Pros: Cheap and for just HTPC usage, I can't complain

Cons: DON'T LOOSE YOUR ORIGINAL CD. Their website is worse than Zeros to the left. The links send you to wrong places. I was looking for Chipset drivers for Windows 8 and aside from taking about 20 minutes to download, what I got was the VGA Drivers... ditto with Vista drivers.

No, they are not reverse, I took the time to download ALL their drivers and couldn't find Chipset drivers anywhere.

Other Thoughts: Sometimes you get what you paid for and as long as you don't need drivers or their website... you are A OK.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear about the driver issues you experienced. When checking the Windows 8 chipset driver on the download page for this motherboard they look to be correct. After downloading and running the setup it will start the Catalyst Install Manager. Doing an express install will install the following components: AMD Catalyst Install Manager, MS Visual C++ 2010, AMD USB Filter Driver, AMD SMBus Driver and AMD SATA Controller Driver. You can double check this by doing a custom install, instead of express.

1 out of 5 eggsECS Fan

Pros: Booted up

Cons: Garbage Bios and with no recent updates. Did not recognise pc 1600 vengance memory ran at 1333 this may just be a bios issue as this processer is a new unlocked a-6 2.7 . Called tech support they called me back next day and said the ram works in their rig but they did not run the same processer ........this turns me off on all future ECS purchases

Other Thoughts: none

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear about the issues you have experienced with your new motherboard. We currently do not have issues with A6-3670K running memory at 1600MHz after manually adjusting in the BIOS. You can contact us so we may look into your previous case and help find a solution.

3 out of 5 eggsAcceptable cheap board

Pros: Works, mostly stable

Cons: Very quirky, especially if I try messing with the BIOS

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a cheap board to throw in a computer, not a bad board, but probably better bang for your buck elsewhere. Kind of surprised, generally been very satisfied with ECS products in the past

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: It got to the Bios

Cons: All sata ports were dead. All of them. Phone support guy acted nice, but talked to me like it was my fault. Never Buying from the again.

Other Thoughts: I understand one or two DOA sata ports, but all of them... That is ridiculous.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I needed

Pros: Has all of the features I was looking for at a decent price. Seems to be fairly well made. Paired with a A6-3670K. I have not had the issues that the other reviewer had, but I did update the bios the same day I put everything together.

Cons: Only 1 fan header. Cursor movement in bios seems slightly laggy, but not too noticeable.

Other Thoughts: Overall, pretty nice motherboard. I would buy another if I needed to.

4 out of 5 eggsResponse to Jason

Pros: I already reviewed this board, and I still think it's a good board. I just wanted to defend it against Jason's mediocre review.

I've never had any problem with this board when I put it into sleep with a device connected to the USB3 ports, including my wireless keyboard, remote receiver and a usb wireless network adapter. However, I did update the bios before doing anything else. If the problem existed, I never saw it.

I also decided to test out the thermal sensor issue mentioned. After some testing I think I know what Jason saw happening. When the system is put into sleep and the cpu fan spins down, left over heat from the cpu is no longer being dissipated quickly. The heatsink gets noticeably warmer to the touch. I think that the little stock heat sink is getting saturated with heat. When this happens, the thermal sensor in the cpu gets much warmer. When the computer comes out of sleep, it reads this higher temp and speeds up the fan to cool it off. See other thoughts for more

Cons: No cons other than what I previously stated about wishing the board had more fan headers.

Other Thoughts: If you have this board and observe this behavior, just let it sit for a while. The fan speed should drop as well as the cpu temp, it just may take some time. Also try letting the machine sit in sleep over night. This behavior shouldn't happen at all since the cpu and heatsink have much more time to cool off. I also think that if the stock heatsink on the FM1 processors were larger, this also may not happen to begin with. Now I will say that maybe Jason got a buggy board, but maybe he should try testing more thoroughly. And if he has, he should say so.

As for the issue with the BIOS screen being cut off when using HDMI, I can't say one way or the other since I'm using a DVI to HDMI cable and don't have this problem. When I can get an standard HDMI cable, I may post an update.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks, but buggy

Pros: System is stable and motherboard works out of the box. Has a good amount of options (USB3, VGA/HDMI/DVI outputs, etc). Easy install and quick to setup. CPU FAN control is good when it is working.

Cons: I've encountered a lot of buggy behavior from this board. If you plug any device into the high-current USB ports, it prevents the computer from sleeping. Plug the same device into another USB port, and the computer sleeps fine. The BIOS screen is partially cut off when using HDMI outputs. It makes it difficult to use their GUI interface to adjust the BIOS. When you come out of sleep, the board's thermal sensors think it is overheating and puts the CPU fan at high speeds. Another program says the CPU temp is ok.

Other Thoughts: I have no problems with the limited options on a budget board, but I expect the given options to work. If you don't care about a buggy BIOS/motherboard behavior, then the board is quite nice. I guess I shouldn't have purchased a board without a lot of reviews.

Manufacturer Response:

If you haven't already, please contact us. We would like to look into and address the issues you are currently having.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat board for the price.

Pros: I have this paired with an A4-3400 CPU in a media pc and it seems to work great so far. The Realtek sound chip on this board is one of the ones fully supported by PowerDVD for Blu-Ray playback. Haven't tried the HDMI yet, but I'm using a DVI to HDMI cable that can transmit sound and that works as well. The motherboard header for connecting front panel USB3 will be useful once I get a case that has front USB3.

The price was right as well. This plus the CPU was only $115.98

Cons: I wish it had more fan headers, but the previous board in my media pc had just as few, so I can live with that. The UEFI is pretty looking, but the mouse movement is slow and laggy, so I just end up using the keyboard for navigation like in any old bios before.

Other Thoughts: I know people have been buying this board because it's sold out before, yet no one until me has bothered to review it. I decided to be a guinea pig and try the thing out. Just look at the features of this board before you buy. You may not like how few fan headers it has, or there may be other things you may not like. Otherwise, it does not disappoint as a media pc motherboard.
