5 out of 5 eggsBIOSTAR H61MGV3

Pros: Started right up and works as advertised. The price is very good. Perfect replacement board for PC.

Cons: If there was a con, it would be that the color in the picture is not the colors on the board. The colors on the board are school buss yellow on the one that I got.

Other Thoughts: This was a very nice board for replacing a burned out board in a store bought pc. I just moved everything over to it. The plug layout is a little different than usual for the sata and usb but everything works. I have a core i3-2100 with the original heatsink and fan. 2 X 4gig original ram from the old pc. I added a GT 630 1gig and a 128gig ssd. Windows 10 64bitt. went in and works fine all around.

4 out of 5 eggsNice little board

Pros: Gets the job done
Works without any problems
Small form factor
Great price

Cons: Odd placement of some power connectors as well as the fan connectors
Did not include a mounting bracket for the CPU fan (not a problem if you are replacing another board)
Low quality BIOS menu

5 out of 5 eggssolid board

Pros: -good board also got the yellow one which is the newer revision (bonus!)
-pci-e 3.0
-fits in my mini itx case
-super cheap at $40 and works great

love biostar boards they are cheap no frills but solid and reliable. Also have the TA970 AMD board from biostar and love that one

Cons: I cant think of many for such a cheap board

Other Thoughts: not many power phases so higher wattage cpus might be taxing on the vrm but works great for my 65watt i3

3 out of 5 eggsGood board, Bad advertising?

Pros: Works

$36

Wasn't DOA as I feared it would be

Cons: 24 pin connector is in a strange place.

I/O shield was cheap as ever, but what do you expect?

The board was ordered specifically for its RED color scheme and price point. I received the board, and it's yellow! I used it anyways, but frustrating nonetheless. Just beware, you may not get the color you expected.

Other Thoughts: Good board so far, I will keep this review updated for a few more weeks.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid budget product

Pros: Price
Size
Easy to use

Cons: Limited connectivity
No system fan control options

Other Thoughts: I got this board for a HTPC and have been running it for a little bit more than a year. In that time I've had zero issues with this board, it boots up quickly, and has enough features for a simple application. Recently I flashed the BIOS with no issues, hoping it would alleviate the issue of always running system fans at full speed, but not luck. So my only word of warning is be aware of how much cooling you will need so you can buy a fan controller to prevent turning your system into a leaf-blower.

4 out of 5 eggsLow Cost

Pros: Low cost. Poor lay out of power connector in relation with the DDR memory slots. Missing the back panel bracket to mount a standard Intel heat sink and fan. I don't understand why all these ppls have DOA MBs. I have been building multiple computer using all the vendors and never had a bad one from the box.

Cons: Lacking bracket as noted above. No mounting hardware: screws, etc.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA - BSOD

Pros: Looked like it had good specs

Cons: According to "geek squad" DOA made me look really really bad.

Other Thoughts: Computer died after 3 weeks of use and when the customer returned to the shop she informed me that she brought it to "geek squad" and they said the mother board was bad.

Manufacturer Response:

Very sorry to hear of your issue, please feel free to contact Biostar support for assistance. 626-581-1055 menu 2 or email support@biostar-usa.com

1 out of 5 eggsFlaws in board design

Pros: The board looked great in the case. :)

Cons: This board is not designed well. Look at the position of the memory slots and 24+ pin connector. In my case, my power supply 24+ rail was too short to allow connection to the board with a memory stick in. Some would say its a PSU/case flaw but most other micro ATX boards have the slots and connector straight across from the peripheral panel. The stretch was so tight it was bending the board upwards once properly connected. I was never able to power on the board because of this.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear of your case, but designs/layout vary by case/power supply manufacturer as well. Come of the case/PSU manufacturers do supply extention cables if needed. Recommend that you contact case manufacturer or PSU manufacturer for assistance.

5 out of 5 eggscheap and dose what it is supose to

Pros: The pros of this mother board is definitively its price point and also that hey its a really stable and reliable mother and for 36 bucks thats just crazy

Cons: Cons none for this price point

Other Thoughts: Iam using this mother board to power an ivy bridge Celeron g1610 and it works great I honestly thought that this board wouldn't work because of how cheap it was but it completely blew my mind away I should honestly be buying more of these for how cheap they are

1 out of 5 eggsDOA and Poor CPU Support

Pros: Low price. PCI Express Slot x1 on the other side of the video card so if a double wide card is installed the PCIex1 Slot isn't blocked. However it also means that double wide video cards can't be used in ITX cases. However I doubt that is a good idea anyways

Cons: Dead on arrival. Doesn't support the Ivybridge G1620 Celeron (according the biostar website) and it didn't work with my Penitum G2020 which is supported.

Other Thoughts: I've had good success with biostar in the past. Don't treat that as a repersentation of the company as a whole.
