1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work.

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: Doesn't work.

Other Thoughts: I was sold a defective unit. None of the ports work. None of them. Tried to connect my monitor to the ports and I get no signal. Tried other monitors and still get the same thing. Can someone at Newegg check these products before they sell them to make sure someone doesn't get duped out of their money and have to deal with returning something?

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We appreciate the feedback you have provided on your ASUS experience. I'm sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing. What are your hardware specifications? Is your CPU, memory, and power supply all in the qualified vendor list? After you have verified your parts, please double check each cable on the motherboard including your 24pin/8pin power plug connectors. Please make sure all your GPU connectors are firmly installed and that all your SATA drives are receiving power from your PSU. Clear CMOS and see if the board will POST. If it will not, pull one memory module and place the other stick in the slot furthest from the CPU and see if that helps. Please make sure to complete the power off cycle before testing hardware to avoid damaging your hardware. If you need help with any technical questions or general inquiries, please contact me directly at cl-nestor@asus.com.

Thank you for choosing ASUS!

Best Regards,
-Nestor

4 out of 5 eggsDurable, fast, cool running mini board

Pros: Construction feels very firm and durable. All the components are performing perfectly. Very cool while operating. I am surprised at how cool it is. It doesn't generate any noticeable heat even after long hours of heavy operation.

Cons: No very many USB ports. Only four. Two 2.0, and two 3.0.

Other Thoughts: BIOS is very feature full.

3 out of 5 eggsNoxii

Pros: The motherboard comes with a visual UEFI , which is a nice addition to those who visit the bios often.

Cons: Motherboard doesn't support overclocking, or at least there is no noticeable difference when the CPU is overclocked (only a mere .1 GHZ is bumped when overclocking)

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a motherboard to pair a G3258 with, then go for the MSI H81M-P33. You can get at least 4GHZ easily when overclocked.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience with your ASUS product. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this experience may have caused. Are you using manual overclock or auto overclocking for your CPU? What happens when you manually configure your CPU core ratio 4000 mhz? If you're raising the multiplier clockspeed at a higher frequency, make sure to gradually add .01 to your core voltage. Be careful not to go overboard with your CPU core/cache voltage, there is a possibility that if the voltage is increased to high, it can cause the VRM to short circuit. Also, if you haven't already please make sure to set up your chassis fans to allow smooth direct air flow with cold air taking in and hot air exhausting out in order to raise the heat threshold and to prevent your VRM and other hardware from overheating. For enhanced system compatibility, you can flash your UEFI build to version (1104). You can locate locate the latest BIOS Version on our ASUS Online Help Desk: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H81MK/HelpDesk_Download/. If you have any technical questions or general inquiries you can contact me at cl-nestor@asus.com.

5 out of 5 eggsReplacement works without a problem

Pros: Six SATA III ports and very nice, HD UEFI BIOS

Cons: None with this replacement motherboard.

Other Thoughts: I attached SSD with WIN7 previously installed and everything works great. Added drivers ans system is working well right now. This one time accidend doesn't change my mind. I still consider ASRock motherboards as very good product in par with ASUS and gigabyte motherboards, so five eggs.

1 out of 5 eggsFaulty

Pros: The price

Cons: Faulty parts

Other Thoughts: I understand that the price is cheap, but I purchased one and after a few months the ethernet port stopped. I purchased another one and out of the box the VGA ports do not work.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

5 out of 5 eggsImpressive Budget Board!

Pros: - Nice, small form factor with Micro ATX
- 4th generation Intel board that takes everything from a Pentium to an i7
- ASUS quality

Cons: - None

Other Thoughts: I picked this board up as a budget piece for a computer I built for my girlfriend. I have to say, I was super impressed. For a budget item, this thing is great and full of features. Couldn't have asked for more. ASUS hasn't disappointed me yet.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Low price, easy setup.

Cons: Cant over clock CPU.

Other Thoughts: While the board works great so far, I was under the impression it could OC the CPU, but it doesn't really bother me too much since it works great with my Pent G3258 3.2 hz processor and by "not" being able to OC the CPU it just might last a lot longer. :) Bonus...

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: This motherboard is very flexible, more than enough for the everyday user. Supports up to 16 GB of memory, supports up to Core i7, it has USB 3.0 and all SATA 6 Gb per second ports along with gigabit ethernet. Add to that the fact that it has the aces name behind it and you've got a very solid and very reliable board.

Speaking to this motherboard flexibility it has PCI express allowing for the addition of a dedicated graphics card if ever the need arises as well as DVI, VGA and HDMI output for onboard video allowing for both older and newer monitors to be used.

The fact that it supports all the way up to Intel Core i7 as mentioned earlier is a plus

Cons: The only thing I don't like is that this motherboard does not have a front panel connector for USB 3.0

Other Thoughts: I paired this motherboard with an Intel core i3 4130 with 8 GB of RAM and a 240 GB solid-state drive. The people whom this computer was built for don't do anything other than basic everyday tasks but they love the fact that this motherboard has the expandability to be sped up exponentially in the future by just dropping in a new processor and more memory without having to rebuild the entire machine. Coming from a seven-year-old Dell desktop machine which ran Windows Vista they could not be happier.
