BIOSTAR AMD A55MD2 Ver. 7.0 (Hudson D2) Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Other Thoughts: we use this for gaming purposes. never overheats, no problems. runs smooth

Pros: This is my first time buying a Biostar board and im very happy and it works great!! If i need any mother boards in the future i will definitely look for Biostar first.

Cons: Only has 2 header pins for the front USB but i knew that going in so im not giving it any less eggs because of that. Also the power/reset/HDD light header pins were a bit to far for the towers plug block but i just "extended" the wires and they worked fine.... not a huge deal for me so its not losing any eggs over that either.

Other Thoughts: Nope =D

Pros: Cheap(!). Opted for this board for a friend on a small budget. Purchased this in a combo deal with a 5800K, no problems working beautifully.

Also, compared to high end boards, the process of OCing was...simplified (for lack of a better word), for beginners I suppose; couldn't figure out where to tweak bus speed (refer to Cons), so OCing was primarily done with multiplier. Voltage was conveniently located in the same sub-menu as multiplier. Really difficult to argue against at this price point.

Cons: Only 4 USB ports, and USB 2...too? The BIOS, I feel, is poorly organized, with options scattered across it menus. CPU options were located in two different menus. (I realize it's not a fair comparison when my personal board cost nearly 4x this amount). Couldn't figure out where to adjust Bus Speed, and couldn't disable AMD's PowerNow! (Quiet n' Cool) for some reason.

Other Thoughts: The Pros out weigh the Cons. If I had to build another PC for someone, no question I'll opt for this motherboard again.

Of course Newegg got me the component in less than 3 days from payment to deliver. If only UPS is as competent as Newegg; they left hundreds of dollars worth of PC components at the doorsteps of the wrong house no less! C'mon UPS get on the ball...

Pros: I have bought two of these motherboards, and both match my expectations, given my expectations are naturally low this may or may not mean much, however Biostar has yet to disappoint me, and I have purchased 5+ motherboards, all being from Biostar. The computers I have made from these motherboards have been different Socket types, but still yet to disappoint, hope I don't jinx myself.

Cons: Can't think of any as of yet.

Other Thoughts: Nice motherboard for a nice price, I'm satisfied.
