5 out of 5 eggsAwesome little board

Pros: Cheap, effective and everything you could want in a very small footprint.

I've used 3 of these in different capacities. One as a HTPC, one as a desktop, one for a project test bench. They all have worked flawlessly. Installation is quick and easy.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value Prices Mother Board

Pros: Worked Perfect for me right out of the Box!! Sleep Mode works great. Loads fast. Has a USB 3.0 header for front panel USB 3.0. Nice Low Price. I used the BIOS update utility with no problems. All in all a good value!!

Cons: None - Well wish it included the front panel USB 3.0 - Item#: N82E16811996037

Other Thoughts: Add the NEWEGG Item#: N82E16811996037 - BioStar front panel USB 3.0 IF.

3 out of 5 eggsHad a problem...

Pros: Good features for money. Not a con but wish it had two more usb.

Cons: Had a signifigant problem on first boot and hope this review helps someone to not RMA.
Board would not boot or show any signs of life. Tested power supply (good). Maybe new case power switch? Shorted power pins on board. Fans and lights for one second. Shorted again and nothing. Waited 10 seconds and shorted again. Lights and fans for one second. WTH. Waited 10 seconds again and shorted. Full boot. Shut down and reconnected power switch and everything works great and running fine for 24 hours. Also did burn in for about 1/2 hour with 3670 APU OC' at 2.9.

Other Thoughts: Now maybe this was a fluke but anyone who was not persistent would think they had a bad board. I like Biostar and have used quite of few of their boards without issue but could not give more than three stars. Maybe it should have been one star?

5 out of 5 eggsSolid board

Pros: Small, well laid out, good feature set for the price, reliable.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I have used Biostar boards for a long time and they have always been reliable performers with good features at reasonable prices. This board continues that trend and so far is very stable and cool running.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Great Price, ATX form, all connectors are easy to access. Good manufacturer website. New style bios interface. So far very stable on different Operating Systems. All solid state capacitors. 6 sata connections. Using an A8-3850, and 8 gig of 1600 memory. 1 gig ethernet connection.

Cons: I could really use another System Fan. There is only one. All my cases use push/pull fans. So I have to find a splitter or conversion. Only 2 memory slots. I bought it knowing that so no minus egg. Six sata connections and only 2 sata cables? Come on man - at least half of em. Save and Exit should be the default in the BIOS - not discard.

Other Thoughts: I played with it. First I ran with Windows 8. It found all the drivers and worked fine - no issues. I don't care much for Window 8. Then a cloned my current Windows 7 desktop. It found everything fine and ran with a Windows Experience of 7.4 for CPU and 7.3 for Memory. Graphics was the anchor with 5.9, but not bad for integrated graphics.

Then I installed Windows Server 8 R2 enterprise as a failover domain controller. It installed fine, and found all the drivers. Using Hyper-V I installed Ubuntu and Ubuntu Server. Both installed without problems but I did not test heavily.

I don't overclock. It just shortens the life span. But for a server to run quietly in the corner this is great. It would be a fast desktop and can do everything well except heavy gaming.

3 out of 5 eggsSolid Board

Pros: Great stable board. No issues

Cons: Limited bios overclocking options. I know the 3850 won't overclock even though the bios will let you change the multiplier, but really biostar, no options to change or increase base clock

5 out of 5 eggsBennie

Pros: Awesome couldnt ask for a better board last 4 pc I have built have been with Biostar I got one thats almost 5 yrs old just upgraded it to win 7 from xp.
I find myself on this pc more then I do on the 8100 I built awhile back Biostar is best bang for the buck never had a issue with them. Paired this with a 3850 and a couple of really old 500 gig drives going to purchase a ssd drive soon, if you are worried or have doubts dont this is a awesome little board I love the apu and Biostar thank you so much. Please note for people having bsod check your memory chances are they are not compatable I AM running GSKILL 2X 4 1866 it just works.

Cons: none how could there be SWEET!

Other Thoughts: I CAN game and surf and do whatever vid rendering and such no prob simply a amazing board and setup.

1 out of 5 eggsBlue Screens on both original and Replacement

Pros: The price and options (USB 3, Sata 6g\bits).

Cons: This board is one you may want to stay away from.

Blue screens, Bios flash program does not work in Windows 7. No way to update the bios. USB input devises (mouse or keyboard) do not wake up the PC unless you change that in the bios. It should come default that way.

Other Thoughts: Spend a little more money and get an Asus and skip the headaches.

5 out of 5 eggsNice modern board.

Pros: USB 3.0, SATA 6, cheap price=one great combo! Good performance for your higher end FM1 applications, reliable.

Cons: Honestly can't think of any for the price I paid for it. You can't expect it to outperform ones costing over $30.00 more than it.

Other Thoughts: If you want more features, pay more. For the price, I've used this board in over 20 builds to date, and all have worked flawlessly, some going nearly a year. Highly recommended.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the kind review. Biostar's main focus is to bring the best bang for the money.
