4 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: More ports! runs smooth and easy to use

Cons: Only gripe (hence 4/5)
has 6 SATA ports....they sit directly behind where my HDD #1 bay is.
A pain when I install new drives. Will have to move my main HDD down when I get my next one in.

4 out of 5 eggsChanged my mind

Pros: Price, has four Sata3 ports

Cons: Manual is kind of skimpy and has at least one error in describing the Sata ports configuration.

Other Thoughts: After working with Tech Support I now understand why the Sata3 ports don't show correctly in the Bios, I don't like it, but they seem to work ok, so I've revised my rating.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Impressed

Pros: Price?

Cons: Installed board but can't get Sata ports 5&6 to recognize and drives. Drives and cables all work when rotated through ports 1-4 so it's not them. Manual is confusing because on page 20 item 1 it says ports 3-6 are used to support Sata2 devices while ports 1-2 support Sata3. ECS website and Newegg details say board has 4 Sata6 ports, which is why I bought the board. ECS support website is worthless, it won't even let me submit a tech reports, keeps saying "fill in required information" but it's all filled in. Guess I'll try to call their support number (it wasn't in any of the manuals or paperwork or on the Support website) but I got it from another review of a different ECS board.

Manufacturer Response:

Ports 1-4 are controlled by the Intel chipset. Ports 5-6 are controlled by Asmedia 1061 chipset. Ports 1-4 will show in the BIOS under SATA configuration. Ports 5-6 has its own Asmedia ROM and any devices connected to these ports will show during POST prior to going to the BIOS or your OS. Even though ports 5-6 will not appear in the SATA configuration section of the BIOS, they will still show in the boot priority and you will be able to adjust the boot priority accordingly. For reference, the support phone number can also be found in the "Quick Info" section of each ECS product listed on Newegg. 5 out of 5 eggsPort Laden

Pros: I bought this because of the available ports, and connectivity, that it has. This was/is to replace a "Black" series that I bought as soon as the Sandy Bridge debacle was remedied a couple of years ago.
It installed without a hitch and my machine (computer lab test and/or recovery station) was up and running in quick fashion.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Although none of the documentation in this ad suggests, it is a member of the "Black" series in the ECS lineup. You'll see that on their website. The "Black" series is a step up from the regular series using the same basic chipsets.

This board replaced an ATX-M that I have been exceptionally satisfied with, except for its limitation on size and/or ports.
