1 out of 5 eggsDOA - closing the loop

Pros: None.

Cons: Everything. every time i post here ecs says contact them and yet when i do they never respond. I bought an Asus motherboard and all was right with the world. I will never buy another ECS product now will i sell them to my clients.

Other Thoughts: Interesting sidebar and something that should be noted - after ordering the new motherboard from NewEgg i had it shipped overnight and it failed to arrive on time (even after paying express processing). Not only would NewEgg not refund the shipping (after all, it was their DIY) i was told that i was lucky that they let me return the ECS board for a refund and they while they sell the DIY bundles they make no promises that the components will work together. Oh My.

If i told that to a customer i would never get repeat business. NewEgg should be ashamed of themselves for not standing behind their sales and not doing the right thing to remedy the situation. If customer service is truly our greatest point to impact customer loyalty both NewEgg and ECS failed.

Coolermaster - nicely done.

1 out of 5 eggsStill DOA - Bad Support All Around

Pros: The support for the case and power supply was good.

Cons: I purchased this as part of a DIY package from New Egg. The mother board didn't work and i open a case directly with ECS (by email since their site doesn't list a number that is easily found). I heard back after a few days. Not particularly helpful. The net result was that ECS claims not to support the processor that New Egg sold as part of the bundle. Basically, no interest in helping whatsoever.

Other Thoughts: The entire process here was a mess. When i contacted New Egg after being blown off by ECS they seemed indifferent that they were selling something that wasn't supported by the manufacturer. I wound up return the board and purchasing a new one. I also paid for overnight shipment which i think New Egg should have paid for. Even when it didn't arrive on time they refused to refund the overnight shipping (and express processing) fees.

It seems that both ECS and New Egg are only interested in moving product and not customer satisfaction. That being the case i can get bad service and a low price anyplace.

Pros: None as of yet.

Cons: Plugged the board into the case and nothing. Power light comes in the box and the power supply was tested successfully. I have a call into ECS tech support so we shall see.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: After I installed everything it runs faster than my First International mother board.

Cons: I had to upgrade everything in my computer, the optical drive and the hard disk drives, beacause it came with four SATA sockets and one IDE sockets.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy and works

Pros: Easy board to set up. Not a lot of unnecessary things on it to make a build hard for a beginner. for simple surfing of the web and school processing will work like a dream. On board video is a plus.

Cons: none so far for our purpose.

Other Thoughts: This is our second computer for home office work/school computer. were not doing any serious gaming or anything like that on it.

1 out of 5 eggsWould rather have this DOA

Pros: It comes with a neat cardboard box. Also I just got my check for the 20 dollar mail in rebate. Expect it to take about 3 months.

Cons: Where to begin. This motherboard has been a pain in the side from day one. I think I would have preferred a DOA product to this slow torture of having to deal with this thing. I'll name the problems I've encountered in order.

First off, when I shut down, I would get a BSOD and the system would restart. So than I have to turn it off, again.

Second problem, the GPU started failing on my a few days after I got my computer set up. Windows would lock up and a whole bunch of lines would just streak across the screen. I got this problem 1-3 times a day before the the whole computer became unsuable. I was forced to get a seperate graphics card to work around this. so for the next few months the motherboard works without too much problem aside fromt he bsod from shutting down.

Next problem is just unacceptable. Windows would just freeze completely. I couldnt even start the computer and google the problem before the thing gives out. And when the thing is working, USB ports would fail

Other Thoughts: This is the first and last motherboard from ECS that I'm buying. I havent even had this for 3 months and already its failed on me catastrophically. Not even a check for 20 dollars is going to make me feel better.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Board for the price

Pros: Good price after rebate. The board seems to do everything as advertised, though I haven't tried everything, either.

Cons: bought over 2 months ago, still haven't gotten the rebate, though ECS did confirm they were processing it. Those usually do take some time anyway.

Other Thoughts: For a basic build this board was the right choice. I replaced Mobo+CPU+ram in an old computer for under $100 using this board, a basic dual-core celeron, and a 1 gig DDR2 ram chip.

3 out of 5 eggsNothing to write home about

Pros: Cheap(if I get the rebate),DVI out,HD audio is nice,Stable operation with E5200, Posted out of tthe box.

Cons: NO cpu temp monitoring (I find this too strange to be true), no PCI x 2.0,Poor ecs customer service.

Other Thoughts: Called ecs tech support to find out about bios monitoring and he promised to call back with info......but i'm still waiting after 4 days.
