback.

I am sorry you are having issues with the motherboard. If I may, I would like to help. What system components are you using in this computer build? Particularly what RAM are you using? Did you make sure and confirm that the RAM you are using is on the QVL? You can find this on our support site by searching your model number for your board.

Should you need further assistance, please let me know, and I will help further.

Regards,

Mark

5 out of 5 eggsSolid mid-level motherboard

Pros: Perfect balance of features for a mid-range system at stock settings:
- Plenty of SATA 3 and USB 3.0 ports
- 4 DIMM slots
- 2 case fan headers with Fan Xpert 2 support - B85 and H81 ASUS boards only have one case fan header with a simpler Fan Xpert+ control

Cons: - Fan Xpert 2 software uses CPU core temperature to adjust fan speeds, but socket temperature to place yellow dot on RPM curves. So, fan speed adjustment actually works, but the way it is shown in ASUS software bundled with the board is totally misleading - yellow dots are always off the curves (check Fan Xpert 2 screenshots on the Internet if you have not seen it to see what I mean).
- Rather limited monitoring features: no CPU core voltage or temperature displayed in UEFI and AiSuite III software. This motherboard only monitors socket temperature, and VCCIN, 3V, 5V and 12V voltages. Then again, this is not an overclocking product.
- Digi+ VRM features are very limited compared to Z87 boards. Only manual and offset core voltage modes are supported, there is no adaptive mode available.

Other Thoughts: I am running this motherboard in a simple build:

- Fractal Design Core 1000
- Core i7-4770 (non-K)
- Cooler Master GeminII S524
- Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 8GB (2 x 4GB)
- Corsair Neutron GTX 120GB
- SeaSonic SSR 450W Gold Certified

This machine is running CPU-based calculations 24/7, hence high-end CPU and basic everything else. This board offers plenty of connectivity for potential future expansion. At the same time it has no higher-end features that I will not need in this machine. CPU is running at stock settings, so VRM and monitoring capabilities are perfectly adequate. Do not expect much in terms of overclocking (see cons), but mild overclocking to around 4GHz should be achievable with K CPU. Don't forget to update UEFI to enable non-Z overclocking.

My only complaint is that ASUS needs to fix Fan Xpert 2 software, so that it displays the same temperature that it actually uses to control fan speed.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive H87 motherboard, but still good general features.
Completely stable so far with a Core i5-4670 and 2x8GB of Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600.
UEFI interface is clean and very intuitive.

Cons: None so far. Everything has been working perfectly since day 1.
