BIOSTAR TA75M FM1 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: I bought one of these for use in a plain vanilla, not overclocked HTPC build. It offers a nice set of features for the price, and it works as advertised. The factory packaging is suitable for usual handling during shipment.

Cons: No con with the one that I got, but others have been less fortunate.

The user ratings here for this and other products suggest that the manufacturer relies on end users for quality control. About 15% - 20% of them are DOA or otherwise functionally unsatisfactory.

Other Thoughts: Everything on the board that I have tried to use works reliably. I haven't tried the USB 3 ports.

I'm using this MB with an AMD A8 3850, 2 x 4 GB GSkill Ripjaws X series RAM, and a Coolermaster GeminII M4 slim CPU cooler. The cooler just barely clears the RAM heat sinks.

Pros: Got here quickly. RMA was painless

Cons: Was getting lots of blue screens, and although it would still boot up, couldn't handle the blue screens. so I bought this board as a temp solution till I could afford a new build.
after making all my connections I attempted a start up. the power switch worked but the power off didn't.
the board lit up, and thats the best it ever did.

after going thru every troubleshooting thing i knew, still nothing. So I gave up and reinstalled my old board. Power on and off worked fine. I bit the bullet and ended up buying another board ram and cpu. Stand by, it hasn't gotten here yet, have fingers crossed.

Other Thoughts: I like newegg. Have been a customer for years. Not happy with the new pop ups when visiting the site. Most people are savvy enough to know that you can't get a new Ipad by answering 3 questions. It just gets in the way of getting doing to business. please stop

Pros: Used this motherboard for an HTPC [Processor: AMD A4-3300, RAM: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600, Case/PSU: APEX TM-524]. Everything assembled together easily and started right up. So far no real complaints.

Cons: There is a 2-digit LCD on the board that supposedly displays the CPU temperature in hexadecimal, but the values sometimes do not make sense. For example, a display of 25 would be 2*16^1 + 5*16^0 = 37, which is a reasonable temperature (in Celsius). But sometimes the display reads for example 08, which would be 8C (too cold to be real), or if the first digit is actually a D and not a zero, D8 would be 216C, which is unrealistically hot. Also I never see any of the hexadecimal digits use A through F, which just seems like it's not working properly.

Overall this isn't a big deal as I'm not overclocking the CPU or anything, but it would be nice if the feature worked the way it says it should.

Pros: The lights on the board itself were pretty. Other than that, I wouldn't know since it didn't post.

Cons: THE @#*&^ THING WOULDN'T $^#(% POST right out of the box!!!

My mom called me from CA to let me know her old computer had finally gone belly up after six years of faithful service. Naturally, I hate to think of ma and pa not having the ability to play solitaire, so I did what any good, nerdy son would do: I called my little bro and we agreed to split the bill on a new system for the parents, and I would slap it together and send it down to them. When I told my mom what we planned, she literally wept tears of joy for getting a new comp from me and the little bro.

Should be a walk in the park. I'm a pretty geeky guy. I've built at least 18 different systems over the years and none of them failed. Normally, I have a few rules of thumb: Only use Western Digital for the HD (had too many bad Seagate experiences), only use AMD processors (they're decent enough and priced well), always splurge the money on the power suppply, and *until this time*, only use ASUS or MSI for the MoBo. However, the reviews on the Biostar looked decent enough, I thought "what the heck, should be fine..."

WRONG. So, soooooo wrong.

I'm now out $11.55 in shipping to RMA my MoBo back to Newegg because I violated my own rules. This is the first and may become the last time I use Biostar in a build. It's bad enough my folks have to wait another full week before I can send them their new comp, but on top of that, I have to have all these freakin' computer parts sitting on my desk until I get a new MoBo (not to mention the tremendous pain in the rear-end it was to have rip the entire build apart once it was assembled to begin with.

Other Thoughts: Well, this has been cathartic, but I'm still pretty fumed over the whole ordeal. Seriously, I am pretty frustrated with this first Biostar experience and will likely go back to sticking with ASUS and MSI.

Pros: Cheap. USB3. Looks nice.

Cons: Tech support is VERY poor. RAM will not OC as stated. Tried Every solution over the last year. Now giving A3 error(3A?) A3 is not listed in manual. The time is incorrect so it must be an RTC problem. I have been troubleshooting that problem with no success. I gave up on OC on the RAM. Now i give up on the Mobo.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy it.

Pros: Usual great service from Newegg.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Wish I had known PSUs came in 20 and 24 pin configurations. This mobo needs 24 pin.

Pros: had all the features wanted for a good price

Cons: the most unstable board i have ever had. i have built nearly a dozen pc's using ASUS or GIGABYTE boards with no problems in the last 3 years. this mobo looked good for an inexpensive FM1 build mainly for web and some low level graphic apps. purchased this board in june 2012. worked good right out of the box. fast forward to october this year, screen freezes after 30 minutes or so of use. then blue screen. did a bios upgrade, no change. contacted BIOSTAR tech and was told to remove 1 memory stick. no change. replaced the 8 gb (2x4) g-skill with a 2 gb CRUCIAL stick just for grins. pc worked ok for a few days, then refused to post at startup.. moved the memory around to new slot, got constant beeping from mobo with no post. whooooo, pc shut down all by itself while writing this review. scary. moved the 2gb stick to a 3rd slot and now is working ok, may have 2 dead memory slots out of 4. sending it to BIOSTAR for warranty repair. will upgrade this review if and when i get it back and test it.

Other Thoughts: So, I maybe the unfortunate party, since it's been longer than 30 days on this since I bought it, hooked up everything to it and realized my dvd drive had an ide hookup instead of a sata. No big deal, since everything started up fine the first round of turning it on. Get my sata dvd drive, at a killer price, hook it all up and nothing. It turns on, but there's no signal to my monitor. Tried the video card, it works fine, but the mother board is a horrible product. After a little trouble shooting, determined it's the mother board. DO NOT BUY!

Pros: Everything that you "NEED" is included on this MoBo...SATA3, USB3, HDMI, 4x Mem Slots on FM1 Socket, Dual CrossfireVideo Capable, 7.1 Audio, GigaBit LAN!!!! Internal USB3.0 Header to add Front Facing USB3.0!!!!

Cons: Crucial Ballistix 1866 Memory wouldnt run at stated timing specs from Crucial Manufacturrer, but when I enable the AutoOC in BIOSTAR MoBo BIOS it works as stated @ 1866mhz....BUT AT WAY DIFFERENT MEMORY TIMINGS!!!

Other Thoughts: Paired with AMD A8-3850, 4gb Crucial Ballistix 1866, OCZ Agility3 60gb, ASUS BluRay Drive, Rosewill 3.5 Drive USB 3.0 & MemCard Reader.....this beast boots in 26seconds to Windows7 Desktop and plays new games no problem!!!

Pros: Beautiful design! and everything fits perfectly

Cons: Only detecting cd drives via sata....but the ssd and the hard drive arent detected at all....im gonna send it back :).
