5 out of 5 eggsrather nice

Pros: well built, heavy, over clocked my 955 to 4.2ghz no problem

Cons: mounting bracket for cpu is lame but holds a zalman 92mm up right cooler just fine, not all solid caps

Other Thoughts: rates higher than my $120 board lol

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Value

Pros: Using this with a Phenom II X2 555 & Kingston DDR3 1600, and Gigabyte Radeon 5450OC. Didn't unlock the cores, but overclocked stable to 4.4Ghz with an Asus Triton 70. Decided to leave it at 4.0Ghz and call it a day.

Cons: 10/100 LAN in 2011? Come on.

Other Thoughts: This was the budget build from a bunch of spare parts. Has been stable with AMD 11.11 drivers.

5 out of 5 eggsNice MB

Pros: Nice looks
Easy to install
Working fine for 3 days
OCing is possible!
Best board for 41$

Cons: Bios is kind of tricky with timings and such.
Had to update BIOS to recognize my CPU's full speed.
Manually set timings for RAM on 1600 Mhz mode.

Other Thoughts: Running a PII x4 830 @3.36ghz (Stock is 2.8)

I had to update my mb's bios or else it would be running at 2.1 stock.

I Bought some Kingston HyperX DDR3-1600 speeds
but i have to manually adjust timings or the Auto CAS would be 11 instead of 9.

It is one smexy looking board!

1 out of 5 eggsWhat warranty?

Pros: Older board worked for 2 years.

Cons: After 2+ years, the board died.

Other Thoughts: My "Black" version of an ECS board died after 2 years. ECS warranty is supposedly 3 years.

Contacted ECS support and received this incredible response:

"You had claimed that the board was bought back in June of 2009, so this motherboard has worked for 2 years without issues .

However if you look into the following link, and click on the CPU_TAB the particular CPU that you are using is NOT listed. So please check. Sometimes an unlisted CPU may damage the board in the long run."

The processor in question was a Phenom Quad core.

You have to give ECS credit for achieving a new level of weaseling out of a warranty. Adjectives like unethical and fraudulent certainly come to mind.

Needless to say I will never buy another ECS product again.

Manufacturer Response:

We sincerely apologize for any miscommunication that you may have encountered and would like to look into your concerns. If your motherboard is under warranty it is unlikely we would deny it due to using an over spec CPU.

Please contact us so we may look into your previous case and ensure it is proceeding as it should.

When contacting us, you can refer to case #ECD11111810011

I or any of my team members here at technical support will be able to help you.
Our hours are Mon-Fri 9am-6pm PST.

Thank you,
Andy
