1 out of 5 eggsaudio problems with windows xp

Pros: cheap.

Cons: I installed win xp 64. The audio worked but I have 4 errors in device manager in other devices for hi def audio bus. No matter what i tryed I could not get them to load. I tryed everything. Install win xo 32 and had some problem but this time no sound at all.
I installed win 7 64 ultimate and everything was fine.
The guy I was building this for wanted xp only. I called ECS and they were unaware of this problem, ? cmon !
Anyway I bought anyother mb and will use this one for a win7 build.

Other Thoughts: I have used budget boards many times and have had not many problems. Most of them run for a long time with no problems. Not sure why people spent so much on a mb?

5 out of 5 eggs2nd time around

Pros: when it was running it was fast and smooth

Cons: none it went out around the holidays so it took longer for the response time on that it was my fault it came with a amd package triple core and again i took it as sending back it was counted as one unit so that's what i put down was 1 pieces
so i got knocked out of a cpu' again my fault there is no con and i still didnt write them back on that issue, i feel stupid cause i work on these things everyday lol
as the holidays went by and the day they said they would be back in i received a new replacement 4 days later so all the time combined together with out the holidays about 2 weeks down time and they where nice.

Other Thoughts: yea i have bought around 7 boards over the last few yrs putting together for friends and this was the 1st return i had to do. i would say if you need a good response board without all the bells and whistles this would be that board and i will buy from them again without worry and when i can im going for the autographed board next time... yes i recommend this unit,,,so far i used anther cpu and it still working 3 days 24-7now ...
thank you

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Works great for a budget board. Fired right up on new system w/AMD Phenom II x4, Win 7, 4GB 1333. Windows 7 found all generic drivers. I was up and running 30 minutes after power up; including Win 7 OEM install.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If you are building a budget system, you can't beat ECS. Out of over 50 systems built with ECS boards, I only had 1 bad board.

1 out of 5 eggsNewegg is Great, but this Motherboard Sucks

Pros: Not much of any pros other than the price.

Cons: Where do I start?? I had terrible trouble with getting on the internet. I had to put in my DNS info. Aggravating!! Next I had lots of trouble with the onboard audio. Used the drivers that the board came with. Nothing. Downloaded drivers from ECS. Nothing. Called ECS they recommended that I install XP Home SP2 over my freshly installed brand new copy of XP Home SP3. Ludacris!! I was tinkering around with the settings in HD Audio Deck and this is how I was able to work around it: Go to Jack, Go to Configuration, Make sure you only have a check mark in redirected headphone box. This allowed my onboard audio to work in the green plug only. I still am having trouble with the Card Reader. Apparently the spare USB 1 plug on the board isn't working and causes the others to fault out. As soon as I unplug it xp recognizes my card reader. But, then I loose the USB ports on the case. Looks like I lose 2 case USB ports cause I'm done fighting this stinking MB.

Other Thoughts: Save yourself some hassle and don't buy this board. I'm not sure if all ECS products are as bad as this one. If they are don't expect to see them around for long.

4 out of 5 eggsECS motherboard

Pros: Good budget board, reasonable BIOS options. Runs extremely cool. Manual is excellent.

Cons: Position of SATA inputs prevented the use of my dual GPU video card (it was too long).

5 out of 5 eggsNo issues...and Cheap!

Pros: This was the cheapest motherboard I could find that runs Windows 7-32 bit with no issues.

Cons: None at this price point.

Other Thoughts: Used this to resurrect a one-year old AMD Acer system that wouldn't support Windows 7!! Simply replaced the board with this one, moved over the memory and AM2 processor and everything fired right up without issue. On-board graphics are decent enough for the basic use this computer is being used for: web surfing, watching on-line videos. All in all, a good deal -- especially since I had never tried this company's products before and was prepared for the worst!

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Had no problems and worked great for what I needed it to do. No problems with a new vid card and 1333 memory.

Cons: Only 2 slots for ram. PCI-E 1.0... Spend a few extra bucks for 2.0 and more slots if you plan to game or anything.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works out the box; as everything should.
Simple and easy BIOS.

Cons: Onboard audio does not work. It will work in my front header, but not the rear ports.
Only 1 IDE connector...I haven't joined the SATA revolution yet.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your purchase and thank you for your review.

Does the audio work from the rear if you disconnect your front panel audio?

We would like to look into this audio issue with you and find a possible solution.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks good

Pros: It is very affordable and works! I have had for a few months now and not a single issue. Great for those on a budget.

Cons: It is not really overclock friendly. Larger video cards will cover up the 1x slot and one of the sata plugins. Space is an expected issue with a micro atx, just keep it in mind.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your purchase and your feed back.

4 out of 5 eggsJust FIne

Pros: Works right out of box. For the other reviewers with troubles: you got a bad mobo. Replace it via RMA and you're done.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: can't overclock but who cares it's $35
