5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Like every Biostar board I have used worked perfect no installation problems. I have become a big Biostar fan this was my fourth board and they just work and the price is very fair.

Cons: None really had a hiccup getting the sound toi work turned out to be the installer not the board.

Other Thoughts: As stated above I like Biostar boards they just work no hassles.

3 out of 5 eggsBetter Get a PCI Exprees card to go with

Pros: The board is good, I had to return to biostar after I tried to update the bios got another board, The onboard video is fast but sub-par, it will give you a blue screen if in windows you try yo play the video exeample visulations etc.

Cons: non other than bad onboard video.

4 out of 5 eggsGood board with RAM problems

Pros: Great layout, very stable, updating BIOS with BIOSTAR couldn't be easier, good BIOS for overclocking, did I mention great layout?

Cons: It refuses to accept 4gigs of RAM even with the latest BIOS dated 12/3/07. It seems to barely avoid crashing after loading Vista 64-bit then when i try to launch anything it will stop, pause, blank the screen, come back to the desktop with white lines everywhere and go blank again. It'll do that 3 or 4 times before I get the ol' BSOD. 3 gigs is fine for a while, until I exit a game or something that requires resources. It'll just blank screen on me. Kind of depressing when I was planning on getting 4 gigs from when I bought this board in July.

Other Thoughts: It's not for any enthusiast like someone else said. Latest BIOS includes CPU fan speed control but thats it.
System: Athlon X2 5600+, 2x1GB G.Skill 800MHz RAM, ATI HD2900GT 256MB, SB Live! 24-Bit, WD Cavier SE 160GB HDD, FSP Blue Storm II PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Board

Pros: This is an Excellent Board. I am delighted with it so far. Build of my machine was flawless. I am running Vista Home Premium. The board has so many features I don't know where to start to give Biostar an A+ for this board. I am running a dual core processor that runs great.

Cons: None that I have found.

5 out of 5 eggsBIOS info

Pros: This has been a solid board, easy to work with and overclock/under volt. I DO like it very much.

Cons: Flashing BIOS may give black screen on reboot. Solution is to use VGA output to monitor and reset BIOS settings. I thought I borked the flash, a first in 20 years, not. My perfect record is intact.

Other Thoughts: The Egg is where its at people!!

3 out of 5 eggsHTPC Enthusiast Win

Pros: HDMI / DVI + Interlaced resolutions for the win on an HTPC for those of us who can't afford the full 1080p. Chipset supports HDCP, so eventually I can add an internal BlueRay or HD-DVD drive to the HTPC.

Cons: No motherboard firewire / eSata support for external storage. Onboard LAN (Realtek 8111B) still doesn't work under MCE 2005 or WinXP.

Other Thoughts: A great little mobo. Since I use it as an HTPC, I use the wireless card instead of the onboard LAN interface. Most times that's satisfactory, unless I'm trying to back up recordings.

4 out of 5 eggsAwsome for HTPC!

Pros: Great motherboard, lots of audio and video outputs. Perfect for HTPC. My System consisted of the nMEDIAPC HTPC 100BA case, AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Windsor 2.0GHz Socket AM2 processor, ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler

Cons: no built-in firewire connection, couldn't get audio on HDMI to work. Had to get latest drivers from the ATI website because BioStar site lacked support.

Other Thoughts: I read a lot of reviews about users having issues with fan control. This wasn't a problem for me, my case (nMEDIAPC HTPC 100BA) had a knob that I used for fan control. Make sure the memory you buy is in the list supported by the mobo. Here's the ATI site to download drivers. http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html select your OS, Integrated/Motherboard, Radeon X1250

2 out of 5 eggsGood board for XP and small systems, but avoid 4gig of ram!

Pros: Solid drivers for XP, relatively powerful in Vista.

Cons: MAJOR problems in Vista with 4gb of ram. Tried different speeds and amounts and no matter what, 4gb always results in almost instant BSOD in Vista 64bit. 2gb is fine, but 4 causes issues. Avoid for any enthusiast projects.
