1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Really nice looking board with lots of features.

Cons: DOA...

Other Thoughts: Its really hard to find a quality Micro-ATX motherboard with features that you want/like and that has good reviews/ratings. After looking at this motherboard i was sold on everything and being a huge fan of ASUS, what could go wrong? Going through the comments on this motherboard i realized that most if not all 1-2 star ratings were because of DOA. And with 37 reviews and 4 egg rating i thought to myself "What are the odds of me actually getting a DOA" so i went with it. Unfortunately my odds were pretty good because i got a DOA... Now I'm not gonna go on a rant and bash ASUS for a DOA motherboard, I'm a realist and i know stuff like this happens. There are far more positive reviews than negative. Any item you buy from Newegg you are taking a chance on it. You cant expect everything you buy to work perfectly right out of the box (Although it would be nice). I had a DOA but if you are contemplating buying this board. Take a chance, what may happened to some may not happen to you.

3 out of 5 eggsUEFI BIOS Annoying

Pros: Easy install. M.2 slot.

Cons: 1) Boot drive selection is buried in the UEFI settings. Main page selection is ineffective, and thereby misleading.
2) No longer includes Asus' case header connector, that lets the user plug all of the case header stuff into one block and then connect that block to the motherboard. That was one of the nicest features of previous Asus boards, and I miss it, especially as the printing on the board is offset, and the manual has no layout.
3) If you don't already know how to install, the manual is pretty useless. Big stupid pictures that are insufficiently detailed, and provide little information.

Other Thoughts: Asus has slipped some. Hope the corner cutting listed above doesn't reflect on the board quality itself.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Item, Worried At First.

Pros: Soild Parts
Came With SATA Cables
Great Sound

Cons: Memory Installing was very tricky.

Other Thoughts: I've built many computers, but this one gave a headache. I'd finished putting everything together but could not get POST boot at all. Gave up and call ASUS support (GREAT support i have EVEN had) The issue was my memory was not completely inserted. (Memory OK light didn't glow red to let me know) Since only one side actually is a push click the other side just didn't want to fully connect.

So If you get this board make SURE the memory is completely inserted. I'd suggest inserting it before you CPU/put inside the case honestly.

1 out of 5 eggsProbably Dead At Production

Pros: Look Great on Picture

Cons: I am building a HTC in a Milo ML4. I selected ASUS Z97M-plus for its connectivity along with an i7-4690s, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD SAMSUNG 850 EVO and 4TB Seagate. I connected everything and .... pschitttttttt.
No POST, no graphic output. I tried everything to assess the extend of the damages (piece per piece after clearing the CMOS). No success.
When I tested the same components using a Gigabyte H97N-wifi, everything worked perfectly.
It is happening to me for the first time in 20 years after building more than dozens of systems. Right now, I know that I am an unlucky guy and probability to have a faulty motherboard is low but it happened to me and I am really upset.
Going further, I noticed that the Z97 chipset had some scratches and I am wondering if it was a refurbished motherboard sold as new.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Little Worker

Pros: Compatible with a range of current processors, with the ability to upgrade other facets as you go along; easy to install; easy to configure; superb UEFI interface that makes it relatively easy for even the uninitiated to maintain efficiency and productivity. Lends flexibility to a mini- or micro-build.
Used for a build for a friend's friend. Paired this in an AeroCool DS Cube, with a Silverstone 500W PS, Intel 4690K CPU, 2x4 GSkill 1600 RAM, Sumsung 850 EVO SSD and an OEM DVD burner. It all just works, first time and with no complaint or hassle.Compared with her old Gateway, it was like seeing magic.

Cons: A little tricky on the placement of CPU cooler and RAM, but that is more a function of the mini- / micro-standard than anything with this board in particular. And to be clear, there was no problem in actual installation. All slowdowns were the result of the size constraints of the case and my large hands.

Other Thoughts: Used for a build for a friend's friend. No video card in this build, but there is provision for standard cards, though it will not SLI, as I understand it. I have its big (ATX) brother in my own rig, and it is a champ.

2 out of 5 eggsNot compat with GTX 560

Pros: Has lots of features, bells and whistles. ..

Cons: Seems not compatible with GTX 560 card that came with my Win7 64. Same operating system. Graphics card not recognized on this motherboard..

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Entry-level board

Pros: Clean layout, plenty of room, good amount of fan connectors for a m-ATX board, decent onboard sound, M.2 support, good amount of rear connectivity.

Cons: The motherboard screw near the CMOS battery can be a bit tough to negotiate (it's close to a RAM slot arm) but it's not too bad. I would like to see fewer PCI slots and more PCI-E x1 slots although, frankly, if expansion were REALLY a concern m-ATX probably isn't the best choice. DisplayPort would be nice but DVI and HDMI are good enough; anyone running super high-res is probably going to want a standalone GPU anyway.

Other Thoughts: Top to bottom, Asus truly has the best value for features. You can get a board that costs less but you will feel it. Asus has made the pledge that it will offer the same software and UI features on all its boards through the whole product line. This is fantastic as it doesn't force the buyer to buy an ROG or TUF board just to get, say, Fan Xpert support or access to 5-way Optimization (both of which work fantastically, by the way; FanXpert is the industry standard for fan controls, nothing else comes close). It's all there in the in from entry-level on up.

I bought this for an office build. While H97 would have been just as good as Z97 I feel this board offered more differentiating hardware features than its H97 counterpart which are worth the money. It's a solid board and has done its job well so far.

Overall you get A LOT of features for a reasonable price. That's all I really want.

***To the guy who knocked an egg for not providing the specific networking you need, WHY didn't you research this earlier? Why knock a product for NOT having a feature the product DOES NOT advertise? It would be like if I bought a black car and complained that it isn't red. Think about this.***

1 out of 5 eggsDon't even bother

Pros: Looks nice

Cons: Spent 5-6 hours trying to figure out why my i7 4970 wasn't working with this motherboard, oh that's because the BIOS version on it doesn't support it.

Other Thoughts: Really disappointing, I've done over 10 builds with ASUS and now I think it's time for a switch to MSI.

ASUS support/website offered next to no information on how to flashback this particular board to a newer BIOS version so it'd FINALLY be compatible with my processor. Instead, I was instructed to get a lower end CPU, install that, then update my bios and put my i7 4790k back in after, yeah right, give me a break.
