2 out of 5 eggsDead RAM slot

Pros: Cheap

Cons: One of the RAM slot was dead out of the box. Tried with various working RAM from other PCs in the defective slot and the board will not boot up. It boots up for 2 sec and restarts. Indefinite looping till I removed the RAM from the defective slot.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the shipping fee for warranty. Will keep the board and double up the capacity of the memory stick in the working slot.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear about the memory issues you are having. Prior to shipping from our factory, all motherboards are tested to ensure that they are working properly. For this issue we would recommend the following if you haven't already tried. Reseat the CPU, to help ensure that CPU and the socket pins are making proper contact. When reseating, inspect the socket for any bent/misaligned pins. Check the memory slot in question for any bent pins.

Remove the motherboard from the case, with only CPU, CPU fan, memory and power supply connected. Place on a flat non static surface.

If you continue to have issues, please feel free to contact us. We would like to work with you in finding a solution.

I or any of my team members here at technical support will be able to help you.
Our hours are Mon-Fri 9am-6pm PST.

Thank you,
Andy

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Value value value. Tiny size. Full-sized pci-e slot. It isn't going to blow you away with performance or features but that isn't the point. It's great for building tiny, affordable HTPCs, browsing boxes, and the like. It's grandma's best friend, or at least it would be if she had any idea what was inside the nifty black box I made her last year.

Cons: Nothing that isn't to be expected: limited expansion space, unremarkable feature set, etc. It doesn't have much in the way of bells and whistles, but then something like this isn't supposed to.

Other Thoughts: Been running this with 4gb of budget ram, Celeron G1610, HDMI out to a 1080p TV, and optical out to a receiver for a year now. It's done everything I could've asked it to and hasn't given any problems yet. Only problem so far: should've gotten slightly more powerful processor. I have decided against blaming the motherboard for my perpetual cheapness, however.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Capable ITX Board

Pros: This little board works great once I upgraded the bios. Windows 8.1 works perfectly including the secure boot function. I have had no problems with it in any way...highly recommended.

Cons: Had an issue when I first installed Windows 8.1. The watermark for the secure boot kept showing up, but that was resolved when I flashed the bios.

Other Thoughts: When you do flash the bios, pay close attention to the instructions. You will have to put a jumper on the ME pins while you flash, then remove it after. I installed this in an Apevia X-Fit-100 case but the power supply sounded like a blow dryer on high speed. I reconfigured the case to use the Pico-Power power supply with an external brick and now I have a fabulous little machine. With the 240gb ssd, I can turn it on and be to the log in screen in about 10 seconds...and this is just a sata II board. Believe me, with windows 8.1 and an ssd...this thing rocks. (I'm only using an i3-3245 cpu)

4 out of 5 eggsGreat little motherboard

Pros: Small, well-constructed, no problems getting up and running

Cons: Not designed for short Mini-PCIe cards. I built a home router box with this board, so the wifi card occupied the PCI slot; the second wired NIC was a mini PCIe network card - a SYBA SD-MPE24031.

The mini slot is one of those where the card springs sideways and out of the slot unless it's held down. There are hold-down screws for a longer card. I wound up cutting an old credit card to fit over the NIC card, screwing that down to the board to hold it in place. It's been doing well for 6 months.

Other Thoughts: Happily running this as a Linux router with 3 network interfaces, a boot SSD drive and two 4TB drives for a home NAS for over 6 months.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does its job, affordable as can be

Cons: The manual has an illustration for the Front Panel Headers, showing the wrong header, it is actually the pins to the left of the one displayed in the illustration. Only posting to save others the hour I spent scratching my head over potential DOA equipment

Other Thoughts: I would reccomend this board for any budget builds

4 out of 5 eggsECS H61H2-I v1.1 Works!!!

Pros: Purchased 2 of these motherboards to do an quick replacement build for a core i3-2100 and i3-2120. Motherboard has 8 USB ports but 2 are non-functional and are covered by I/O shield. Surprised that mobd has UEFI-Like Bios. Includes 4 SATA cables where other vendors give only 2 SATA cables. No complaints about the hardware. Did not expect much form this ECS mobd but was pleasantly surprised that it has a functioning MSATA port that I plan to install an Intel 7260 HMW WIFI Mini-PCI-E adapter.

Cons: Everything seems to be working. Mobd shipped with latest version of bios. Could really use another update. Wish mobd came with screws for MSATA port.

Other Thoughts: Wish mobd had USB 3.0. ports. I guess that the 2 disabled ports were for USB 3.0 but were not supported on this model.

2 out of 5 eggsDeceptive

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Packaging and Newegg Q&A detail that the mini PCIe slot can be used for mSATA SSDs. I couldn't get two to work, so I contacted ECS support. After a few days they got back to me stating that is not an mSATA slot and that the packaging must be wrong and should be changed. Great - thanks for wasting my time.

Other Thoughts: Had been several years since I tried an ECS board - it will be many more before I make that mistake again.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat motherboard

Pros: it works....really has solid state on whole board, easy to set up because there is not much to it BUT has every thing you need for a good computer or home theater rig

Cons: must update bios right off the bat.....I was able to get 7 installed to do it.....no real help on there main web site on how to do this but there is a utility with the rom you down load from there web site( run it BEFORE you even install anti virus or hook it to internet) because the drivers will NOT work until the bios is updated......this is where it gets CRAZY the drivers on the included disc worked BUT the CURRENT drivers from website did NOT work, so get the bios current from the website and use the disc IF the website ones don't work for you.......on board video ports are NOT mounted well and will break with one good hit to them(even a 30 dollar video card is better then on board with this)

Other Thoughts: I DO NOT OWN IT but I was the guy that used it to build a mini system for someone to do photo shop on( I built it and installed all software) NOT a gaming motherboard so don't even think about it for that BUT for a small every day computer or even a small server this a good motherboard

PARTS LIST FOR MY RIG
this mombo
intel 2020 dual core at 2.9 ghz
G skill 4gb 1866 single stick memory(running at 1333 because of CPU) and cheaper then a 4gb stick of 1333
evga gt 640 2gb video card
evga 500 watt psu
coolermaster elite ITX case
western digital blue 1 terabyte harddrive
asus DVD burner
total 405 bucks for just parts......not bad for what she got to work on and better then what you could get retail for even 600 bucks

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost everything as advertised

Pros: Lots of features for the money. Lots of USB ports, Mini PCIe and a x16 slot, UEFI BIOS with mouse control is cool too.

Cons: Not all units I've received have been exactly the same. Seems ECS has had a few reiterations of this board but kept the same model number. Newegg site shows 8 available USB ports for the rear I/O but the ones I received have only 6 available, with two of them USB SS (3.0) ports. The Board actually has 8 as pictures, but the I/O shield blocks 2 of them. ECS website says they're "unavailable".

Other Thoughts: Other than the "interesting" locations of the ATX power supply and front panel header connections, I have nothing else really to say.

Have not tried RAID, nor the sound. Using these in kiosks.
