1 out of 5 eggsRMA'd twice.

Pros: Looks pretty cool.

Cons: Had to RMA this thing TWO TIMES before finally giving up on it and getting another board. :(

First board turned on for about 1.5 seconds and then shut right off. Tried troubleshooting it to no avail. Second board turned on for about 2-3 seconds, then shut off, then turned right back on. Tried troubleshooting, no luck. Every other part had been tested and is now working with my current board.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat for a budget build

Pros: cheap, good feature set, beyond easy to setup, no issues in win 7

Cons: missing the wifi from the regular pro board, appears to be no power for esata if anyone still uses that, also no legacy pci slots

Other Thoughts: since i now have win10 on a hero7-5690k mb/cpu build i wanted to create a win 7 system for older software and a backup machine. every single utility and driver on the included cd worked flawless. that said, would i buy this board for a win 10 build? probably not. as of now there are no driver updates for win10 on the asus website and a z97 board isn't all that much more money and or z170. however, for what i'm doing with it, really couldn't ask for more. this board has a nice graphical mouse driven bios and should be a breeze for anyone with even a little tech knowledge. i was able to get this board, 8gb of corsair memory and an intel i3 4170 for $225 making it a slick and very functional budget build. let's see, what else? the board has solid caps and an overall solid feel to it, things clip in as they should and it really does not feel like many other sub $100 budget boards. i decided to write this review for a couple of reasons, one of them was the influx of negativity. i'm really not sure what caused it but overall this is a very easy to use and very functional board.

1 out of 5 eggsASUS Z87-PRO V

Pros: None, can't get it to work

Cons: RMA'd it twice. I'm currently on my 3rd board, hope this one works.

Other Thoughts: Called ASUS customer support and nothing they said to do helped, I switched RAM 3 times.... it gave me Q-Code 53 on a breadboard build. I also changed PSU's twice.

At this point, the only thing that can be wrong other than the mobo is the CPU, which is highly unlikely.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Customer Service Experience.

Pros: NewEgg made this right, like they always do.

Cons: Tried to contact ASUS to RMA this bad board. I talked to 4 or 5 different people, always having the call dropped towards the end of the conversation when they were taking down my address to set up the RMA. They would never call back after the call dropped even after I had made sure they had my call back number during the initial call. I deal with tech manufacturers almost daily and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. I am an IT consultant and direct a lot of businesses and home users on what to buy, and you can make sure that ASUS will NEVER be recommended again. EVER.

Other Thoughts: Save yourself some grief, buy another brand.

1 out of 5 eggsWorthless Junk

Pros: Board looks Neat. Utilities and bios flashing are cool. When functional.
When it worked, it was OK. Unfortunately, that was all of about 2-3 weeks in over 3 months.

Buy if you enjoy looking at a black screen. Or if you wish to render your pc unusable. Or if you enjoy endless holds on tech support calls, or sending things back multiple times to try to replace it, and really enjoy the whole RMA process.

Cons: Would give NEGATIVE eggs, if I could. Bear with me.

I rarely give negative reviews, but this had to be the worst experience I have ever had with PC parts.

Bought from Newegg in October2014. Got around to refubishing an old Dual core PC with new guts to make a Win7 PC in Early December 2014. Booted up fine, and seemed ok on day one. Shut down the PC, and It booted with no video, and case fan not working. Checked online, and found out sometimes memory is a cause of no video issue. RMA'd memory. Same issue. Replaced video card. Same issue. Tried a different PS, same issue. Holidays came and went, and I finally got the MB RMA's In Jan. After 2 weeks, got the board back - Same issue. After multiple tries, I was able to get it to boot normally. I only restarted, and it came back fine. Was running for about 2 weeks in February. Wife accidentally shut down pc. Would NOT boot with Video or case fan power.

Spent a few hours on a weekend with tech support. Was told to flash the bios( Had tried that already too.) No Joy. Was promised a call tag, and replacement board. No call tag arrived - I sent it in myself. RMA'd board. More shipping charges.

Board arrived on March 24th after 2 week, and an e-mail about it's whereabouts, ....aaaaaaand Surprise! Same issue.

Bought MSI Gaming 5 board to have working PC - worked fine with my current hardware configuration.

Contacted Asus customer satisfaction - requested refund for my horrible experience they offered me another "replacement board." Said they do not give refunds, only replacements.

Don't need a board, as have replaced with working MSI board.

Maybe I can sell the board they send me online somewhere.

Out a total of 176 dollars and change, including the 2 shipping fees for RMA's. Not rich, and don't have money to burn - this has cost me money, and still no working board.

Customer service/technical support was helpful and polite, but totally worthless.

If you really want this board, just take the cash and burn it in a fireplace, instead. Same result.

In closing, my final thought is..... This is JUNK.

Other Thoughts: I thought from the reviews on Newegg this would be a good board. I was completely wrong. I was without a computer for the better part of 3 months, and still do not have a working board. Skip this garbage, and go with MSI.

I will never purchase another Asus product.

4 out of 5 eggs6 months after update

Pros: 6/21/2014 was my last update. Wanted to put some time in with the RMA board before i re-posted. Pros- board is pretty solid and the over clock utility is great for those who are not tech savvy at overclocking or ones like my self who are and just want a fast and easy over clock. I have a I7 4770K and the board OC it with out a fuss. I did do some minor tweaks in the bios but over all the broad is user friendly and tech friendly at the same time which is cool. Long review short, this board gives one a full array of tweaks and works well with my hardware for the most part.

Cons: After the RMA i still had 3 times were my system would not post and was throwing codes in the process. Luckily it sorted itself out and has pretty much settled down and booted with out issues for awhile now. In fairness one fail boot attempt was for some strange reason due to my Fanatech CSR elite wheel being left on and plugged into the usb. The only reason i dropped a star from a full 5 was due to the rough troublesome start I have had with this mother board . The fight and struggles I had at first has left me "cautious" about its reliability. Time will tell from this point as so far as i have stated it seems to have settled down and has been working trouble free for a bit now. Fingers crossed.

Other Thoughts: Asus never gave me one bit of hassle when i dealt with them during the RMA process. Called them and the person on the line was top notch and never tried to make a bunch of excuses or blame me for the faulty board. No matter what any company will have the " bad products" slip through. Thats a part of life. What ticks me off is when they try to avoid taking responsibility for it and twisting the situation to look like its was the users fault. Asus stepped up to the plate and timely fashion and fixed my problem in all regards . For that i give them a 5 star rating .

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: BIOS handles clocking tasks quite nicely. my 1600mhz RAM required no extra XMP profiles. ASUS customer support was excellent.

Cons: A slot DIMMS didnt work upon purchase and wasn't a big deal. I've also noticed higher amounts of USB devices interfering with each other than on the previous board which used the identical devices and configuration. Eventually my PCIE slot failed and I began an RMA that I could not finish due to the PCIE slot -refusing- to release my video card causing the pins to pull from the board.

1 out of 5 eggsIts a Gamble

Pros: It is very aesthetically pleasing. I like the color scheme.

Cons: I received a defective board.

Other Thoughts: I guess I lost on the gamble like many others who bought this board. I received a defective board and am now proceeding to RMA it. Hopefully I get one that works and the RMA process goes smoothly. If I get one that works I will definitely update this review again. I only bought the board because it was on sale and came with a rebate. I would stay away unless you have amazing luck or don't mind stressful situations.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdated Review

Pros: This is an update on my recent review stating that I couldn't get the board to POST.. This is from months ago just finally got around to updating.

So I RMA'd and newegg sent me a new board extremely quickly since I have a premium account, I didn't have to pay for any shipping either which was nice. When I plug everything back up it works like a charm! I have been gaming on this $4k build for forever now and it blows every other computer I've gamed on out of the water. I love its overclocking utilities and it's aesthetic design for the BIOS. I would recommend this product to anyone using the z87 socket as it doesn't bottleneck the memory/cpu performance along with the pci bridges

Cons: None worth mentioning

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bought it along with an i7 4770k. Works great

Cons: Occasionally when I shut down the computer, it doesn't quite shut down all the way. There will be no signal going to the monitors, or anything else of significance, but all the fans are still running. It'll stay like that for hours, until I press the power button again
