1 out of 5 eggsCode 88

Pros: Worked well while it worked. Newegg did their jobs getting it to me.

Cons: The board died on me a couple weeks ago. I went down one morning to play a game while the kids were napping and it wouldn't turn on. The last time it was used before that was when my wife was web browsing the night before. I left it off overnight because this build had done something similar before, but come back to life after a day of inactivity. This time, no such luck. I have built many computers before, and am the family tech guy, but have no training. First I thought it was the PSU, which I RMA'd, the one I received back also didn't work. By chance I turned the power on without the 8 pin CPU power plugged in, and the fan started blowing. So I ordered a new CPU, plugged it in and... nothing! I have gone all the way the bone with this, just MB, CPU, and 1 stick of RAM plugged in, and nothing. Was going to RMA the old CPU, but now will wait til I get a chance to test it in another board.

Other Thoughts: I should have read the other reviews before I bought this board, but I thought, "hey it seems fairly balanced in reviews, is in the price range I am looking for, and meets all my needs." Never again will I buy something without first reading every single poor review. Heck, maybe I'll just stick to the 5 egg products. I don't know that I will buy another DFI product.

2 out of 5 eggsDecent While It Lasted

Pros: Relatively low cost given the specifications, Rear CMOS jumper comes in handy

Cons: Almost completely useless manual which does not cover many of the error codes you may receive. No local RMA support from DFI outside of Europe and Asia. Useless website with dead links which may never be updated again.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this board in February of 2010. Initial setup wasn't a hastle by any means, but it certainly wasn't painless. System ran ok for about a month before it started failing to boot, posting various error codes ranging from 'Incompatable USB Device' to 'Incompatable Memory Modules or PCI Devices' and the wonderful illegible error codes when it just lights up random LEDs. Following the troubleshooting in the manual led to it's eventual death, with displays of '88' and 'FF'. Motherboard lasted 7 months.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: This board has given me no issues at all. It has Phenom II X6 support. It does not say that here but with a bios update you will have your support.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Contacting support directly will get you the bios update, it is not actually on there website(the bios I mean). they responded immediately with what I needed.

1 out of 5 eggsNot anymore

Pros: Was a good motherboard, back jumper

Cons: Dfi has pulled the plug on the dfi forums, They no longer support this board, Dfi is not making any am3 boards at all after this one. Need i go on.

Other Thoughts: Go to dfiforums. com and you cant find it anymore. When applying for rma they tell you if they cant fix it they cant replace it either so your out of luck. Might as well say good bye to DFI as they no longer produce consumer motherboards. Google search it. Buy at your own risk.

1 out of 5 eggsGARBAGE

Pros: Pretty glow in the dark colors?

Cons: Well, it's garbage as detailed in the other reviews. I got the dreaded '88' error, as well as several X8 variations (a bunch of which aren't real characters, and NONE were in the manual). Tried reseting through all methods, battery out, reseated everything, ran one stick of ram, in each slot, no ram, no cards besides video- nothing would even get this to BIOS. Last 5 reviews mirror mine. Assume this card will just not work.

Other Thoughts: This item should be flagged by Newegg after so many DOAs. I bought an Asrock instead which is better all around- higher quality parts, MUCH better documentation, and best of all, works fine first time around. DFI is ending the LanParty line. MANY other people are having problems with these boards. Wish I'd done a little more research, the DFI boards were king a few years ago.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA, As expected....

Pros: None

Cons: After 10 different DFI boards over my computing career, I am happy to say i am done with DFI. Another DOA board means I am done. I have had 8 DOA boards with them, and the 2 that did work out of the box, both developed problems soon after.

Other Thoughts: Buyer beware, DFI is indicating it's closing its doors, stay away. And don't expect tech support for their products either, it just doesn't exist.

1 out of 5 eggsCan't RMA - Manufactorer Swap

Pros: A lot of great features for the money, great budget build board. Great chipset. Comes with crossfire bridge in the box.

Cons: -Dead out of the box. Computer posted once with no video output. Reset computer and it just sat there with no beeps.

-On board FPHD audio connector is in awkward location

Other Thoughts: Like any other customer, we all want it to work now, and not 2 weeks from now when getting items warrantied. I'm out 140 bucks after buying a ASUS board at double the cost to get the PC up and running to pay online bills.

Consider buying from a company that is willing to RMA for a refund before getting locked by a manufacturer swap.

1 out of 5 eggsworst con ever

Pros: Nothing since I can't get it running without an old processor

Cons: Warning: this motherboard apparently "sometimes" comes not capable of recognizing any brand new processor. what is the solution to this? you have to flash the bios using an OLDER processor, so unless you have a compatible older processor of the same socket lying around watch out this is a money trap.

Other Thoughts: the lack of documentation lead to a rather long troubleshooting process, first it seemed like a bad processor, then potentially incompatible ram (because of the obscure documentation). unfortunately long enough im not even eligible to RMA the board. so don't buy this unless your willing to risk $140 down the drain.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat OCer's motherboard

Pros: BIOS is excellent, gives all the options you might need to max out any supported CPU and memory in a well-organized format. This is why I buy DFI boards :)

Cons: Substandard cooling on northbridge/PWM section can cause the board to overheat if you are running an overclocked system. You can always attach a fan but it can be quite an annoyance.

Other Thoughts: Clocked Phenom II X4 965 to 4GHz with ease using G.Skill ECO 1600CL7 memory kit. Scores well in benchmarks, better than the ASUS, Gigabyte or MSI boards I have used in terms of raw scores and ease of OCing.
