This board is a prime candidate to pair up with the G3258. Anyone buying a G3258 would be, should be OCing. I demand that this board be updated to have better OC support. We're not asking for it to max out at 4.7GHz or anything, but 4-4.2Ghz is fairly mild and reasonable with acceptable gains.

Pros: honesty, for 48$ wasn't expecting that much but with the 20$ rebate, for 28$ with free shipping? how could I resist?. this board has a nice grey and white color scheme which I like. has a usb 3.0 and as well dual 2.0 ports on the motherboard so able to plug in case usbs without any issues. has 1 pci express port for my wifi card and a pci express 3.0 slot for my gtx 960. for a small budget compact gaming machine this fits my price range since I won't be overclocking

Cons: only real issues is 1)wish had more fan headers
2) maybe 2 more sata ports for more hdds/ssd
other than that love it.

Other Thoughts: for 48$ was skeptical on how well it performs, the bios is easy enough for me. came with two sata cables so able to plug in ssd /hdd. nice color scheme, it's really small so space is nice and compact which is perfect for a smaller build. good enough sata ports for me

Pros: - Ridiculously cheap
- B85 Chipset, so has USB 3.0 headers for front panel, unlike most mobos at this price which have h81 chipset and no headers

Cons: - After purchasing I realized that it does not have official support for the Pentium G3258, even though it's probably the most popular Pentium. The PC would randomly shut down (like a power loss, with no warning) 5-15 minutes after starting up, whether in the BIOS, installing Windows, etc. I managed to fix this by enabling the "overclocking lock" and disabling the "unlock voltage" settings in the BIOS
- They put the front panel headers above the PCIe slot for some reason? It makes it a bit strange to build with, especially when almost all mobos have it below

Pros: Cheapest B85 board available
Dual slot ITX compatible
Neither DOA
Latest BIOS came on both

Cons: Single slot/WC GPU only in dual-slot ITX configs, though not much of a con.

USB3.0 FP header in a poor location (though where else are you going to stuff it), makes cable management harder especially if you have a low ceiling due to a PSU.

Other Thoughts: Have purchased 2 of these boards for G3220 based systems and for the price it's hard to beat them. Both are light office/HTPC type machines and both setup and installed windows without fuss. Yes they are true no-frills boards but so far they have been reliable.

Pros: B85 features at a very reasonable price. Very compact micro ATX board. No compatibility issues with Windows 8.1 N. PCI Express 3.0 x16 and x1.

Cons: 5.1 surround is available via analog outputs only, and HDMI is just 2-channel. For HTPC use, look for higher grade audio. If you will be using headphones or don't care about surround, this will be just fine.

Other Thoughts: I have purchased several ECS boards over the years, and I keep coming back to them for budget builds. They are well suited for casual family or business use, or even light gaming. I have paired this with a G3258 and 750 ti. It runs MGS V much better than such a cheap computer has any right to.

Pros: Low price, compact size, both USB 2.0 and 3.0 front panel headers, all-solid caps and convenient layout. Plenty of SATA ports. PS/2 keyboard and mouse sockets. Rich assortment of bundled software, but it seems to be trial-ware. Runs cool.

Cons: Only four back-panel USB ports. No DVI port. The dual-voltage power LED feature seems to have caused the HP blue power LED to fail after a week. (I turned off that feature and the replacement has been functioning normally.) Confusing CPU fan settings. (I finally figured out to customize the fan settings.) No SPDIF header (contrary the Newegg specification list).

Other Thoughts: This is the second B85H3-M9 I've bought; the first was DOA (and I received an RMA replacement).

The configuration consists of a 4590 quad-core CPU, 16gb G.SKILL Aegis RAM, 500gb Samsung 840 SSD and 2tb Samsung laptop hard drive.

I installed this in an HP S3000 chassis, and everything is functional. Furthermore, unlike H67S mini-ITX installed previously, this one has two slots, just like the OEM unit.

Pros: same as before

Cons: No way to monitor voltages from your bios
Cheap audio codec ( not realtek )
Software disk included with the motherboard doesnt even recognize the mainboard ( lol )
Setting boot mode for windows 8.xx will for some reason break the display and a cmos reset is necessary

Pros: Nice layout, and extra PCIe slot for two-slot OEM chassis like the HP 3XXX. USB 3.0 (both onboard and rear-panel), four SATA ports, and two USB 2.0 headers. Rich set of bundled software, including PowerDVD. All-solid capacitors. HDMI port on the back panel.

Cons: Quality control? (This is the first DOA board I've bought.) No DVI port, but with these budget boards, it seems to be either HDMI or DVI, one or the other.

Other Thoughts: I put a lot of work into installing this in a very tight chassis, and it was a big disappointment that the board was DOA. This should be a great budget board.

There is no SPDIF header, like the Newegg feature section stated.

A DOA issue can be caused by any of the main components, including CPU, memory, power supply and motherboard. If possible we would recommend testing the motherboard in the following fashion.

Remove the motherboard from the case, with only CPU, CPU fan, memory and power supply connected. Place on a flat non static surface. Reseat the CPU. Test with only one memory at a time and reseat memory. Ensure that both the 24 pin and 4 pin (ATX12V) connections are connected from the power supply. Connect the power button from the case or short the power pins (6 and 8) to power on the system. If still have any issues or questions, please contact us and we can work with you to find a solution.
