Pros: Have had it 18 days. Seems to be a solid board for what is there.

Cons: New MOBO Arrived with the 20 pin header USB not working. I asked their help/service people about it. They sent me the link to BIOS and Drivers page. Reminded them the the other USB are working and any USB support is contained in windows. They said return it without any help as to what and where that procedure is.

ASUS help and service web pages and instructions could be a lot better. One example is the BIOS download. 8 or so are listed with no indication of which is applicable. Online/email help people are relatively unhelpful and seemingly unknowledgeable.

Other Thoughts: Since it will take ASUS at least 15 days from receipt to ship it back, it could take 20 days to have my (Repaired New) MOBO back, I think I can upgrade those ports to 3.0 for about the same cost as shipping it in for repairs. It could be more feature rich to add WIFI, Blue Tooth,

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent mATX Motherboard

Pros: Broad range of features, working perfectly and 100% stable so far.

Cons: None, I haven't run into any issues at all.

Other Thoughts: I needed to update my BIOS to support a i7-4790k, but that was expected and was drama-free.

5 out of 5 eggsRe-Review

Pros: Great motherboard, really tuff looking with Armor Kit. Small size is a plus.

Cons: Ships with 0801 bios, or my board did. Plays dead till you update to at least 1008 bios. And you have to download bios renaming tool on Asus's Gryphon support page to rename it. Will not run an I7-4790k without updating it.
Seems like DVI output is not working, had to install my video card to get into bios. But that may be something in the bios itself. I was lost with all the options there.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I love it now that I finally have it working.

1 out of 5 eggsGryphon Z97 motherboard

Pros: Great looking motherboard. Thought I would be able to get on here and post a great review, but instead I'm rolling snake eyes, lol. If I can get it resolved, I'll post another review.

Cons: Will not post to bios. Been trouble shooting a new motherboard for 2 1/2 days. Put in a support request to Asus, gave me a number, but haven't heard anything else from them. #N141138658

Other Thoughts: Will not post to bios. Every thing goes fine till it gets to chipset, then boot led stays on. Tried six different hard drives and 1 optical drive, and boot led is still on. Have trouble shooted the motherboard every way I can think of, and so far I still have no post. Going to try flashing bios, and if that doesn't fix it, then going to RMA motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsSubstantial

Pros: Purchased and installed in mid-June; has run non-stop and without incident since then with periodic reboots for Windows updates. Other than MB and CPU, all components were existing. Everything installed and configured easily with Win 8.1 Pro.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I purchased this board because of the Intel Z97 chipset capabilities with Asus engineering, quality components, and reliability. UEFI Bios is intuitive and easy to use; Asus AI Suite 3 works well. Running Lightroom, Photoshop. Revit, VMWare 10, Office, etc.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Stable

Cons: It would have been nice if it had more SATA ports and an additional NIC, but this isn't marketed as a server board.
Sometimes it would not boot from my USB drive.
The manual and BIOS could use better descriptions for the various settings.
I had to turn off fan warnings since I am using slow fans.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this for use in a headless UnRAID server. Overall I am very happy with this choice.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's an ASUS

Pros: This is the mATX version of the sabertooth. It's an ASUS mobo that's built Ford/ASUS Tuf. What else did you expect?

Cons: Like the other review said some of the software included is not really necessary. If your planning to OC make sure you know what to do as this thing has no real automation for it.

These aren't really cons but, depending on what bios version u got with ur mobo ur 1st priority might be to update the bios. This only applies if ur installing a new gen cpu. Last thing is the Sata Ports are reversed(check the manual)

Other Thoughts: I bought this along w/the armor kit and an i7 4790k. All i gotta say is that everything works beautifully. If your looking for a balanced mATX board that won't go down w/o a fight... look no futher.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Board

Pros: Great middle ground between the Maximus VII Gene and the Z97M-PLUS. It is a Sabertooth board so you get the 5 year warranty and the neat little certificate of reliability.

ooked up everything (i7-4770k, 16gb HyperX 1866mhz, 660ti) and it worked perfectly. Memory defaulted to its top speed (1866mhz) which was a pleasant surprise since most other boards I have used start at 1600mhz and you have to manually turn it up to its advertised speed. No problems from this board over a week later.

Cons: Ai Suite 3 is utterly useless. This is not the same Ai Suite 3 that the other boards get. This is the Sabertooth special version which only comes with Thermal Radar 2. There is no Dual Intelligent Processor 5 or Autotuning, no Fan expert, no Turbov Evo, no Turbo LAN. Thermal Radar 2 is nothing more than a glorified fan controlling and temp monitoring software. And it doesn't even do that well. There is no way to set the refresh rate of the sensor polling so it so slow and updates about once ever 2 seconds which makes it useless to me. The thermal efficiency tuner is cool but only for the first few times you use it but overall it serves no point. HWMonitor, CPU-Z and SpeedFan can do the same job as Thermal Radar 2 only much better.

Another thing that irritates me about Thermal Radar 2 is that it is advertised as a Radar so you would expect a diagram or a map of the board showing all the temps and their respective sensor locations. Thermal Radar 2 only gives you a long list of the temp sensors.

Ai Suite 3 for this board is overall useless and I am suggesting that you dont even install it. Other programs do a much better job at giving sensor data or controlling fans. The excellent bios on this board is also an option.

Other Thoughts: Mine shipped with Bios version 801 which is the very first one so you will have to update if you want the 4790k to work.

This board may be small but it can hang with the premium juggernauts out there. Great bios, quality, and easy of use easily make up for Ai Suite 3's short falls. Highly recommend.
