1 out of 5 eggsWorked for three hours

Pros: Good price, video on board, 4 memory slots, USB 3, SATA 6Gb/s and UEFI BIOS. All very nice for a workstation build.

Cons: After installation I loaded win 7 OS and left the computer turned on. After three hours I checked on the new build and found no video on the monitor. The power LED was lit on the board and CPU fan was running. After extensive troubleshooting I found the board was dead, The CPU was cold, no POST and no beeps, Visual inspections of the board showed no apparent bad solder joints.
This board has been returned to newegg.

Other Thoughts: Over the past 30 years I have many self built computers under my belt. This is the first motherboard that was a dud in the first three hours.
I think the production quality of motherboards is getting worse.
At one time considered ASUS to be a high quality manufacture, I have my doubts now.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat for price

Pros: I am very happy with this board. for a low price budget build board it far out preforms what was expected, the PCI 2.0 that is shown in the picture is really a 3.0 slot.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsNice little board

Pros: Size and value. You can get a smaller case if need be, if you are space limited. I pared mine with a Godavari 7870k and it booted right up with 8gigs of old ddr3 that I had. Got the chip for $109 so this budget build is quite a lot for the money! It's overkill actually, as I made a NAS out of it with 5 hard drives and NAS4FREE. Just updated the bios and lowered the vcore (the default is way too high at 1.48v). Super stable. With an AIO 240 cooler it's up 24/7, no issues yet. My dual PCIE Intel NIC is working fine in the single 16x slot and it setup the memory values right off the bat, no complaints with the board's function.

Cons: My only con in this build is the board layout. The memory slots are, in a tower build, up at the top almost at the edge of the board. If you get a case that has the now common spot on top for an AIO radiator and fans, make sure you have enough room for it to not be in the way of the ram sticks. My setup just fit, the fan frames just touch the ram heatsinks, I used short screws through the inner fan holes because there was no room for the longer screw heads. (Thermaltake V31). Larger cases would probably not have this issue; but if you are looking for a small setup and chose this board for that reason, it may be a factor in what case you select.

Other Thoughts: Going with AMD I think I got quite a lot for my money, and this board, once I updated the bios, is working quite well with the Godavari chip. No, I'm not gaming on it but it's doing fine providing 4 ISCSI luns with 4 server 2012r2 server instances installed, which are being hosted on an ESXI 5.5 home server (also an Asus board). It's too early to judge long term stability and reliability, but but at this point the setup has been no issue.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board!

Pros: Great board, stable, still supported, cheap, plenty of options

Cons: Bios does not support overclocking GPU, though it can be done through AMD's desktop software.

Other Thoughts: This board is great. I can OC(stable) my a10 7850k to 4.2 and run 2400mhz ram under advertised latency and without increasing voltage. I only wish I didn't need the desktop software to overclock my iGPU. Oh well. I really can't complain.

1 out of 5 eggsI bought the refurb version

Pros: Pros: It works... Eventually...Sort of.. All of the bad reviews you read saying that they are defective are more than likely not true.. The issue is the bios version not supporting the processor you are using.

Cons: 1: didn't come with the back plate, manual, or driver disk.
(Normally Driver disk is not a problem.. BUT.. WIndows 7 will not find the Network adapter so you cannot get online)
2: I ordered the Refurb because I was hoping (foolishly) that it would be flashed with the latest bios.. NOPE! It had the oldest version there was.
3: Obviously with the old bios version it would not post with my 860K processor.
4: when I tried to run with old bios version and the 860k it corrupted my Windows so badly I had to Fdisk and start from scratch.
5: spent an entire day switching processors around and reinstalling everything.

Other Thoughts: Don't go for this if you have an 860k or any newer processor for that matter. It's not worth the trouble.
It's possible to make it work.. but just not worth it.

My IO ports are hanging out the back of my case naked. Thanks ASUS!

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: I guess I missed the revolution where Motherboard software went away from keyboard commands. Slightly confused when a mouse pointer showed up, oh well.

Software has a lot of options to give you full control of everything, above my pay grade with those options but still nice to have them.

All components fit as they should

Cons: Not a full sized board?

Other Thoughts: Great product from ASUS as always

1 out of 5 eggsUpate 10-03-14 ASUS Lied

Pros: Worked flawlessly 6 months with the A10-5800K

Cons: ASUS lied, After 6 months of flawless performance with the A10-5800K. I checked the ASUS Support page for compatibility with the A10-7850K , and it said that it would be starting with Firmware version 1002 . So I bought an A10-7850K ,updated the firmware and NO ! It is NOT compatible. I updated all the way through the lastest firmware and threw every driver version that AMD Has ,and the HDMI never worked .Even the DVI port was flaky at best.
I reloaded windows 7 three times and nothing worked. Finally I put the A10-5800k back in ,Loaded Windows one more time and all is back to normal.

Other Thoughts: I gave this board a higher rating 6 months ago while using the A10-5800K,so if you are using a trinity based APU this is a great board
If a Kavari based APU is your goal DO NOT use this board.
I tested my A10-7850K in a Gigabyte F2A88XM-D3H that I bought here 07/05/15 and it was stable first try, without any firmware updates.

4 out of 5 eggsREALLY NICE MB for the Price!

Pros: 1.) Compact Micro ATX Motherboard with a lot of Features
2.) ASUS has really Supported this MB with a lot of BIOS Updates on a regular basis.
3.) 4 memory Slots which helps a lot if you have an Oversized CPU Cooler
4.) Built in Video which saves a slot and money.
5.) Tons of USB Connectors including USB 3.0
6.) Newer Bolton D4 Chipset
8.) Asus AI Suite Software is Nice for Tweaking Settings

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Purchased this Motherboard to build an HTPC which needs a lot of features and a compact board. HDMI was a must! This would also make a nice budget PC as you can save money with the built in video.
