5 out of 5 eggsOld? Whatever.

Pros: This Board is nothing short of fantastic. This was the 1st board i ever got for my very 1st build i did myself. You guys might laugh but i got this baord for a GAMING build.
Works perfect with the setup i built.

6 eggs out of 5.

Cons: Its " Old "now. Your going to overpay if you want 1.

Other Thoughts: I am confused at what people say when it comes to
" High - End gaming Rigs " I built my 1st Build using this.

Slamed 2 Radeon HD 6870 and Crossfired them.
Added 8 GB DDR2 1066 4 x4 sticks
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 Quad-Core Processor, 2.66 GHz
Using just Air cooling

This Rig runs all day any day and any game at MAX setting no problems at all. I am not talking about some CoD game. I am talking about Aion Abyss PvP fighting 80 - 150 players at once. Stormwind raids? Np even with 300 players fighting each other this rig cuts it knife and butter style. What makes me wonder tho is this...Why pay Thousands...when you can have max with just 700$ like me?

3 out of 5 eggsGood board.Poor layout

Pros: Cheap for the features and performance you get.
Plenty USB headers
Plenty of fan headers.
FDD and LPT headers are smartly placed out of the way. Do people still use them???

Cons: 1) When using SLI, 3 SATA ports are located right under the second video card making them COMPLETELY USELESS!!! This is the reason I gave this board 3 eggs.
2) to enable second graphics card, one has to move NINE jumpers!! What's wrong with a BIOS setting, just plain auto-detect or a single jumper?

Other Thoughts: The motherboard is a good deal if you are using a single graphics card solution. Forget about it if you're planning to use SLI with more than 2 drives.

2 out of 5 eggsUgh.

Pros: Onboard led troubleshooting is kinda cool if a little simple.

Cons: PCI-Express 2.0 slot burned out on my after 8 months, and im forced to use the slave PCI-E 2.0 . One of the sata ports also came loose causing my hard drive to constantly crash. RMA to the manufacturer apparently costs a minimum of 45 dollars, I only paid 109 for the board. Since biostar is a foreign company, the website and such are sometimes hard to read since the English is bad.

1 out of 5 eggsBIOSUX

Pros: Ummm... Cant think of anything

Cons: The Computer so unstable, crashed many times. Since I got this system countless hours and more importantly; money been wasted.
Bios update and any other update is so lame.
OC is miles away
and recently I lost over 300GB data of vids, pics and project because of all sata port in the MOBO stop functioning, one by one.

Other Thoughts: STICK WITH ASUS.
Biostar guys... FIX MY COMPUTER

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mobo for the Money!

Pros: Easy setup with no issues. Documentation and support is easy to find and use.

Cons: I may have to look further into the settings, but the hardware monitor software does not detect CPU fan.

Other Thoughts: So fare so good. I have not looked into overclocking yet, but it is nice to know I'll have that option to do so in the future.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: Beautiful, clean design that was easy to install in my new case. Good upgrading potential.

Cons: It didn't come with screws to mount to the case, so I had to salvage some from an older computer. The CD was a dud and wouldn't install the software and drivers, saying I wasn't using the right motherboard. Had to download all of them online myself.

5 out of 5 eggsOverclock!

Pros: This motherboard overclocks like a dream!
I have an intel xeon x3210, which is like a q6600 but it runs at 2.13ghz instead of 2.4ghz. I took the fsb up to 400 bringing the clock speed up to 3.2ghz, and with out setting any voltages it was prime 95 24hours stable. I still can't believe it.

Cons: ugly color compared to my striker extreme
cheap looking heat pipes
no raid support, which is a huge bummer, but i'll take 3.2ghz over a raid 0 any day :)

Other Thoughts: Intel Xeon x3210 @ 3.2ghz
4gb gskill 800mhz DDR2
2x 500gb WD Black
1x 320gb WD caviar SE16
evga 9800gx2
rosewill 750watt extreme power psu

5 out of 5 eggsStill Good Board Over a year later

Pros: 2nd review...I bought this on 7/16/2008 and it is still running strong. Have not had any problems with the board since I bought it almost a year ago....I left the system on for weeks doing video encoding work and rendering, no lockup or freezes. Did the bios upgrade without any problems. Stable System hardware.....

-Intel Xeon X3220 Kentsfield.... Clocked stable right now at 2.93Ghz
-OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2P10664GK...from newegg
- 3-Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM37166324 (N82E16822148262) 2 in Raid 0 configuration though vista32 soft raid, 1 drive for vista32/xp64 dual boot
- 1-ATI radeon HD4850, 512meg
- Themaltake pure power 600
- 2- LG blue ray, dvd burners
- 1- 3.5" 15 in 1 media readers...fits in floppy slot
- 1-firewire 400/800 card
- video capture card
- adobe premiere CS3

Cons: -No Fire wire but not really a complaint here, I just got a firewire card and pluged it into the pci-x slot.
-No raid on board but I am considering getting a pci-x raid card soon.

Other Thoughts: I really like this board and I am glad it has space for future upgrades....I am thinking of putting in a Intel Xeon X3360 Yorkfield 2.83GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core since the price has dropped below 300 bucks.....however lga-1366 is now out and i7 is tempting... This board was a good buy for the low 100 dollar range and has served me well for the last year.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Sweet board!! OC'ed an E8500 to 3.6Ghz no problem. Lots of room for a large HSF. This is a great tweakers motherboard. The chipset coolers work really well also. I'm running 400Mhz FSB w/voltage bump and under load the NB is only 60C!

Cons: Ummm. Nope no grips really.... Oh fan headers! I wish it had more 3 pin headers.

Other Thoughts: @ the person that hit a wall @ 450Mhz. May sound crazy but try a larger jump with the FSB. I'm guessing that your NB latencies are the prob. If you take a larger step it may loosen the latenies and agian stablize. Make sure to bench your rig also. Higher clocks with looser timings may cause your rig to slow down or show very little gain with more instability ;)

5 out of 5 eggspretty satisfied

Pros: It works well.My CPU, intel Q8200 runs on it like a charm. i heard that it was good for overclock. So, i push my CPU to 3.1 Ghz from 2.33Ghz, it's totally stable.

Cons: it is not totally motherboard's fault. i hit wall bus at 450 Mhz. Any help? i read some reviews about Q8200 runs on this motherboard at 3.5Ghz on air without problem. Maybe causes Q8200 has a low ratio (7).

Other Thoughts: Overall, i'm satisfied this board when CPU runs at 3.1 Ghz to encode movies and play games.
