"To Infinity and . . .", oh wait, wrong movie. DFI's Infinity Socket AM2 mobo is a solid board with stable performance and will handle some basic overclocking. It will support Sempron and Athlon 64 series processors, including the Athlon 64 X2 Dual-core processor. Four DIMM slots bring more expansion.

To make installation easier and not take up as much space the 6 SATA-II connectors are edge mounted to the back of the board so the cables don’t stick up and get in the way of your expansion cards. RAID levels 0, 1, 0+1, and 5 are supported. There’s a PATA connection for optical drives.

DFI has conveniently placed power and reset buttons on the board so you can set everything up on a bench and make sure you have all the settings correct before you mount it into a case. This feature also makes this an ideal board for a shop to use as a test bed for component testing. Don't get bored with your board! Go to Infinity!

Great Value!

Tech Level Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: This board is suited for overclocking as I expected it to be. This is my second DFI board; my first was a Lanparty Ultra-D. This board has a plethora of options and it can do the 300+ easily.
Cons: It comes with flat cables, which can be a bit difficult to route. Other than that, nothing.
Other Thoughts: This has an EPS12V connector instead of the standard 4-pin 12V connector. You can use the 4-pin anyway as I have. I haven't seen any problems with it.

RAID5 vs RAID0

white Reviewed By: taltamir on 10/21/2007
Rating + 5
Tech Level Tech Level: high - Ownership: less than 1 day
Pros: mr. dwainehead who claims high tech level says this board has defective RAID5 settings where 3 drives only give you the space of two drives. And he claims to have "striped" a 3 drive raid array before... This board is perfectly capable of doing it... but it is called RAID0. He is running raid5 which stripes two drives and uses the third for parity. Obviously the guy has absolutely no idea what he is talking about and his lower score (only person to give this board a 4) should not be taken into account.
Cons: none

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Awesome board. Good price, all the features of the big guys.
Cons: SATA2 ports on their side instead of pointing straight up.. tough to get much of anything plugged in without angled cables.
Other Thoughts: Heard of this brand a long time ago and was waiting for the right time to buy... found that time and did it and am glad!

Excellent board

Tech Level Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Fast, well built
Cons: Sideways SATA connectors
Other Thoughts: Bought this to replace an integrated Asus board that I should have known better to buy in the first place. This board is fast compared to the Asus M2A-VM. PassMark on the Asus was 601, on this board 686. AMD Athlon 64 4600+, 4gb DDR 800 RAM. This board is definitely not for the beginner, the BIOS is complicated but if you're into tweaking and overclocking it is a dream. My one major gripe about this board is the way the SATA connectors face sideways, I couldn't use my six inch SATA cables. Still, a great board and I'm very pleased with it.
