Pros: It lasted a little over a year.

Cons: Board failed in less then 2 years. I contacted Biostar and was told the warranty is from date of manufacturing not purchase. I was told by the rep I am out of luck as far as any repair. I'm sorry this is total bunk. I will never purchase Biostar again.

Other Thoughts: It's really pathetic to punish the consumer because a retailer had their product in a warehouse before sale. I purchased a new board and should have the full warranty however Biostar feels different. Less then two years and not covered by their warranty is not acceptable. I will NEVER purchase a Biostar product again.

Pros: Great little thing! have had no problems with this so far. Nice and small but everything fits (I think...just ordered new GTS250, so I guess we'll see about that). I originally bought this for an Athlon processor, but thanks to the AM3 support, I'm going to stick a Phenom II in here soon

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: My second Biostar motherboard; both have performed flawlessly

1 out of 5 eggsbad sata controller

Pros: ......

Cons: I bought this motherboard and another biostar for two computers I built for some friends. Both have been horrible. It took a long time to figure out that it was the sata controller that is bad because the problem would go away for about a month or so by switching ports. Thought it might have been the hdd or the power supply, but after a lot of trouble shooting, the sata controller is to be blamed. Both motherboards from biostar have done the same thing. Stay away from this board. It's not worth the headache of dealing with this down the road.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear, we have not heard of any major issues with SATA controllers but if possible could you contact our support staff so we can try to narrow situation down and would like find out more details on your issue so to avoid such further problems for anyone if such a problem exists. Thank you for your time. http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/support/e-support.php?area=tw

5 out of 5 eggsOCing issue

Pros: Its a nice cheap motherboard. It works.

Cons: Not a lot of features

Other Thoughts: Just wondering, does this MoBo allow the CPU multiplier to be changed? I can't find it in the BIOS.

Pros: still working after 1 year. cheap.

Cons: nothing that i've noticed

Other Thoughts: im not very knowledgeable when it comes to motherboards, but it has done what i wanted without dieing on me or giving me any problems. i haven't overclocked through the bios but i used the software that you get from its website and done some minor overclocking successfully. i would say that if you don't know much about motherboards and don't plan to overclock too much its a great board

3 out of 5 eggsGood...until it dies

Pros: It's a great board for an HTPC...when it's working. The onboard card is more than enough power for my HTPC.

Cons: SATA controller is dying after 1.5 years. The past few months I've been getting errors in Windows Event Log stating that the driver detected a controller error. The past few times this occurred, changing the SATA ports the drives were on did the trick. But recently, the failures have been happening more frequently.

3 out of 5 eggsDead as a doornobb

Pros: Solid board with decent Overclocking features in bios. Was a good board while it worked.

Cons: Died after 1year and 5mos of use. kept having the PC freeze on me the week before it went poof. think it might have something to do with the sata controller like other folks were having issues with. have to wait till the west coast wakes up to speak to tech support.

Other Thoughts: Haven't tried to rma it but its well within the 2 year parts and labor warranty. Overall a good board. solid caps Looks to be made well. my front audio connection in my old compaq case didn't fit on this board but did on its 20 dollar cheaper replacement. replacement isn't nearly as expandable as this board though lots of sata 4 dimm slots and system fan connector at the bottom of the board, who puts fans near the PCI slots?

3 out of 5 eggsWas good while it lasted

Pros: Easy install
Onboard graphics and sound pretty good
Win7x64 recognized all onboard equipment
Decent layout

Cons: Onboard Sata controller already going bad.

Other Thoughts: I believe I've had the board for well over a year so I guess I can't complain too much but I really wished the board would have lasted longer than this. I was experiencing HDD problems but come to find out the problem is actually the SATA controller. Sometimes the drives would read on startup, sometimes not. I had a 160GB Seagate that ran good for a while then just stopped working. All of a sudden six months later the drive is recognized and passes all HDD tests through Seatools. I see this as a big problem considering how much drives can run. For the ease of the install and the stability I would buy again, only if the SATA controller on a new Biostar is different from this one.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great features, decent audio, no problems other than the one described below

Cons: sata controller went screwey on me after 6 months, at first I thought the CD drive was broken so I bought another one, but it didn't do anything. Computer seems to work fine otherwise, have just been using it without a CD drive because whenever I plug one it it take forever to post boot and then ends up not recognizing it once I enter windows. Frustrating when you can no longer play your favorite games because you can't insert the CD

Other Thoughts: I would not buy this product again, my friends all told me to go Asus but I had 2 Biostar boards in the past and had liked them, though they had died prematurely as well. looks like next build I will go with someone else

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works and does the basic job of running a fileserver.

Cons: The onboard SATA ports don't seem to want to work with any S.M.A.R.T. reading software and making it impossible to monitor the hard drives health or temperature. Tried all the different drivers, from CD, Biostar's website, AMDs and different BIOS settings to no avail.

Other Thoughts: If S.M.A.R.T. support worked fine it would've been 5 stars.
