1 out of 5 eggsMotherboard came DOA.

Cons: It came DOA, we purchased from a different retailer and the same issue arose.

1 out of 5 eggsVERY DISSAPOINTED

Pros: none

Cons: needs to be updated

Other Thoughts: first off, i am a certified electrical/computer engineer, so i know my way around electronics VERY well. I purchased this motherboard along with a 4th generation core-i5 intel chip. After installing the CPU and building the entire unit i came to discover that the motherboard BIOS was not up to date so the new 4th generation chip does not work with the older version of BIOS. Basically this meant that the computer was not working at all, when i turned it on, it did nothing, just powered on, no bios screen came up no boot screen. the motherboard was not working becuase the CPU was not compatible with the motherboard without the bios update. WHY would the motherboard be a 4th generation board that is not compatible without the update to use with a 4th generation chip. I am very unhappy. After talking with ASUS i came to find out that the only options are 1) order a CPU that is LGA1150 that is 3rd generation and do the update, then reinstall the 4th generation chip. BUT WAIT newegg does not sell a 3rd generation LGA1150 chip, and even if they did, the CPU is not returnable! COME ON
2) order a new bios chip, which i would do BUT ASUS has not released it yet. so i am left with option 3
3) send the motherboard to ASUS and pay for the board to updated. this is a 2-3 week process and i am very angry. this computer needs to be fully functional as of 2 days AGO. get your act together new egg and stop selling products that are not up to date.

4 out of 5 eggsSmooth sailin'

Pros: Has a nice amount of USB ports (6 total) and SATA ports (4 total). Downloaded fresh drivers & BIOS from website, no problems so far. Asus makes quality boards!

Cons: PCB is rather thin and the result is that rear connections feel a tad flimsy. Wouldn't recommend if that's a concern. Be gentle.

Other Thoughts: I'm using these in a small office environment where the "Con" doesn't matter. Used with Team Elite 8GB RAM & G3220 CPU.

1 out of 5 eggsProblematic Board

Pros: As long as you don't use USB, it is a wonderful little board.

Cons: My first ASUS board that had problems right out of the box. Usually, they are rock solid boards, but this one...
- Inserting any USB drive (flash or HHD) gives "Controller errors" in Win7Pro x64 system log.
- After a USB device has been inserted and the system is rebooted, it refuses to go into BIOS via the DEL key during POST.

Other Thoughts: I tried swapping out the RAM, various USB keys and external HDDs, I tried all of the USB 2.0 ports and the USB 3.0 ports... no difference. I tried it with xHCI disabled/enabled/smart auto... no difference. I even flashed the BIOS to the latest version (it came from the factory with 0301 and the latest was 0808). Not one thing helped. Is a shame to see an ASUS product give such a shoddy performance.
I've done hundreds of system builds, and have used ASUS boards for the past few years exclusively as I prefer their (usual) quality.
Will have to RMA this board and see what the next one does for me.

3 out of 5 eggsNO USB 3.0 FRONT HEADER!!

Pros: Fits in mATX case perfectly, new 1150 socket, great price, Asus boards are typically pretty solid from my experience. has 2 x USB 3.0 ports!

Cons: There is NO USB 3.0 FRONT PANEL HEADER!! That right, have a shiny new case with front panel USB 3.0 ports? Can't use them with this board! You would figure a motherboard saying USB 3.0 all over it would have this important header.... you would be wrong! I was SHOCKED to find this out as I had specifically bought 3 cases with 2 x usb 3.0 ports on the front. This board will not work with my case unless I buy a USB 3 to USB 2 adapter (had to find 3 of them and over night to get these builds done in time). I typically love Asus products but come on man! there is no excuse for this ASUS!

4 out of 5 eggsgood board

Pros: good board, easy to install and setup. I'd use this board again

Cons: the drivers are not pre-installed but not difficult to install, the biggest problem I had with this is "rapid storage technology" software caused my windows updates to stop and actually prevented me from updating until I uninstalled this program.

Other Thoughts: over all it's a good board so long as you don't install the rapid storage technology software.

4 out of 5 eggsIt worked

Pros: Was not DOA.

Cons: USB Device Over Current Status Detected!! System will shut down after 15 secs. This was caused by a missing jumper on the usb header.

Other Thoughts: Never used a small MB like this before think this is a nice cost saving idea.
