Pros: Good motherboard overall. APU graphics are pretty impressive. Good and understandable BIOS.

Cons: The Realtek sound is extremely distorted, like it dropped off a full audio channel. I haven't been able to fix it. It's not a driver issue

1 out of 5 eggsDead on Arrival

Pros: None so far.

Cons: .
I purchased - on-line - a complete set of components for
a new computer.
.
APU AMD | A6-3670K 2.7G 4M FM1 R &
MB BIOSTAR|TA75A+ FM1 R &
GSkill memory ( which I cannot test) &
Power Supply - which tests good.
.
I got no POST screen -
I checked my monitor and power supply using
my old motherboard - both tested good.
.
I applied for and received RMA numbers.
I sent 4 items back ( two were the wrong item)
using the UPS mailing label furnished by NewEgg.
.
Eleven (11) days later - now -
I finally get 3 eMails from NewEgg.
.
One eMail about a missing item in the returned box.
Wrong - I an VERY SURE that all 4 items were packed.
.
One eMail with a new RMA for the motherboard
which I have already returned. ???
.
One eMail saying that the CPU was
damaged beyond repair - bent pins.
There were NO Bent Pins when I sent it back -
that was one of tne first thing that I checked
when I could not get a POST screen,
.
Now what ??
Purchase another $90 CPU -
and try again with the motherboard
which has not yet been returned yet? ? ?
.
I have had fairly good experiences in the past
with NewEgg - BUT - This is unacceptable!
.
I have spent over $600 and have NOTHING to show for it!
.

Other Thoughts: .
I don't even have any way to know
which one - or both - of the items
(motherboard & CPU) was defective.
.

5 out of 5 eggsUsual Biostar Quality/Overclocking

Pros: Using this board with 3870K to play GTA IV/EFLC without a discrete graphics card installed

Cons: No real concrete info out there on what socket FM2 is going to perform better or not

Other Thoughts: I spent about $300 on motherboard, processor, ram. Worth it, but note living in a hot or humid area will decrease computer performance severely

5 out of 5 eggsTemp porblem solved by Biostar

Pros: This is an update to my previous review. I emailed Biostar regarding the "coming out of sleep mode" temperature issue and they responded promptly to solve this issue. Tech support sent me a new BIOS, A75AH821.BST and after running for several days with the updated BIOS, it appears the problem is fixed. So nice work Biostar, but I wish this BIOS and information had been available online so I did not spend days trying to troubleshoot this issue and reseating the CPU. Overall, now a satisfied customer, and this board is exactly what I needed at a great price.

Cons: None for the price paid. Satisfied with the price/spec mix

3 out of 5 eggsSlightly disappointed

Pros: Low price board with USB 3, SATA III support, 4 memory slots and a decent amount of upgrade slots.. Reasonably well written installation instructions. Nice layout for my older case.

Cons: Temperature reporting issues. I should have listened to the few other reviewers that complained about the wrong temperature being reported when coming out of sleep mode. The temp reports fine (22C) and the CPU fan is very quiet during normal operation. However, when coming out of Sleep mode, the CPU temp is reported at 79-80C and the fan runs full bore out to try to cool the CPU. I'm sure the CPU temp is not that high. The only way to solve this issue is to do a Restart...which negates the entire purpose of sleep mode. I've updated the BIOS, played around with the Smart Fan settings in BIOS, reseated the AMD A8 3850 CPU several times with no better results. I am not overclocking, just wanted a quiet system! Oh, and the back plate is pretty flimsy....it could have been a tad thicker metal.

Other Thoughts: Build info
CPU: AMD A8 3850
MB: Biostar TA75A+ Ver 5.0
Memory: GSkill Ripjaws Series, 4GB
Plextor PX-128M3 SSD, 128 GB
Power supply: Cooler Master GX Series 450W
Windows 7 Home Premium

3 out of 5 eggsComes with trial of THX

Pros: 1. Comes with THX audio program

Cons: 2. Only a small trial version that never expires

Other Thoughts: I bought this not knowing about the Creative THX utility, then found it was a trial version (not full). I ended up buying the thing for 25 bucks but I must tell you all there's a very similar hack available and this is pretty obviously the inspiration behind their including it with Realtek audio already available. How unbelievably strange IMO but I guess it's worth something if they made it and it's not the hack, oh well

3 out of 5 eggsGood price

Pros: 1. cheap
2. lots of connections
3. cheap

Cons: idk yet

Other Thoughts: I bought it alright? It's good ok? However I ran prime95 and left for work, when I returned the PC was off :? I tried to trace my event log but couldn't really make sense of it, I'm using a Hyper N520 so cooling isn't issue, especially with 6 fans inside case :O I think it was a power outtage but can't be sure because when I left the lights flickered and stuff, but it lasted 2 hours for testing so I'm not sure what to think. I will run the testing for 24 hrs blend and 24 small fft to see how it reacts, so far 54C with Furmark and Prime95, I hope it's not the board or PSU and that it's stable grr

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Board

Pros: Booted up without a hitch.

Cons: Nice Bios lots of options .... I am running a 2.7 unlocked a-6 amd processer. Only thing is my ram is running at 1333 mhz instead of 1600 ram is corsair vengance pc 1600 ram.had the same issue on a rma ecs board must be because the a-6 is a newer processer maybe the bios need an update already running the latest bois though . Much better than the buggy ECS board i had before .

Other Thoughts: Was an ECS fan because they were a good value for the money................. Now I will be purchasing nothing but biostar for my future builds . Look at there website for any board they do regular bios updates for there products. This tells me they care about there products working with the latest electronics.
