1 out of 5 eggsget what you pay for

Pros: Met my budget requirements and had all the expansion ports I needed

Cons: Only 2 memory slots, so no upgrading memory really.

Made with low quality components; the GPU bus died eventually, and had to switch to on-board video. Sound plug died, as well as the rear USB ports.

Vague description; doesn't show the max wattage of CPU that can be used, nor the version of PCIe, so upgrading is a shot in the dark whether the board will be ruined or incompatible.

Other Thoughts: I built this system up for my wife's college work, but after my system died, I inherited it and put in a video card. Big mistake; it killed the GPU bus after a year. I was using it for older games and 3d Max. Im replacing it with a much higher quality one.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Mobo ever

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Where do I begin? Only smallest of cpu cooler/fans will fit do to extremely small size; GPU burned out within a week of being built; installed a pci video card which worked well until several weeks ago (couldn't open up more then 1 very slight graphic ms pub page at a time) and now more of the junk mobo's circuits are dying.

Other Thoughts: I have been building pc towers for years (since windows 95) - anything from doctor office enterprise to top notch gaming level builds and this Biostar N68S3 was built for a customer purely for internet; email and very light MS office work. It has failed completely in every way. Joke is, it isn't worth the postage to return it. Worst part is, "my name" is attached to the build. I'll never by another Biostar.

1 out of 5 eggsSupport Sucks

Pros: Good price for basic build, DDR3, Nice Size

Cons: SMART errors after 2 months. Support unwilling to own problem with this MB.

Other Thoughts: Contacted support for SMART error on SATA3. Didn't even have a device on it. Knee jerk reaction from support was to tell me I had an issue on my SATA drive even though on SATA1. Wouldn't listen to me.

Too many good MB mfg's out there to have to waste my time and customers patience. Replaced with ASUS on my dime. Worth every cent.

5 out of 5 eggsBought 2 of these Surprisingly GOOD

Pros: Bought these for low end, low budget builds about 3 years ago, and they are still running strong. They were paired with Athlon triple core processors and 6670 video cards, and they are all performing well.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: It was after these boards lasted 3 years I started purchasing and getting into biostar, def. better then ecs, asrock and foxconn.

2 out of 5 eggsbiostar blacklisted

Pros: i don't know

Cons: i hate the fact that the motherboard doesn't separate headset and speaker audio like other boards do, that was the biggest turn off for me on this board, another problem was the rumbling that other people could hear whenever i used my microphone, due to the motherboard mixing all the sounds together, during skype calls people were able to hear whatever i was watching on my screen even if i had my headset plugged in

4 out of 5 eggsNice Budget Board

Pros: Price
Decent Bios

Cons: More fan headers please!
No USB3.0

Other Thoughts: I needed a low cost board for a budget gaming rig I was building for a friend.

Paired this with an AMD FX 6 core processor and a mid-range Nvidia card and this puppy screams along!

4 out of 5 eggsbudget board

Pros: cheap, simple bios menu, worked reliably for over a year

Cons: I will be replacing this sometime this year (2012) due to the fact that it is incredibly outdated. Also support for non-essential pc parts (extra fans, ssd drive...) is limited to none. also bad driver support from biostar website

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Gear

Pros: Out of the box updated drivers. This was one of the few boards you can build & not have a single driver that needs to be updated. Everything worked from the minute it was installed.

Solid performer, customer has not had a single issue.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsTRUST ME YOU DON'T WANT THIS

Pros: It fires up to bios.

Cons: HORRIBLE...Did NOT recognize any SATA drives. Tried everything. Tech Support was horrible. CANT get a refund. Always go for an ASUS or MSI. BELIEVE ME...DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON BIOSTAR!! That's a WARNING

Other Thoughts: ASUS OR MSI

Manufacturer Response:
