5 out of 5 eggsGood budget board

Pros: Supports all but the fastest 1150 chips
lots of SATA, with more 6 than 3
4 RAM slots
Biostar has always been good for me

Cons: n/a at this price

Other Thoughts: Good budget board for 1150, runs any CPU you'd reasonably expect to pair with it. lots of RAM slots and SATAs make it better equipped than most micro-ATX boards.

B85 is a little old but still runs all the important bits a great speed.

LGA1150 should be around for awhile, so this is a good entry point for a step into LGA1150 without breaking the bank.

This is probably the 10th or 11th Biostar board I have used, and with each model I tend to build many systems, so I have literally used hundreds of Biostar boards over the years. They very rarely fail or arrive DOA.

Pros: 'Simple board"

Cons: Where to begin:
-First time opening this MOBO, it had some issues where I basically had to reset the bios and started working fine.
-Hard drives, apparently the motherboard will not recognize them, at first i thought it was the power but nope. Then i decided, after a week of not hearing from biostar, to buy a new hard drive and that still didn't help. Instead of a budget of 450 for upgrading, i went over 600.

So i warn you this: skip this board, save yourself the trouble, and waiting for biostar tech support, buy another

4 out of 5 eggsAlright

Pros: Alright is a pretty good description. I was worried spending so little on a motherboard, but it worked well. Start-up is really fast (under 45 seconds), and everything runs cool and smoothly. Really recommended if you want a solid motherboard without all the bells and whistles.

Cons: However, there are a few things that aren't so good. First of all, there are no PWM fan connectors, so all of your system fans will run at 100% all the time. This probably wont be a problem if you have quiet fans, but my fans are obnoxiously loud. You can easily hear my computer from 10 m away. Additionally, I couldn't get my subwoofer to work with the audio drivers. Although I'm expecting this is Realtek's fault.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I recommend this board. It preforms solidly and is stable, despite a few annoyances. But I guess you get what you pay for.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Great for the $$. Had 4 DIMM slots, had PCIEx16 3.0, no frills but not needed. Had never tried Biostar before but had heard great things for cheap.

Cons: DOA on arrival. Hooked up out of the box. Looked great and was excited. Turned on for the 1st time and comp kept cycling after 1-2 seconds. Tested and re-tested all components. MOBO will not POST. DO not buy this product. Spend the extra $10 and no worries.

Other Thoughts: Should have spent the extra $10 for something more recognizable and no hassle. Waste of time on this one.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth every penny and more

Pros: Everything as advertised. Four ram slots, supports 1150 chips, and enough various pci slots for me at such a great price, and all 4 usb2 ports and 2 usb3 ports ended up working great. Recognized my usb mouse/keyboard instantly for bios. The updated bios was super easy to get going and use, took seconds to get through it and start installing windows. Popped in the CD that came with this MB to update everything quickly. Then put in the GPU, updated its drivers and smooth sailing since. Glad I went with this for my first time build.

Cons: Really? Cons* are a required field? How dare you, on such a fine product.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY

Pros: Who knows

Cons: I ordered this board for my company and it did not have the BIOS chip installed. So we send it back for a replacement and the second board comes in. Guess what? There's no BIOS chip on that one either. Biostar has horrible QC. Do not buy from them.

4 out of 5 eggsUser friendly, good features

Pros: Easy to set up for a beginner, well finished, good sound quality

Cons: Red boards go faster?

Other Thoughts: I bought this board for my first build, in part because of the care put into the sound side, but also because it has 4 RAM slots. I've been pleased with it. It was fairly easy for me to install, and it seems to be of decent quality.

5 out of 5 eggs  2 months and going strong

Pros: Purchased 2 of these for my kids builds. 4 memory slots and 6g SATA plus usb 3.0 at this price point is awesome. Biostar hasn't let me down yet.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Take a shot, it's worth it

5 out of 5 eggsDecent board, seems reliable

Pros: - Supported my Core i5-4460 right out of the box, which seems to be an issue with other boards right now
- 3 fan power ports (1 pwm for CPU, 2 for case fans)
- All of the caps seem to be solid, which should improve longevity
- Plenty of SATA ports (4 @ III, 2 @ II, I think)
- Plenty of USB ports (2 @ 3.0, 4 @ 2.0, and then some more on front panel)
- I might have enough room to install a larger CPU cooler without hitting the RAM
- Since my 750 Ti graphics card cooler pushes the air towards the MB, the southbridge heatsink gets almost direct cooling.
- Audio sounds good
- Reasonable layout for all connectors (all power connectors, fans, SATA, front panel, ...)

Cons: - The BIOS reset jumper is way at the bottom of the board, which means that, in my mATX case, I will probably need to uninstall my graphics card to access the CMOS jumper
- The lever which needs to be pushed to remove the graphics card from the PCIe x16 3.0 port will be almost to depress with a 2-slot cooler. It is pretty hard to find any purchase on that level from the CPU-side of the graphics card.

Other Thoughts: - Only came with 2 SATA cables, which is pretty standard, but it forced me to buy another SATA cable (more expensive than imagined)
