5 out of 5 eggsBuy ME

Pros: This replaced a dead MOBO - it went in super easy! That's what she said! Basically plug and play.

BIOS update was smooth like butter and easy as chedda!

Cons: There are some features I wish it had, but I bought it for what it is - not what I wish it was.

3 out of 5 eggsCooling issues that limit perfomace

Pros: - Small
- Cheap
- IDE port
- Supports FX
- "Decent" overclocking support | Not really what this board is meant for.
- Besides cooling problems the board has been working fine for the last year and a half.

I haven't used the onboard graphics.
My gtx 750ti works fine with the board.
Audio quality is pretty great. I haven't had any issues with it.

Cons: Northbridge is overheating with my FX 6300. I have 3 case fans that provide decent airflow. My FX stays at 50-55C, but the Northbridge skyrockets to 65C under any kind of load.

Once it reaches 65C it underclocks my FX to prevent it from overheating. This means I get horrible performance whenever playing any kind of game, or really anything that uses the CPU.

I haven't been able to replace the heatsink, or reapply thermal paste yet. I'm certain doing that will solve the issue. Still annoying to have to do this at all.

Other Thoughts: It's a cheap board.

Once I replace the Northbridge heatsink, the board should work fine.
SETUP:

FX 6300
PNY GTX 750ti
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600
LOGISYS Computer PS550E12 550W

3 out of 5 eggsThis motherboard worked great... for a few months

Pros: 1. The price of the motherboard was great
2. The motherboard was stable for a few months
3. The motherboard has great support for most of the FX cpu's

Cons: 1.Does not have Sata lll
2. Does not have USB 3
3. Does not have PCI-E 3.0
4.It is an absolute pain to reset the BIOS
5.Fan connectors are in the most stupid places imaginable

Other Thoughts: Please if you have extra money invest in a better motherboard with better power delivery, I have had various problems with this motherboard but if you absolutely have to get this motherboard at least plan to invest into a better one later

5 out of 5 eggsBIOSTAR A960D+ AM3+ AMD 760G + SB710 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Fast enough. Reliable - used it more than for a year and it still works as expected. Brand. Price.

Cons: no SATA 3 ports - not a real con as SATA 3 is a relatively new thing

Other Thoughts: Reliable. Fast. Brand. Cheap.

2 out of 5 eggsSketchy

Pros: Price, features based on price

Cons: purchased this board 9/23/2013, it is now 10/25/2014, just over a year and the board is failing. It runs fine for a few hours then freezes. Last night I swore it was trying to keep from ordering a new MB, because it would freeze as soon as I went to NewEgg to select a new one. Thought it was the video card, replaced it, thought it was the power supply, replaced it (power supply was very suspect after testing) Still getting the same results, determined that it is the motherboard after some research.

Other Thoughts: I've had pretty good luck with Biostar, this is the first board I've ever gotten from them that didn't last very long. This doesn't turn me off of Biostar really, but I'm aggrivated.

3 out of 5 eggs  Awesome minus the USB ports

Pros: Great price. Works great with my FX-6300 at stock speeds.

Cons: I've tried using a USB wifi adaptor in literally every port on the board and even the ones for the front of my case with no luck at all (and yes I've tested it on another PC). Not only that but has been the problem with controllers and now USB mice.

Other Thoughts: Wish the return policy was longer because all problems started a month or two after the purchase of board. Or even if there was a way of fixing this issue...

Manufacturer Response:

Please dont hesitate to contact Biostar technical support for assistance

1 out of 5 eggsFailed after 12 Months

Pros: Ran well while it lasted. Easy instructions to put it together.

Cons: Lasted well for 11 months, then started getting some BSOD. About 2 weeks ago, it started freezing and shutting down. Went to restart it and it won't recognize the monitor. Have tried all the other types of troubleshooting (switching RAM slots, trying a brand new RAM, using the MOBO's video systems - disconnecting my VGA - and even re-seating my CPU). None have worked, so the people I've consulted with have said it's most likely a motherboard failure.

Other Thoughts: Contacted the manufacturer's e-support directly on Saturday and have still yet to hear back from them.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear of your troubles, please note there is a 24 business hour response, so if you had requested E-Support on Saturday, you would get E-support reply sometime on Monday. If you have not yet got any reply, please contact gerry@biostar-usa.com for direct support. Thank You

1 out of 5 eggsDidnt Make it 2 Years

Pros: Straight-forward install.

Cons: Only lasted 15 months.
Slowly started producing blue screens, thought it might be memory so swapped it out, blue screens continued to get worse with time and system stopped hibernating entirely.

Other Thoughts: I'll see how well Biostar handles warranty/RMA's
