What a great replacement board!!!

Pros: I am able to use all the components of my old computer including the CPU, making the expense of rebuilding an outdated machine very minimal.

Cons: I can't think of a single disparaging comment.

Other Thoughts: I had to update the BIOS to accept my 120GB HDD, this was easily obtained from DFI via the internet, along with all the latest drivers for this motherboard. REALLY OUTSTANDING!

Very good MB

Pros: This MB work like a charm with Tualatin CPU at 1.4GHz
I needed to set the RAM clock to 100MHZ same as the CPUs FSB for it to work reliably. My Tualatin CPU runs at 100MHz FSB. When the BIOS is set to Auto Speed the RAM, it will set it to 133MHz and these older chipsets do not do well accessing the RAM asynchronously.

Cons: Set the RAM speed in the BIOS to match your CPU FSB. It errors out a lot if set to asynchronous speed with your CPU (even if its performance would be a bit better...) I can not tell how well it runs at 133MHz because my Tualatin CPU is 100MHz. This creates another problem with overclocking, the RAM can be set to 100 or 133 only (or Auto). If you increase FSB for the CPU the RAM stays at these settings creating asynchronous BUS !!! Your results may vary though.

Other Thoughts: I think it is excellent Mother Boards to use with Tualatin CPUs or plain Pentium 3s. Its low power consumption makes it a perfect candidate for a PVR or a small server. The build in video is weak by todays standards, but hey !!! it is still powerful enough for all the tasks the CPU will do well. Beside, you do not need GeForce 8800 to browse the Internet do you ??? Or to run Office / Email... Gamers (except those playing Solitare) shouldn't be looking at it to begin with... :)
