5 out of 5 eggsOk for a cheap board

Pros: I didn't expect too much from this board, but it seems to meet the specs listed with no issues. I've installed Ubuntu 8.04 with no problems. No driver issues or anything to report.

Cons: It'd be nice if the BIOS had a few more options, but I can live with what it has.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent microATX value

Pros: Supports Core 2 Quad and Duo processors with 1333 FSB. 4 RAM slots hold up to 8GB. On-board video, HD audio, gigabit LAN. Inexpensive, especially with mail-in rebate offer.

Cons: Video connector is analog, not DVI. No IDE connector, which is only a con when using legacy drives.

Other Thoughts: I did not overclock. My system includes Intel E6550, Kingston DDR2 800 RAM, WD 320GB hard drive, Lite-On DVD, Antec case with 380W power. I installed Ubuntu 7.10 Linux with no issues - video, audio, LAN, USB all functioning.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MB so far.

Pros: This would be my good experience with ECS. This motherboard provided me with absolutely no hassle with installation or otherwise. Everything fired up properly, it remains stable in my customer's computer, and it was the right price.

Cons: Was kind of disappointed that it didn't have both an FDD AND a PATA socket on the motherboard, but we all have to accept change.

Other Thoughts: I've had mixed luck with ECS (specifically with the model down from this), but this board has been hassle-free so far. Great value for the price.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat board

Pros: was free, very stable never had any problems in the 6 months i owned it, had my e6750 @ 3.4. with no problems

Cons: limited bios, no voltage settings other than ram. Took 3 mins to load vista ultimate (would just sit there with no activity other than the green bar loading) I installed xp sp2 and it worked great.
I/O ahield is cheap and a p.i.t.a. to install.

Other Thoughts: had gskill ddr2 800, lower it to 667 when overclocking.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Nice little board. HD audio, 4 sata ports, 4 ram slots. Very basic overclocking capabilities. I have a 2.3GHz 6550 overclocked to 2.8Ghz by setting CPU clock to 400Mhz and dropping RAM to 667Mhz (which becomes 800mhz due to CPU overclock). Very stable.

Cons: Limited overclocking capabilties. No IDE (which I don't care about due to no IDE devices). Also, couldn't install XP (not XP SP2) using a CD. Blue screened everytime which meant I had to install Vista.

Other Thoughts: I'd probably go with a different product if I had it to do again just for more overclocking capabilities. Overall, though, it's a decent board.

4 out of 5 eggsA Budget Buy

Pros: Good for the price. Fast sata. Not much else to say...

Cons: WARNING ***ONLY FLOPPY IDE*** WARNING
***MAKE SURE YOUR DVD/CD OR ANY OTHER DRIVE IS "SATA"***
It doesnt come woth any sata to 4 prong power converters.
Also, awkward to install in some cases.

Other Thoughts: Good buy for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsOne More Note

Pros: Great "Budget Mobo...

Cons: This board only supports DIMM voltages up to 2.0, and there is no planned fix BIOS wise (per ECS Support(USA) Posted : GMT 2008/02/25 19:16:33
Unfortunately, the memory voltage can only support up to 2.0V due to the hardware limit.
)... So don't plan on using 4-4-4-14 memory in this board...

Other Thoughts: This is still a good motherboard for a budget build but you do get what you pay for chipset wise...

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great. All you need is a couple of drivers and it is set to go.

Cons: Only 4 SATAII ports, 1 PCI-x16, no IDE (had to buy SATA DVD drive), does have Floppy (who uses these days ?), PCI-x16 slopt too close to RAM slots and SATA, a 8800 GTX might definetly hit them.

Other Thoughts: Other than the cons, there is no problems I have with the board. I know it is micro ATX but they could have come up with a better placement for the PCI-x16 slots like below the PCI slots or something. works great with my setup: E6850, A-DATA 2x2048, 8800GT OC, 1x750GB, 2x250Gb,SATA DVDR/RW.

1 out of 5 eggsICH9 is unusable!!!

Pros: The motherboard works exactly as stated. Excepting SATA support in WinXP. Vista would probably work great.

Cons: Installing WinXP on a new system was entirely impossible. As the system only has SATA ports on the motherboard (no IDE), one would think that there would be some driver somewhere that windows would recognize for ICH9 (non-raid) support. No dice. Intel, Microsoft, ECS, and 3rd party has NOTHING for this issue. Don't buy if installing a new system with WinXP!!!

Other Thoughts: If I had any idea that ICH9 was not really supported anywhere, I wouldn't have even tried this board. And now I cannot RMA because I sent away for the rebate... :(
