5 out of 5 eggsGood inexpensive board

Pros: Price, boots very quickly, no hangups easy to setup

Cons: none really for an economical board

Other Thoughts: very good board for "normal" use internet browsing, business or schoolwork....Sempron 3000+,Talent 512mb ram 400watt psu,80Gig HD....would definate purchase this board for other clients.

5 out of 5 eggsEconomical perfomer

Pros: I have built four boxes using a combo ECS 761GX-M754 moboard and an AMD Sempron 3000+ CPU with no problems at all.

I highly recommend a PCIe video card, preferably an inexpensive nVidia card with 128-256megs and 1 gigabyte DDR memory for the moboard and you have a very inexpensive but excellent performer.

I own one myself and am pleased with the speed and very reliable. I really prefer the SiS chipset over the more common VIA chipset.

Cons: The onboard video is very poor partly because of how the memory is shared by the CPU - ECS 741GX actually has far superior onboard video despite being older technology.

This is why a PCIe 16X video card turns this mobo into a winner.

Other Thoughts: Lots of features at a dead low price. You can get better performance but you are4 going to pay more.

I have installed many ECS motherboards over the years with a very low return rate.

My high 5 rating is based on good performance at a very low price.

Look for combo sales with CPU and memory and then score an nVidia PCIe video card.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst motherboard I have ever had

Pros: Doesn't boot. 2 DOS mobos. What else needs to be said?

Cons: Well, just doesn't work. No support available from ECS.

Other Thoughts: I have owned one other ECS product in my life. This will most certainly be the last. My frustration with this one build has nearly convinced never to bother with sites like Newegg and just deal with major vendors like HP or IBM.

1 out of 5 eggsNot sure how good it works

Pros: large feature set, SATA, 2 IDE, onboard video.

Cons: Have yet to see anything in action. have received 3 DOA boards. i recieve no video when i try to boot

Other Thoughts: after rma'ing twice through newegg, i have decided to send it in to ESC. Their tech has had me try all these things on it and it still wont display video.

I have tried 3 power supplies, 2 processers and 4 memory sticks.

I had never thought it possible to have 3 dead boards in a row. well judging by the coments, while i'm not the only one to get a dead one, people did get working boards so i cant dog on ECS too much

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: reliable cheap deal, SATA HD support

Cons: 'obsolete' processor socket/memory standard

Other Thoughts: bought combo w/retail Sempron for father, put it together - loaded linux and windows no problem.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I built this computer for my bosses mom, She was so happy with it she would not stop thanking me. Her Dell computer broke on her, and she couldn't get them to help her, When they finally talked to her it would have cost her more to fix it then for her to have me build it through newegg. Thanks again you guys ROCK!!!

Cons: None None None

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good cheap upgrade or low budget build. Once you jump through flaming hoops, throw salt over your shoulder, spin around while jumping up and down on one leg to get set up, you will be fine.

Cons: This thing drove me crazy to get set up. Very tempermental. ECS quality poor and there is not a lot of resources to help. Takes a week and a half to boot, actually 3 minutes.

Other Thoughts: After getting through it all it's a pretty stable system and fast. Decent wallet stuffer. System = This MB, Athlon 64 3200, 2 gb Corsair 400, BFG 7950GT OC,500GB SATA HD.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks For Me

Pros: Easy to install. Good spacing. Decent manual.

Cons: First one was defective. USB ports didn't work and something was wrong with the on-board sound.

Other Thoughts: First off, I'm not an expert and don't really know what I'm doing. I still manage to muddle my way through when building and updating computers. That said, after I did an RMA on the first one, this motherboard was very easy for me to install. No problems with new one so far.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't bother with

Pros: Price is good

Cons: Software drivers are useless. I wanted to upgrade existing machine and utilize all other hardware except MB and CPU. Drivers will not allow this - keep crashing hard drive and wiping boot portion of Windows XP. CD drivers don't work at all - the above problems came from online "current" drivers.

Other Thoughts: ECS products generally good for the money - but their SW development is sorely lacking of late and customer support is nonexistant!

5 out of 5 eggsDoes The Job!!

Pros: really nice. for the price you can't really beat it. has really good spacing so its easy to install new chips.

Cons: Can't think of any

Other Thoughts: if your just planning to put together a good PC this should be the motherboard you get.
