5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Perfect for a basic system. Booted up and loaded drivers without any issue.

Cons: No HDMI, but it won't ever be needed for the user, so it won't ever be missed.

No USB 3.0, but that is also to be expected for a $50 board.

Other Thoughts: This is my first BioStar motherboard, and reliability is the only real question for me. If this board holds up for a few years, BioStar will have made a fan out of me.

I also chose to go with this brand over others due to the frequency with which the manufacturer responds to both positive and negative comments regarding their products. For me, that is a mark of responsibility and good customer service, which promotes trust.

3 out of 5 eggsfrustrating

Pros: Solid board, runs well, no problems
Lots of useful features for the price
SATA 6Gb/s, HDMI, DVI
You can read the details tab.

Cons: The layout was real pain to work around.
-The memory is BETWEEN the CPU and the CPU fan header, so the wires have to go over the top of the memory. double facepalm for that. Some other builders may not be so lucky depending on the wire length.
-The 12v connector is located LOW on the board which causes a problem running the 4 pin power cable if you're using a standard case. In a case with a bottom mounted PS it may be helpful.
-Hey, Biostar! Why not use solid caps on the entire board? Geez.

Other Thoughts: I like Biostar and I like the price/performance.
This board works great, no issues there. I burned it in on high settings for 12 hours and it never flinched.
The LAYOUT is frustrating to work with and unnecessary. Having the memory turned 90 degrees does not provide any measurable benefit on a micro-atx desktop board. Save that for servers designed to take advantage of it.

Manufacturer Response:

Layout varies by model, but most are similar in this design. For the 100% solid, again, depends on model of motherboard. H61ML is a low cost budget board for those that want to use a Sandy bridge for office and some HD media use. We do have another model TH67+ that may be more of your liking, layout wise and 100% solid caps.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Super easy to install. Perfect for people wanting to upgrade. My old rig was used for mostly watching HD movies and TV. Loved the low price and available expansion slots which allowed me to keep some of my old parts such as my graphics card and PCI TV tuner.

Cons: First Board was defective. I wasn't able to use both RAM slots at the same time. Currently RMA this Motherboard to get a new one.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear of your troubles, if replacement motherboard still has same problem that you are unable to run both memory slots, then problem may be related to faulty processor. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact Biostar at 626-581-1055 menu 2 or email support@biostar-usa.com

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mobo in a small package

Pros: Small, minimalist mobo with only the things you need for a basic computer or server. Everything worked out of the box.

Cons: No RAID support. RAID 0/1 options would be a nice addition.

Other Thoughts: Using in a phone server, so needs are low.

5 out of 5 eggsEverything expected

Pros: Fired up on desktop (out of case) within 10 minutes of opening Newegg box.
Used HD with existing WXP setup for G-41 board with no problem except for triggering MS 3 day poison pill (but I knew that would happen).
Didn't have to touch BIOS.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: Using with i3 2100 and 4 Gb of Team memory, all inexpensive stuff but everything works perfectly.
I purchased this board because of price, previous experience with Biostar boards, PSI slots and overclocking capability if I should get the urge to lay some more money on Intel.
Couldn't ask for any more.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Once I got it working it works well. Kill A Watt meter shows system using 60 watts at idle with monitor on, 93 watts running prime 95. Seems stable. Core i3 2100, 4gb G.Skill memory. ATI 4550, Windows 7 32 bit. Board feels solid.

Cons: Board ships with CMOS jumper on pins 2 and 3. Manual says says normal operation is pins 1 and 2. I switched to pins 1 and 2 and the system would not power up. I switched power supplies still nothing, pulled one stick of memory and video card still nothing. I finally remembered to move jumper back to pins 2 and 3 and system booted into the BIOS. The manual is wrong normal operation is pin 2 and 3. Biostar needs to print corrected manual

Other Thoughts: The more I use this system the more i like it. Windows 7 installed with out issue. BIOS is different, but I am used to Gigabyte boards. It works well enough for my purpose, so I might buy Biostar in the future. Also S3 suspend to ram is not enabled by default. You must enable it if you want hybrid sleep mode in windows 7

5 out of 5 eggsGood little board for not so much $

Pros: Runs stable and has a decent feature set for the money.

Running 4GB G.skill value ram and core i3-2100 w/ graphics as a business machine.

Cons: none so far after 2 months.

Other Thoughts: Solid little board for the price, i3-2100 integrated graphics work perfectly through both the VGA and DVI on it. Great buy for a non-gaming machine.

5 out of 5 eggsgood mobo

Pros: good for a budget and it supports the new Intel sandy bridge cpu's

Cons: there are none for me works perfectly

Other Thoughts: if you can afford it go for a bit better mobo but if you are looking to get it for a cheap entry for sandy bridge then this it the board for you.
