Great Motherboard
- Pros: Nice motherboard. SLI capable... easy install. runs like a champ. no issues whatsoever with it.
- Cons: none
Do not buy!
- Pros: The board is colorful, and 'should' offer a very cool experience like another DFI board I once had (that eventually failed).
- Cons: Everything seemed okay.. however I ended up returning this. The moment it started to boot from CD, the computer would immediately halt. Different drives, different disks, different BIOS configs, everything. I couldn't get the computer to work at all, and I am largely disappointed. I read mixed reviews about this and decided to give it a shot, however this is DFI's last strike. I just ordered an Asus P6T, and I never will look back.
Like a champ
- Pros: i7 920 running @ 4.2 Ghz stable.. using crucial ballistix 6GB 1600 DDR3 @ 99924 timings, could probably get 88824 as advertised but haven't messed with it.
standard 20X200 multiplier 1.3650 v CPU vid. Temps 72-75 C w/ Corsair Hydro Cool H50. Running Raid 0 w/ dual stripped WD 640GB Blue drives.
- Cons: Reseting the CMOS is a pain, the little red pin on the Mobo on the back looks like a nice feature to make it convenient but unless your using miniature tweezers you can't get it out. ***Quick fix*** use the extended black jumpers that come with the machine.
CMOS reset button on the back would be nice...
Had to flash BIOS to latest version, used USB flash instructions off DFI's website. Worked like a charm. DFI.com is a .TW website, would be nice if they had a US based server that wasn't prone with AJAX errors... (at least this is what it says) [keep in mind any board you get you will want to flash the bios]
- Other Thoughts: Great board with lots of features, if your looking to get into overlocking you can't go wrong with this board. Default options are Auto or you can specify exact settings.
So far impressed, wish it came with more green SATA cables
