Pros: Only got it because it came with 8gb RAM. Still works so far.

Cons: 7790 covers a sata port and it covers the usb connection for the computer case. You can still manage to plug it in but its a very tight fit. USB and Sata placement is terrible.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet Board, Great Upgrade Path

Pros: Great Upgrade path from my 2009 Build Biostar MCP6PB M2+ which was limited to 4GB DDR2 Ram and Quadcore CPUs. This motherboard supports a large range of CPUs allowing me to migrate my Athlon II x4 620 2.6Ghz AM3 CPU to this build. This board supports the AMD FX-8350 4Ghz 8-core, and so I will be upgrading to the Piledriver at some point. This motherboard has the best of both worlds for a person looking to upgrade and use older hardware. This motherboard has a single IDE ATA100 connection for 2 x IDE drives allowing me to use my older DVD-RW IDE drive on this new build. This motherboard has 4 x SATA II connections allowing me to add additional drives. Prior motherboard I was limited to 2 x SATA II connections. Motherboard supports PCIe 16x 2.0 video cards allowing me to use a video card that would not work with my older build because the video card was too new and the older motherboard did not support it. Its working nice and fast on this new build with 1GB DDR3 video RAM. ( Best part of this deal was that it came with 8GB Crucial DDR3 1600mhz RAM, all for less than $73 )

Cons: NONE

5 out of 5 eggsGood Motherboard

Pros: This is an awesome motherboard for the price. It works flawlessly.

Cons: This motherboard does not support Usb 3.0, it also does not come with a harness to hook front panel wires to which would make wiring easier. One word of advice I would give is do not pair this motherboard with a huge aftermarket heat sink such as the Coolermaster Hyper 210 EVO. The heatsink will cover one of the memory slots. Luckily the ram I got was low profile and still fit. However I do not believe regular ram would fit. In addition wiring becomes much harder as the heat sink covers up the usb 2.0 front panel slots and makes plugging in the cpu fan wire from the PSU a pain.

Other Thoughts: I did not know that the delete key was the button to press to enter the bios with this motherboard, it is not stated in the manual/poster/instructions the board came with.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: Price, free ram.

Cons: no USB 3.0, no 6gb/s SATA connections, only 2 ram slots (not 4)

Other Thoughts: All in all, this was perfect for my budget gaming build. It let me put more money into my graphics card and processor, and only took away from secondary things like usb speed, which is not the purpose of this system.

4 out of 5 eggsFine mobo

Pros: Price, all the essentials for a solid performing machine, has HDMI video connection

Cons: Video card covers one SATA connection rendering it useless. 4-pin rather than 8-pin EPS connector limits power to mobo, ONLY 2 slots for memory, 3.0 USB not 6.0

Other Thoughts: With a reasonably priced build, you probably are relegated to only 16 gb memory because there are only two memory slots. As I stated above, if you use a decent video card, it will cover up one of the SATA connections, so you really only have 3 SATA connections. 3.0 USB speed is really all you can expect for this price. If you buy this mobo, you probably are not concerned about 6.0 USB connection anyway. It's a good board for the money. It just has a few limitations which won't affect the quality of the board.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat quality, fast with Fx-6300

Pros: First two are big reasons I chose this Biostar motherboard. Plus I have a Biostar AM2 motherboard AMD x2 4600+ that still runs to this day with no problems.

- PATA connector. Try to find another AM3+ motherboard in this price range that has a PATA. There aren't many, or is this the only one.
- Has two ps/2 connectors, a necessity. The combo ports showing up on other motherboards are no good.

- front panel pins well labelled
- came with 2 SATA 6gb/s cables
- no problems yet, setup was easy
- currently running 1.35V DDR3-1600 at 1866

Cons: - Not really a negative but the front panel USB connectors are poorly located if you have a large video card. I was still able to plug in the connectors from my Antec 200 but it was tight.

Other Thoughts: Great motherboard. I would recommend it to anyone looking for quality hardware. I've now had Biostar motherboards on my last 2 systems and never have had a problem. Great to see continued PATA support and connectivity for 2 ps/2 devices.

4 out of 5 eggsInexpensive micro ATX AMD motherboard

Pros: Inexpensive motherboard that accommodates an AM3+ cpu. Not a whole lot of frills and additional slots. Paired with an inexpensive quad core Athlon II X4 640, a single 8 GB DDR3 stic, and a PCIe Nvidia 8400GS for Linux and MythtV. Analogue audio seems fine – but I’m only playing through TV speakers. The BIOS was simple to configure memory speed and other options. Has four SATA 3 Gb/s and one ATA100 PATA port. The one ATA100 port was helpful for me, since I reused an old IDE drive. The PC serves as a home theater computer, so disk access, ram speed, and CPU performance wasn’t a first concern. It worked fine on first assembly and not a single crash on Ubuntu.

Cons: No digital audio out. Heat sinks are very small on the motherboard and actually quite hot to the touch. It would have been nice to have larger heatsinks. Only a portion of the capacitors are long life type. Time will tell to see how long this board will last.

Other Thoughts: This was my first AMD build since an X2 3800+ on Socket 939. For gaming and video editing, stick with Intel builds. For low to medium performance needs, this inexpensive motherboard paired with a cheap quad core build has been more than satisfactory as a budget build.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap

Came with free 8GB RAM.

Has most features of an ATX

Cons: The USB header is right next to the PCIE slot for video cards, so pretty much any dedicated graphics card will sort of block it off. I pinched my header in there, but the fan on my GPU is a bit pinched/pushed. My card is actually pretty small, so beware if you plan on putting a giant card in here, you might not be able to reach the front USB header. I/O shield has holes to pop out that I didn't see. Had to get out pliers to pry them out. They eventually came out though. Make sure you pop them out beforehand!
