5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I love the M.2 socket for my 256 gb SSD card. At the moment it transfers 10 gbps. I can boot up in 5 secs. BIOS is nice, plenty of fan heads, my water pump and video card sits nicely, and it's great for gaming.

Cons: None that I can think of now.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst Build - Good Board

Pros: Solid "pro" features at a very competitive price. Perhaps not the board for hardcore gamers but more than enough for general purpose users looking for better than average features/performance with good future potential.

This was my first custom build and everything went very well. Board behaved as expected and, at month 3, no discernible issues.

Cons: Not sure all the included software adds value.

4 out of 5 eggsNice stable board with everything you should need!

Pros: Every feature you need minus the Wi-Fi of the more expensive model!

Nice and stable with the fantastic mouse supported bios!

Has a built in Intel NIC!

Runs very cool and can over-clock well if that's your thing!

Not to keen on the new gold look of the Asus heatsinks but it's different and will likely catch on!

Asus boards usually cost a bit more but are usually worth the extra cash!

Since I have worked in the I.T. field since 1994 I have been using Asus boards since about 1999 and have never used anything else in all my personal builds.

Asus has fairly good customer service as well.

If you need to have a new build the socket 1150 with a i7 at 4 GHZ is the way to go.

However, if you are still running a Z-68 or Z-77 chipset with a Sandy or Ivy I would wait before upgrading until the PCI Express SSDs are released and get cheaper as well as DDR 4.

There is little in the ways of performance gain moving to this socket if your running either of those sockets!

I bought from a different vender but usually buy my boards from Newegg.

Cons: None! Since you should know what your buying!

Other Thoughts: I'm really getting sick and tired of the individuals that post complaints as opposed to a decent review because they were shipped a DOA board or a board that failed during the burn in process!

Please stop writing COMPLAINTS about a product that is not working even if it failed 30 days after you bought it!

It's called electrical burn in and all electronics need to pass this 80 hours of constant use before they will likely last for many years!

Anyone that works with electronics for computers or even music related components knows this and understands it!

When I see people leaving these COMPLAINTS on a DOA or board that failed within a month it really peeves me!

Asus has about 35 to 40% of all the market on motherboards and thus based on these simple numbers will have more DOA and boards that fail relatively soon.

That's what a 3 or 5 year warranty is for you COMPLAINERS!

2 out of 5 eggsProblems !!

Pros: Can't find many yet. acts like any other cheao o MB

Cons: Worked fine for 3 weeks then the B channel memory slots stopped working. Swapped around the corsair vengence pro , updated bios and ran defaults, still don't work with any memory sticks in B1 or B2. will only work with A1 A2 memory now. No response from support.

Other Thoughts: I bought a quality board so not to have these issues, but it seems I was wrong.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I am sorry that you are having issues with the motherboard's DIMM slots. If you have not contacted NewEgg for an RMA exchange already and would like to RMA with ASUS, please contact me through email, including your reference number within the subject line, and we can discuss this case further. I will be happy to assist with an RMA. In addition, please provide me with what troubleshooting steps you have tried, as well as the rest of the systems hardware configuration. Thank you. 4 out of 5 eggsASUS Quality

Pros: -Worked right out of the box (YAY!)

-USB Bios flash is pretty sweet, it's impossible to brick your MOBO

-It auto overclocked my 4690k to 4.6 no problem and stable

-The bios is pretty nice and I can actually enter BIOS without unplugging my SSD's to change stuff (thanks boot to bios utility)

Cons: -Way too many switches in all the wrong spots. Once you have your stuff installed (in my case SLI and a sound card) the USB Flash Button and CMOS battery and a few switches become unaccessable unless you pull stuff out.

Other Thoughts: I was nervous after I bought this because of all the negative reviews, I'm glad it was just fear as this board is awesome.

I wish I would have spent the extra 20 - 40 bucks and got the HERO, but I really didn't need on board sound and keybot.

5 out of 5 eggsStill a Really Nice Motherboard

Pros: This is an update to my previous review.

Figured out the problem I was having with my Lite-on Blu-ray player, and it was NOT the motherboards fault in any way (was using an old SATA cable that went bad PLUS the drive needed a firmware upgrade). It works fine now.

Many (see my review on 12\17\2014)

Cons: Nope.

Other Thoughts: I was planning on building this as a Christmas present for my son, however the Z97-E that I had bought for my work PC turned out to suit his needs just fine. Since my work PC has a tendency to end up needing more than five SATA drives at one time I felt this board was better suited for that purpose than the Z97-E (both are fantastic boards btw).

I really just wanted to give the update that the only potential con mentioned in my previous review was the fault of an old SATA cable combined with a REALLY old firmware in the Blu-ray burner, and no fault of the motherboards.

After 3 weeks of daily use everything still works perfectly.

3 out of 5 eggsneed some help

Pros: a lot of ports and a great price.

Cons: for some reason I can't get the clock to say the right time it loses days worth of time I don't know what is wrong but I need to fix it I can set the right time manually or sync it and within 10 minutes its off by 5 minutes or more. I've sent in multiple reviews about this but they seem to get ignored someone from newegg tech please respond.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I do apologize that you experienced issues with your motherboard's clock. Had you already updated to the latest BIOS?
