5 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Good board, allowed me to finally use an old P4 3.0Ghz. Didn't have the right ram at first but it was fixed. Options for voltage control for the CPU, chipset, and DDR. Also timing and speed control for the Ram.

Cons: Sometimes my vBIOS edited HD 4860 is not detected at boot, still have no idea what is causing this. I only edited the fan controls.

Pros: basic inexpensive and uses parts that i had extra of or cheap parts

Cons: none really maybe more sata

Other Thoughts: it is what it is . i used this to upgrade a old P4 to sata2 and now is a workhorse that copys/recovers files/hard drives and stores pictures and music

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what I needed

Pros: Good price for a P4 Intel chipset board. Seems reliable and stable. SATA; PCI-E port; 4 gig memory support; Great for anyone trying to revive an old P4.

Cons: Onboard video seems weak. It hesitates after clicking on icons before it brings them up. I ordered a PCI-Express card and the lag is nearly gone. Not as fast as my Athlon X-2 but then again it shouldnt be.

Other Thoughts: Cant go wrong with for the money. It seems like a waste to throw away a perfectly good P4. Glad they still sell these boards!

5 out of 5 eggsKeeps the old stuff going!

Pros: Does what it claims to do. Used it with two different Northwoods 3.06/533 and then a 2.4/800. 2GB of ddr2 800 and a BFG 7900 in a recycled E-machines case.

Cons: limited P4 compatibility. Double check CPU list before ordering. Haven't tried the on-board graphics. Only one IDE channel.

Other Thoughts: My sister's family is thrilled with their "new" computer. Plays mine craft just fine. I wouldn't bother unless you have a compatible P4 w/HT on hand and most of the other parts too. If you got a bunch of older stuff collecting dust, GO FOR IT!

3 out of 5 eggsI have had an issue

Pros: Socket 478 That supports DDR Memory. Its Inexpensive. This board lets you take your old CPU and start bringing into the future.
IT SUPPORTS 4GB of DDR

Cons: My issue is the On board video. My Dads motherboard died after 8 years. He just needed a replacement, but the old board used RIMM (RAMBUS) Memory, PATA controllers and an AGP Slot. I ordered the board and 4 GB DDR memory. It was about $100. I got it all togeather loaded Windows XP w/ SP3 and loaded all the drivers that came with it without any problems. Rebooted and the Video started flickering. SO I went online and got the latest video drivers from BioStars website and it didnt help. I checked and the BIOS was up to date so I RMA'd the board and ordered another to save time. SAME PROBLEM. it isn't as bad but it is still happening. BUT once I tried to run Command and Conquer Generals it stared happening again, any load on the video will cause the flicker.
I don't know if it is a problem with this particular run of boards or if it is an issue with the board itself. I read some of the reviews and no one said anything about video issues. I guess I will be ordering a PCI-e video card soon

Other Thoughts: IF YOU BUY THIS BOARD GET A PCI-e VIDEO CARD

4 out of 5 eggsG31 on P4 Northwood experience

Pros: Finally a decent G31 chipset for Pentium 4 owners. Great upgrade for P4 2.4B 533FSB and has no compatibility problem to run with a 2 GB DDR2-800. The G31 chipset much more capable and stable than the old P4S533 motherboard with the SIS chipset. Access to PCI-E slot for graphics and run GTS250 no problem. Run windows 7 much better than anticipated. Paid $50 & comes with $10 mail in rebate

Cons: Little performance boast in games even with PCI-E & GTS250 video card due to slow CPU. Single core cpu is no match to Pentium E5700 in games. Weak windows Performance Index Score CPU 3.2, Ram 4.3, Graphics 6.8, Gaming Graphics 6.8, Hard disk 4.2. For comparison, my Pentium E5700 3.0Ghz CPU scores twice as high at 6.4.
A rather time consuming project involving removal & installation of CPU, heatsink, motherboards, graphics cards and new windows installation. The computer runs rather loud due to reusing the old power supply & CPU Fan.

Other Thoughts: The cheapest way to revive a 9 years old PC to run Windows 7. Excellent stability, good speed for general computing. The integrated graphics is relatively weak WPI Graphics score of 2.1 & 3.0 respectively. A worthwhile project for those who have spare parts to throw in. The overhaul is completed but left something more to desire. I would have retire the P4 and chosen a socket 1156 motherboard to work with & put in a more powerful first gen i3 CPU

5 out of 5 eggsgood MB

Pros: Supports 4 Gb of RAM not 2 Gb as it is stated in specification!!! Should have checked with manufacture before buying the RAM.
Great upgrade for 478 socket Pentium 4 owners. Now I can connect up to 4 SATA II devices directly to the MB.
Had it for about a year. No problems so far.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: New egg should really correct the specs for this board. I think I am not the only one who mistakenly purchased 2Gb of RAM instead of 4 which would be much better. Especially considering that there are only 2 memory slots on the board.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Good Board

Pros: up to 4GB of DDR2 Memory
Integrated Graphics
Ordered on Friday night got on Tuesday afternoon

Cons: Only has one IDE connector, while I have an IDE hard drive, and 2 IDE DVD drives. Had to buy a connector to use SATA with IDE DVD drives.
