5 out of 5 eggsNice little board

Pros: Nice manual, nice quick start guide.

Board is clearly labelled and connectors are in logically places. Installed like a breeze and works like a charm

Cons: Two more SATA ports would be nice. But can't really complain at this price pont.

2 out of 5 eggsLarger Grahpic Cards Proble

Pros: It runs ok

Cons: Tried to install a larger Graphic card and lost 2 SATA ports. Alignment is off for larger graphics cards. This was a problem for me since I needed the connections available for my swap drive cage. In addition, as another review stated, when the system powers down(Despite modifying the settings in Windows) too often I have to reset to get the screen back.

Other Thoughts: This mother is good for Web surfing, but if you would like to add additions to it,look for another board, very limited for expansions.

4 out of 5 eggsWorking good so far

Pros: Small, cheap, Has usb 3.0 and sata 6 GBPS

Cons: Holes are SLIGHTLY off, not enough to make a difference though. My Sapphire 6870 covers most of the sata ports, so buy curved sata cables if you have a non discreet card

1 out of 5 eggsREBATE NOT RECEIVED YET

Pros: Price

Cons: Rebate submitted in October 2012 and accepted by booster, but I haven't receive payment yet.

Other Thoughts: If the rebate is not payed, the price is deceiving.
I will update my review if I ever get the rebate.

2 out of 5 eggsBIOS problem

Pros: The board works great when it wants to.

Cons: It needs a BIOS update to address a memory corruption problem in the lowest 1MB of physical memory and as FM1 is outdated I see none coming forth. It freezes/crashes randomly at least once a day requiring a hard shutdown/reboot.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear of your issue. If time please contact gerry@biostar-usa.com on your related issue.

2 out of 5 eggsdoes not recover from powersaver mode

Pros: Low cost. Easy install. Decent video playback at 1080p. No problem with amd a8-3850 apu. Chip works fine with this board.

Cons: Fails to wake after screen power saver mode under xp. Poor copy speeds on small files under xp. Almost hangs on 1k files however performs better under win7. Not a problem encountered on earlier model (a75g3) biostar mb I own when using same hard drives.

Other Thoughts: Board's performance is kinda slow overall especially with data transfers. Using 2 seagate Sata III 7200 rpm drives. It may be poor quality mb at fault or just bad amd chipset drivers. Hard to Say. For a budget build it just ok.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: None at all

Cons: I had the same problem like some others. My computer turned on for 1 min, then died. No video, my other GPU will not even function. I couldn't even get my mouse to work when the board did start up. I RMA'd it. But if the replacement does not work I'm out $60. No quality control anymore. How Sad.

Other Thoughts: Get it together BIOSTAR :/

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear of your troubles, but chances of two boards doing this same problem is not likely, may be one of your other components or shorting out from inside of case. Please don't hesitate to contact Biostar support for futher assistance. 626-581-1055 menu 2 or email support@biostar-usa.com

1 out of 5 eggsBlack Screen After Display Resumes from Power Save

Pros: - Cheap.

Cons: - After 15 or so minutes of inactivity, windows turns off the monitor to save power. After the monitor enters power save mode, moving the mouse turns the monitor back on, but a black screen is displayed.

- Catalyst display drivers are junk.

- Takes some effort to get Linux running.

Other Thoughts: - Paired with AMD A4-3400 Llano APU (Newegg Item N82E16819106014).

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Well

Pros: Small, cheap, features for basic to moderate system use. Easy set up / installation

Cons: none really

Other Thoughts: Works as intended, certainly not a monster board, but works for lots of games and even dual monitor off of the on-board video.
