2 out of 5 eggsWorked for a while

Pros: Was a good bundled deal.

Cons: Quit unexpectedly, is not longer on NewEgg, very specific to replace.

Other Thoughts: Worked great for a year, then just stopped. The codes on this motherboard I thought would specify the problem, but I guess they're all generic error codes according to the manual and dont mean much else. I'm going with something new this time around.

5 out of 5 eggs3 years - going strong

Pros: Still working.
All the memory worked first try, cpu is easy to upclock using desktop adj thru Biostar included software.

Cons: None that I can think of

Other Thoughts: Have this board paired w/32GB 1333, i7-2700k running @ 4.4GHz, 256GB SSD os, 500GB programs, 1TB/2 data, and a 6-drive 5TB raid 5 for video storage. Drives are OCZ, Seagate hybrid, WD Black, and Seagate Barracudas respectively. Using Noctua NH-U12S for cpu, Fractel R4 case w/2 extra 14cm fans on low. Highpower raid card
So far, so good.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Overclocks well. I have been able to overclock my I5 4670k to 4.4ghz without changing voltage. I have been able to overclock my 4x2GB corsair XMS 1600mhz ram to 1800mhz, it's remained stable. The 2 sata 6gbs ports host my SSD and 2TB HDD just fine.

Cons: Had trouble overclocking to 4.6ghz with extra voltage. Lots of BSOD. I wouldn't dock an egg considering this is a budget board, and I haven't seen too many reviews of people being able to overclock the I5 4670k past 4.5ghz, on more 'high end' boards.

Other Thoughts: Over all solid board, great bang for the buck. I am waiting to test a new EVGA SuperClock GTX 660 when I get the chance. I am expecting some great FPS increase over my GTX 460. From what I understand it doesn't matter between PCI X 16 3.0 and 2.0 as far as performance because the bandwidth at 2.0 hasn't even been maxed yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board Still Going Strong

Pros: This board has every feature you need for a high end system. My friend let me try his two R7 265's in my system and I let him try my R9 270, And it does a great job with crossfire. No micro stutter and it beat the GTX 770 in benchmarks and was very close to the GTX 780. So the PCIe lanes have plenty of bandwidth for crossfire. And it is very easy to overclock. It is a shame this board is no longer available, Because this board is the best bang for buck Ivy Bridge board period. And people can build a high end rig for cheap. It was because of the price of this board, I was able to afford the faster Intel i5 CPU over the slower AMD 8core CPU. The VRM heatsinks do a great job keeping everything cool. This board is as good as any other high priced high end board in my opinion. I have not had any trouble from it so far, And the on-board sound is very good contrary to what others have said. Mine has a i5 3470 chip in it. And 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1600 and a HIS R9 270. And soon I will buy another HIS R9 270 and crossfire it since I was so impressed with the R7 265 in crossfire.

Cons: The main PCIe slot should have been placed lower from the CPU, So you have to be a bit more careful installing your GPU. The temps on the board are very good. But they would be even better if the main PCIe slot was further down from the CPU. This would allow wider airflow and keep the heat of the GPU and the heat of the CPU further away from each other. But it is not much of a issue at all, Especially for the price. If you have a side case fan blowing air away from your GPU then this does not matter anyway.

Other Thoughts: Some have claimed the on-board sound is junk and the Bios needs updated. But so far I have had no problems with sound at all (knock on wood) As a matter of fact the sound on the board is much better than the sound on my old 1156 MSI P55-GD65 board. Also my board did not need a bios update at all. Everything worked out of the box fine.

3 out of 5 eggsBiostar TZ77A

Pros: Budget board. A lot of features like UEFI Bios and Usb 3.0 ports on an Z77 chipset for a really good price. I ended up picking this up as it was being discontinued I guess given the price I paid.

3 Year Warranty

Cons: Mainboard ships with a bios that must be updated to use the UEFI bios with a mouse properly.

QA control, my mainboard has a usb slot that I cannot plug anything into.

Some usb slots don't register a device. I must unplug and plug it in again to try and get the input device to work.

Other Thoughts: Given the price I paid I think the board is a below-average 60 dollar budget board considering my board shipped with a hardware defect that could easily have been caught. If I paid the normal price on this board I would have sunken it with less eggs.

Biostar makes great high-end mainboards which I will continue to consider in my future builds;however, I will not buy a Biostar budget line board again. The QA control is very disconcerting. Having a board with a usb port that is not sized properly and ships with a bios that was clearly not tested just makes me believe Biostar just wanted a mainboard on the market as soon as possible.

1 out of 5 eggsThree times bad

Pros: Price and features

Cons: First board failed after three months of use. The second board never would get out of CMOS. The third board had two bad memory slots which I found out on line that it seems to be a common problem. Going back to an AMD product.

4 out of 5 eggsIt Works!

Pros: Inexpensive board, and worked perfectly right out of the box. This was my first Biostar purchase, so far I am very satisfied with the performance. It replaced another brand of motherboard which only lasted 16 months or so before the "B" memory channel failed, and cost a lot more money. This board is pretty basic, kind of like an old 1970's Ford pickup. Not too fancy, but it always runs and gets the job done, a real workhorse.

Cons: My only complaint is that the PCB seemed to be warped a little bit where the back panel connections are located but for the price I can't complain because it doesn't seem to affect performance. The Toverclocker software is not very good, so I uninstalled it. Better to change the settings in bios anyway.

Other Thoughts: This board, for the price was an excellent buy, but I can't vouch for its long term reliability as I have only had it for a short time. I was able to overclock my Sandy Bridge I5 2500K to 4GHZ with water cooling without any difficulty and could probably take it farther, but I don't really see the need to do so . I had to overclock in BIOS because the Toverclocker software was worthless.
