1 out of 5 eggsGood till it stopped working

Pros: Held good temps and worked well for the price

Cons: The SATA ports seemed to have burned out in the middle of usage with no power shortages. The cables and drives are still good and the board still powers on and registers all other components. I think will be putting in an extra fifty bucks for a little more quality parts next time.

Other Thoughts: Make good consideration when buying a board as this will be the heart of your system.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsstable as a rock

Pros: installed windows 8.1 64bit and windows 7 64bit no problem. very fast motherboard and as stable as a rock.

Cons: noda

Other Thoughts: I am using this motherboard as my HTPC with a USB HD 4 tuner ceton digital tuner, windows 8.1 64bit, 8 gigs memory, solid state drive for operating system and 3 terabyte drive for video storage. need more Lol and with a low power i3 processor with onboard graphics . its completely silent. it much faster then the cable companies dvr box and better video and sound hooked up to 7.1 home theater sound system. it is turned on all the time for the past 8 months recording/playing video. its very fast even out pacing and more stable and the sata controllers 20% faster then my older workhorse the " intel i7 socket 20011 in a "rampage iv gene motherboard " no problems at all with this ecs board

5 out of 5 eggsstill going strong

Pros: fast, stable, windows 8.1 install around 10 minutes with SSD. couldn't be simpler

Cons: noda

Other Thoughts: I using this for a HD security ip camera DVR recorder server. with windows 8.1 . 8 gigs corsair 1600 78824 cl1 low latency memory, Samsung 840 256gb ssd, WD 2 terabyte storage hard drive. Intel i3-4130T on board graphics. super fast .easiest install ever.

its on all the time 24 hours a day 7 days a week. no issues
in fact its one of the first boards that the audio works with the cameras. 2 out of the 3 other mini itx builds with gigabyte would not work.

ECS is a OEM manufacturer, that means at one time or another they maid motherboards for with big companies example, HP, compact And so on . they been around for a long time. there not the highest quality but for me I have not had a single issue with any of there boards. even ASUS I HAD problems with though I purchased many more of ASUS products.

this board is a simple no thrills board ( what i mean by no thrills is no extras like wifi or mini pcie slot ) though it does have 2 pcie slots and a extensive yet not overwhelming bios. its only capable of a max 65w processor its perfect for something like low power small form factor computer and with a i3-4130T 35w Intel 4 thread processor and a 80w power supply. like I said its on all the time and doesn't skip a beat. yes it not built like a tank like other motherboard manufacturers , hence the price. I have 6 year old ECS motherboard built like garbage like all old motherboards and even though its compositors are bulging and look like about to explode for the last 2 years it still kicking hasn't missed a beet, it makes this ECS motherboards build quality look like gold. 5 ECS motherboards from the past I had no problems with. Though I have had problems with ASUS and ASROCK and gigabyte and countless WESTER DIGITAIL hard drive failures. I found a model WD 2 terabyte hard drive that works flawless and lasted 6 years running 24 hours a day 7 days a week constantly recording video as camera DVR, so after the first year I purchased 10 more of them and all are still kicking, they don't make them any more .

my point is no matter how good a product is there still bound to be defective electronics or poorly designed products no matter what., if you like a board stick with it and it will serve you well. I needed a small form factor mini itx board with 2 pcie slots so I had no choice and it worked out beautiful.

the gigabytes I had 2 DOA had to return 2 for replacement.
the second ones worked but with a different issue and I just dealt with it . I believe it was a design problem so there nothing that can be done unless its fixed with bios update

that's another nice thing about ECS motherboard not many extras so not needing bios updates to fix issues with extras , they just work

I not a ECS fan boy and aside from this board haven't purchased any ECS products in over 4 years . but from what I have there just fine.

1 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for....

Pros: Cheap, does what it's supposed to do (when it works).

Cons: Never heard of this company before but decided to take a chance. It was the cheapest LGA 1150 board on Newegg, and I only needed it for a HTPC so it fit the bill. From jump, I had problems with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports. Only 1 USB 2.0 port worked from the beginning. And both USB 3.0 ports were unstable. Any device hooked up to either one, would randomly lose connection. Also, after about 2 weeks, my computer would take forever to wake up from sleep. Also on boot up, the computer would start up for about 5 secs then restart. I suspected it might have been a bad PSU, but after trying a different PSU, RAM, and HDD, I was still getting the same results. So there was only one culprit left to blame, the motherboard. Also, when I would wake the computer from sleep, I would have no sound and would have to reboot the computer to get sound back. Long story short, I RMA'd this one and bought the GIGABYTE GA-H81M-S2PH. Installed it and everything is running smooth. I really wanted to like this board, but when it's all said and done, you get what you pay for....

Other Thoughts: Like I said, I've never heard of this company before. But, just going off build quality alone, to the GIGABYTE board I bought to replace this one is far superior. And it was only about $10 more. My advice, stick with a reputable company that you're familiar with. If you don't mind going through the hassle of installing this board, removing it when it fails, then installing a new board then by all means go for it, you might get lucky. I wasn't......

5 out of 5 eggsGreat budget board.

Pros: Easy to install, simple board. I seated a Haswell/Pentium processor with a stick of PNY 4g/1333 RAM. Installed Windows 8 on a Samsung 840 Pro SSD and I get full system boot in under 10 seconds. And you can even overclock with this board if you choose to but I see no reason for such a build.

Cons: No USB 3.0 header for the front port of my case. But can't complain about the price as I knew it didn't have a header going in.

Other Thoughts: If you want to build a fast, cheap system for under 400 dollars go with this board. BTW if you are going to use Windows 8, it would probably be a good idea to update your bios through the ECS website they have an easy to use Bios-Flash program. I usually don't install drivers from the disk seeming as how they can be out-of-date. So I would recommend getting your drivers from the website as well.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Coming Soon!

Pros: Small form factor, great feature set, excellent price

Cons: I hate to write bad reviews, but this motherboard was essentially DOA. As soon as I inserted memory sticks, the CPU fan would spin for a few seconds, then stop and repeat. This happened using known working memory and a known working power supply.

Other Thoughts: I thought about getting a replacement, but this board only had 4 reviews, all 5 stars. I don't have a lot of time to be spending on rebuilding some entry level computers for my office staff, so I got an RMA for a refund and ordered an Asrock board. It cost an extra $25, but Asrock boards have never let me down, at least not out of the box on day 1.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing with your motherboard. Prior to shipping from our factory, all motherboards are tested to ensure that they are working properly. A DOA issue can be caused by any of the main components, including CPU, memory, power supply and motherboard. If possible we would recommend testing the motherboard in the following fashion.

Remove the motherboard from the case, with only CPU, CPU fan, memory and power supply connected. Place on a flat non static surface. Reseat the CPU. Test with only one memory at a time and reseat memory. Ensure that both the 24 pin and 4 pin (ATX12V) connections are connected from the power supply. Connect the power button from the case or short the power pins (6 and 8) to power on the system. If still have any issues or questions, please contact us and we can work with you to find a solution.

I or any of my team members here at technical support will be able to help you.

4 out of 5 eggsAs advertised

Pros: Size is about as small as you can get on typical cases. Performs as advertised and was an easy install. Handles performance MEM well and will take an 8 gig module of normal size.

Cons: Finding drivers took some time despite the disks...Win8.1 had most on the disk for the install, Win 7 took some tweaking

Other Thoughts: Great for the money

5 out of 5 eggsfast, nice bios, incredible deal

Pros: this is a very nice mini itx motherboard for any price let alone the cheapest . read other thoughts

Cons: noda

Other Thoughts: this is my 4th mini itx build I used gigabyte mini itx for the others and needed something even cheaper with out sacrificing quality and stability. I had a ECS in the past that worked out good so I gave this one a try.

I can not say enough good things about this ECS motherboard considering its price . the good 100% stable. Nice bios what I consider better then the gigabyte bios. closer to Asus bios with 3D easy bios or advanced. many more options then the gigabyte bios. are you surprised as me yet ? not a lot of extras just a plain simple motherboard.

it is as far as I know the only mini itx motherboard that has 2 pci-e slots. so if your looking for the smallest most capable computer with 2 pci-e slots for adding or upgrading things. I believe this is the only one there is available. media center only uses at the most 8% of cpu .
ccd camera capture cards to also use this as a security dvr at the same time. its great even at 35% cpu it used under 20w with a i3-4130T I never had it use over 28w yet and when its doing nothing just recording HD shows 11w and at idle 4 to 8w amazing

it will not fit a small form factor mini itx case unless the case has 2 bays for ad in cards. this makes it
little less a inch longer in with then a standard mini itx motherboard.
it also boots up turns on just a few seconds to windows.
it seems faster in some applications too. its been working great turned on all the time as a HTPC windows 8.1 media center with full HD cable TV tuners. no issues very happy

5 out of 5 eggsGreat, inexpensive board

Pros: Great little board, installed easily and fired up without incident. Perfect for a basic intel build that doesn't need a lot of monitor options.

Cons: If you're looking to power multiple monitors using onboard graphics, best look elsewhere since you get a vga and an HDMI to pick from. I would assume, but haven't tested, that this would allow for a dual monitor setup, since one output is digital and other analog. Number of usb ports is rather sad as well.

Other Thoughts: For the price, I have no complaints...well i do, but not about this motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsForm Factor

Pros: N/A

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: I just wanted to point out, even though this motherboard is listed at being a micro ATX, it looks as though it will fit the Mini B-TX form factor. Basically it will fit in any itx case with 2 pci slots on the back. I'm judging this by its physical size, not by its specs. Although if you are trying to make an htpc computer with minimal specs, this might just be what you need.
