2 out of 5 eggsOk while works, hard get RMA if fails

Pros: Using in kid's PC, had no complains till it failed.

Cons: Failed after a year. Getting RMA is a nightmare. Had to go through the tech support. Had to call several times (they weren't easy to reach), the 800 number didn't work and couldn't do it online. Was forced to test the board outside of the case and put memory sticks into different PC (testing the board w/ one stick at a time wasn't enough proof for the tech support that memory is not the problem).

1 out of 5 eggsMy Experience Thus Far..

Pros: As I read the many other reviews, I can't find too many pros..I bought the board from Newegg on 3/17/10 and it failed just short of 3 months.
Although I am not at all pleased with the results of getting this replaced, I will offer a compliment to the tech (Mitch) with whom I dealt. I don't fault him for having to follow company policy, but I do fault the company for that policy.

Cons: Since it was beyond 30 days and Newegg wouldn't exchange it, I had to go through the agony that most of the other posters experienced.
After numerous emails as well as phone calls, I was put through the ringer as well.
I asked early on if I could give them my credit card and have them advance replace the board and was told that when I was contacted by repair with an RMA, I could ask them.
I explained that all was well for almost 3months, but I had to pledge my first born in order to pass go. Had to read the almost invisible numbers on the CPU, although it had been working...the numbers on the RAM..power supply..VGA card and then remove the board for a bench test...all of which I had already done.

Other Thoughts: From what I am reading, I will have to pay my own freight to send the board under warranty??
Considering this, I will in the next 24 hours think about buying a different board and give the replacement to one of my kids.

Interestingly, I keep another ECS board on another machine, primarily to be able to do some back up and after replacing all the vital parts from the bad board, it worked well.
My overall rating is not so much with the board as it is with the repair policy of ECS.

Good Luck to all of us..

5 out of 5 eggsNice, cheap, got the rebate!

Pros: Purchased on 3/15/10, got rebate 6/16/10. Total price: $34.99. Has been flawless in performance, working with Win 7 64 bit, OEM AMD Phenom X4 9750 Agena, 4 gb of SDRAM DDR2 1066, and CORSAIR CMPSU-400CX 400W ATX12V power supply. Using it as a HTPC with two Avermedia Duets as tuners, and can record up to 4 OTA channels at once, while playing another. Ended up being a ridiculously cheap but effective computer, very smooth build that fired right up with first push of the power button. Gratifying.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If you can get it with the rebate, get it. There are probably better boards at full price.

As usual, great service from NewEgg!!

2 out of 5 eggsSo now

Pros: While it was working fine, well it worked fine. Not a single issue or complication and it came at a decent price.

Cons: After about 5 months of having it my sata 250gb drive and cd drives both stopped functioning correctly. I called to talk with them and they went with the standard grounding issue testing. On here they posted it to another user stating to use antistatic as a base (they didn't tell me that but I did it for my own cause) however during testing my PSU flashed and died in a blaze of glory. After testing it on another pc to find out it was dead I had no option for testing and called them back. The person i talked to seemed genuinely disappointed that my psu went and told me he'd talk to RMA and get them to send me a new motherboard. so in the free time I ordered a new psu and waited and traveled to my bothers to check my email. Well they emailed me back asking for me to send my mobo back to them (not reimbursing my cost even though it still has a long warranty) and then after they receive it and check it out I can be sent a new one.

Other Thoughts: A. Why send an email to the person who you know has no computer now?
B. Why even though I sent you my complete system specs did you get my motherboard type wrong when calling me back.
C. Why do I have to spend money and wait even longer for a motherboard I really need?
D. Why can't you do what most reputable companies do and either reimburse me or even send me a new product and a tag to send you back my old one. And if I don't send you the old one you bill me.

I dunno I'm still pretty harsh on ECS. Some people have a mortgage to pay, not replace pc components that are 5 months old.
But all in all despite the rant, the board was pretty decent, just hopefully yours has no issues if you have to purchase it. And if you do, regardless of what you tell them they will treat you like a five year old with a sub atomic reactor to build.

Manufacturer Response:

We sincerely apologize for any miscommunication that you may have encountered.

Normally we can consider a pre paid label for recent purchases but after that we must follow our standard return procedure.

We can provide cross shipment to help alleviate down time, if you have not already sent your motherboard. Please contact us for details and we would need to find out your previous case information.

5 out of 5 eggsrock solid mobo

Pros: cheap with rebate and one of the best am2+ boards i've ever owned.

Cons: not much headroom but i was only repairing existing systems and not upgrading.

Other Thoughts: i first bought one of these to resurrect some old parts and it proved to be better than my current rig - booting faster etc. coincidentally my main computer mobo also crapped out so i ended up getting 2 of these overall, and they've been running 24/7 ever since with no problems.
granted, i'm only running am2 processors but this was really the most cost-effective solution. just remember to buy it with a rebate.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Great board, You don't have to be careful with it like some posts said. The board is as rigid has the stock board it replaced. I had no driver errors running on windows 7 64 bit in a Silverstone HTPC case. With the set up below it is running very cool. I do wish it had 1 extra on-board fan plug. As others had suggested I did clear the CMOS and booted it with 1 ram stick in it, than shut it down changed the jumper to normal loaded the rest of the ram and booted it, loaded default settings and had no problems. The only problem I had was, as an after thought I tried to use the install disk but it wouldn't work on Win 7 64 said non supported OS, but I didn't need it anyway, so no big thing. Overall a good board I have no complaints.

Athlon 64x2 4200 at 2.2 GHz
8 Gig ram 800MHz
Nvidia Genforce 9600Gt
Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatality
500 Watt power supply

Cons: None so far

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Satguy,

Thank you for your feed back on the product! It is a great pleasure to read the feed back from you.

I like to work with you and see which install disk are you speaking of that did not work with Windows 7, it could be due to the product was released prior to Windows 7 launch.

Thank you again for the great feed back, if you can let me know more details on the install disk it would be appreciated. Also feel free to contact me anytime if you should have any additional questions.

Thanks

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed.

Pros: Cheap board.

Cons: Well, i seem to be having the same issue as everyone else. No video, beeps, just the fans and LED lights. I clearded the cmos more times than i care to count, have individually removed the ram, cd drive, and hdd. Its not any of my computer parts because they all work on the old mobo i replaced with this. I have 450w power supply and i can't imagine it needing more... I suggest using your money on another. This one has too high of a risk of being terrible.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear about the no POST issues you have experienced so far.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Board

Pros: Nice price for the board
Three PCI Slots
Two PCI-Ex1 slots
Four RAM slots at a low price
Has Held up quite well for right about a month now
No onboard video to worry about interfering with the discrete card (have had it happen before)

Cons: Slightly flimsy, but not too bad...nothing really bad for me to this point.

Other Thoughts: Just a word of advice for installing this motherboard; first line of the standoffs in your case where needed, then (with the motherboard on top of the cardboard manufacturer's box) install the gpu, cpu, ram and any other pci or pci-e x1 cards into the board, THEN install it into the case. This will help to prevent bending the motherboard too much.

My rig: This mobo, Athlon IIx2 250, Sapphire 1GB 4650, 4x1GB A-Data DDR2-800, XP Home SP3, Dinosaur of a case, 575W HEC PSU. Fairly energy efficient and gets done what I need it to do.

2 out of 5 eggsGood Board - Bad RMA

Pros: Everything sets up very nice - bought a couple for custom build for customers - good board good price!

Cons: Had one bad board and had to go through ECS - I've been doing this for 20 years - no post, no video - good CPU, good mem, good video card - tested in and out of the case still no joy - 2 weeks later they still have not given an RMA - now they want the specs of the CPU and power supply and the memory! RMA process through them is like pulling teeth - just bad!!!!!

Other Thoughts: Same as above

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: 4 ram slots
full size atx
4 sata
easy overclocking abilities

Cons: the four sata slots are not strategically placed because if you buy a big graphics card ( which most people will do if they have this motherboard), then it will cover two of the sata's ports. Also I went through a frustrating week of trying to get this thing to work. I would reset the cmos then it would boot, but then when i saved the settings and rebooted, nothing showed up. I tryed that like 50 times. I finally figured out that it was the ram because when I took out 1 gb, it started working fine.

Other Thoughts: Im still waiting for my harddrive so I haven't tested an os on it yet.
