5 out of 5 eggsGreat little mobo

Pros: - Compact size
- Numerous outlets for expansion
- Fast AMD 4200 graphics
- Can handle many different types of ram and processors

Cons: After owning this for two and a half years I can honestly say that this little board was worth every penny!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Has an onboard HD video card, 8+2 sound card
Micro ATX
All the basic things I needed to use a computer (USB, onboard LAN, etc.)

Cons: Although it supports 16GB, it's was nearly impossible to find single 4 GB memory sticks with the correct speeds for it without OC.

Other Thoughts: I just needed a basic MOBO for my new computer and I didn't want to go insane spending on a computer that would get outdated so quickly. I needed parts to support gaming and this board has supported my needs for almost a year now and is still keeping up with the average brand new computer.

5 out of 5 eggsStill a great board!

Pros: Very stable, tons of OCing options, via bios, AMD Overdrive, and Biostar Toverclocker. HDMI, HD audio, GB LAN

Cons: Overclocking is great on this board! The boards lists support for PC1600 for OCing, if you are planning to due any overclocking get PC1600. There is almost no cost difference! So just get the higher clocked memory read the Other Thoughts section for a detailed description.

Other Thoughts: Here is a little basic info to save you some confusion. Athlon ii can only be OCed through the FSB which does work well, my dual core 255 3.1 Ghz bumped up to 3.7 easily.AMD Black Editions CPUs don't have this problem because you can adjust the CPU multiplier to overclock! This is all with stock heatsinks. Now with 635 2.9 quad @ 3.3. Heres what you don't realize with FSB OCing; using the FSB/HT frequency you are not only pushing the CPU clock higher, YOU ARE RAISING THE MEMORY FREQUENCY TOO!
The reason I could push the 255 so much higher is that I am using DDR3 PC1333, the 255 memory controller only supports DDR3 PC1066. The board downclocks the faster memory and gives you a 267Mhz gap. Here the math HT Ref. clock is 200 bump to 239 x 15.5 multiplier =3.7Ghz, memory clock 533 x2=1066, 239= 20% OC. 533 x 20%=106+533= 639 x2=1278Mhz below the 1333 ceiling. My 635 is limited in OC due to its native PC1333, my memory is running@1500Mhz with 3.3oc. Adding HS to memory may help or PC1600

4 out of 5 eggsSolid so far

Pros: Nice feature set, plethora of software apps. Seems like a good quality board.

Cons: Nothing really stands out. Some reviews noted problems posting with a tweaked CPU. I haven't needed or desired to do that yet.

Other Thoughts: Was the best bang/buck at the time.

5 out of 5 eggsMajor Bang to Buck Ratio

Pros: Nice price for the features, lots of useful BIOS tweaks, easy to unlock additional cores. HDMI built in.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Wanted a cheap workbench computer, bought this, a 3 core Athlon II, and 4 gig of RAM. With odd parts I had laying around built a very satisfying box for just over two hundred bucks. Biostar made core unlocking a totally painless process, so now my 3 core Athlon II has been magically transformed into a Quad core Phenom. Totally stable. Sweet deal.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy install.

Pros: The installation was very straight-forward. Everything seems to be working well.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I like my new system.

I installed a AMD Athlon II X3 445 Rana 3.1GHz. I have not tried to unlock the 4th core. This system is plenty fast for me without that.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the money

Pros: Inexpensive. Extensive overclocking options. Easily unlocked the fourth core on my Phenom II X3 740. Onboard video with dual monitor support, which isn't always the case in this price range.

Cons: Hesitates a few seconds before posting. Confusing BIOS, many key overclocking options like memory timings and CPU multiplier are buried in sub-menus and bizarrely labeled.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected

Pros: Power on and Reset buttons on board; Diagnostic LED's; Core unlocKING; 3 on-board fan headers.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Ordered as an "Open Box" item and expected that the SATA cables, I/O plate or drivers CD would be missing. However, all accessories and extras were present. My board was also the red and black model. Didn't really need the Diagnostic LED's as the board cranked up flawlessly on the first try. Core UnlocKING feature worked perfectly as well, unlocking my Penom II X2 B53 to a 4 core processor (both extra cores seem to be stable as well). More overclocking features in the BIOS and software than I know how to use. This is my first M/B upgrade since my Asus Socket 939. This is the 2nd Biostar board I've owned and both have delivered good features and high-quality performance. Thanks to Biostar for exactly the M/B I was looking for and to Newegg for a great price!
