4 out of 5 eggsGreat board!

Pros: Works great, overclocking capabilities, price

Cons: First board didn't work.

Other Thoughts: This was the mobo I used in my first PC build, and it worked out great! I've owned it for a few months now, and have only had one problem: the first didn't work. Other than that, it functions perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat budget board!

Pros: Great connector layout, lots of room with nothing crowded. Plenty of available expansion slots. Header for front panel USB 3.0. Useful LED display. Excellent price (less than half of initial MSRP). Great feature set.

Cons: None for me.

Other Thoughts: This chipset is now two years old and therefore getting somewhat obsolete, I guess. That's not really a con to me, since it still works with currently available CPU, memory, and video cards, and will for some time. Also, the age means a huge discount - seems this board was $140 MSRP when it originally came out in 2012! I would have liked built in coaxial digital output, but at the price, I could easily afford to buy a separate sound card which adds that. And it's not like there are many other boards which have coaxial digital output built in - even less if you want an Intel CPU. Had no problems installing two of these boards, one for my computer and one for my wife. Both are using a Pentium G2130 CPU, 8GB of Vulcan DDR3 1600 (2 x 4GB), and Windows 7.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat price, but some quality issues

Pros: Great price -- I got mine on sale for $58.99, incl. shipping.

There's a much wider array of features that you'd expect in a basic board, such as USB 3.0 headers, LED debug display, onboard reset & power button, overclocking tools, etc.

Overall, a great buy if you're looking to build a basic system, and want to focus your limited budget on other components.

Cons: Had only minor issues at first (USB keyboard only recognized in BIOS on *every other* reboot. Seriously.), but then starting rebooting every few seconds, with an error code of "d0".

I just contacted Biostar support, so we'll see how they are about replacing it. At the moment, though, I'm thinking that I should have gotten a different board, or at least gotten the same board from a local retailer, so I wouldn't have to wait on RMA shipping, etc.

Also, the included manual is really limited in some sections. Instructions on installing components, etc., are fine, but the list of BIOS POST Codes is missing almost every one of the codes I've actually had show up (including "d0"). Not sure if they use all 256 possible codes, but details are only given for 53 of them.

Other Thoughts: Like I said, I'm waiting to hear back from Biostar, and hopefully they'll be able to get me a working board. If so, then I'll be completely satisfied with this purchase. At the moment, though, I'm feeling some buyer's remorse...

Once I get things handled with Biostar, I'll post an updated review.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth it

Pros: Stable, solid, nice overclock ability, 8 phase power, 8 channels audio, low price, 32 gb ram, supports onboard graphics.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I bought one as a test for my mini-render farm with i7 3770k cpu's. Using the Coolermaster hyper evo 212 I am overclocking to 4.6 ghz at a stable max temp of 70 c on all cores. Very easy to overclock in the bios and runs prime 95 for 24 hours without errors or temp issues.
After a few days of testing I purchased several more of these boards for the rest of my render farm with the CM evo 212's. This board is a steal for this price. Highly recommended

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice MB

Pros: I like this MB, great for upgrading, 4 memory slots 2 pcie slots for crossfirex if you decide to go with that.
Good range of intel processors if on a budget you can start off with a nice inexpensive dual core Celeron, and as budget allows move up to core i3, i5, i7.
Has pcie 3.0 slot if you use i5 or i7 to take advantage of this feature.
2 sata 6.0, usb 3.0.
easy to clock memory to the speed it needs manually or with xmp profiles if the memory you have supports xmp.
Nice debug led display on board that doubles as a cpu temp display after booted up into OS.

Cons: None what so ever very easy setup.

Other Thoughts: Got this board with a dual core Celeron g1610 ivy bridge to start with, until I decide to upgrade to i5 or i7 later,
the g1610 Celeron is a great cpu (in another review).
Have this running 8gb 2x4gb team elite 1333 ram easily clocked to 1600mhz by just going in bios and setting it to 16 (1600) on ram settings.
have an amd radeon hd 6750 this setup runs fast and snappy, great for gaming, been able to runs on high settings and just play.

This setup-
tz77a MB biostar
2x4gb 8gb team elite mem clocked 1600mhz
1 tb sata III Seagate HDD
lg blu ray optical drive sata
amd radeon hd 6750 graphics card
intel Celeron g1610 ivy cpu
corsair rm650 650w full modular psu
nzxt gamma case.

Recommend this board, great easy setup, plenty of OC settings if needed.

4 out of 5 eggsFine, but no Fan Control or "Boot USB First"

Pros: Layout allows for 2 GPU's with a slot between them for air flow. Has internal header for serial port.

Cons: No fan control. I thought fan control was a standard feature these days. You have to be careful to pick your fans: ~1500 RPM for a quiet PC. Or use a separate fan controller. It does have CPU fan control. Also, there is no "Boot USB First" option, so you can't set a bunch of them up for field deployment and auto-update if an update flash drive is inserted. User intervention in the BIOS is required to change the boot order, then it reverts back to HDD boot when the USB flash is removed. I bought 3 for field deployment, luckily I can use them in house. But I'll be shopping (and reading the owner's manual) for a different board for mass deployment.

3 out of 5 eggsGood value but could have been better

Pros: Good value. Works without any unusual problems. Compatible with 4-pin Aux power cable. Debug LED and power and reset switches on the motherboard are an unexpected bonus at this price level.

Cons: Would have been nice if the PCIe could be configured as two x8.
It's really unfortunate that only the CPU fan header supports PWM (4-pin) and the other two fan headers are only 3-pin.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board, low price!

Pros: Very low cost board, yet has many nice features. On board power/reset buttons. Bootup LED display that then changes over to CPU temp once boot is complete. Works great with my I7-2600k. It is a step up from my Z68 it is replacing and I spent more than twice the price on that board.

Cons: For some unknown reason, my mouse seems 'jittery' when in the BIOS. Manufacturer has a BIOS update that should fix it, but I don't plan to be in the BIOS more than 5 minutes this year. Just set it and go.

Other Thoughts: Bought this mother board as I had a Gigabyte board that was starting to act up. Needed a cheap board to test if the problem followed the CPU or the Motherboard. Used this board and my reboot/raid issues went away. Was originally going to upgrade again, but not needed as this board has everything I need plus some.
