2 out of 5 eggsI had it almost a year now it works great

Pros: -easy to install
-great for just casual use and gaming

Cons: -forgot to put second ram on for months but the second dimm isn't working, I took it to computer shop to take a look at the problem and they said that it could be the motherboard.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear of your troubles, please don't hesitate to contact Biostar support at 626-581-1055 menu 2 or email support@biostar-usa.com

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive MOB, This motherboard runs an i7 4770 cool about 22- 35 degrees on high performance. Plus it takes 2133Mhz Ram xmp 1 profile in BIOS - Crucial Ballistix Elite 8X2 GB DDR3 2133 MT/s (PC3-17000) UDIMM 240-Pin Memory - BLE8G3D21BCE1.
Its got 1 x PCI Express 3.0 x16. Its all i need to Xplane 10 with no video card .. HWinfo64 reads the PCI E slot as 2.5 GB when the card isnt in use which mislead me to believe PCI e wasnt 3.0 But it is.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: So far so good . This MOB has been in use for more then 3 week and its working great I believe my usb problems steamed from windows 10 use. But that problem is solved since i went back to windows 8.1 .. Microsoft can keep their new windows 10 beta test bed build which is currently being put out as a finished product.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Budget Board

Pros: For the price, this is a great little board

Cons:
None

Other Thoughts: I used to avoid Biostar boards like the plague. I took a chance and was glad I did. Other brands cost more for the same features as this one.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Price.

Cons: Bought the first one and none of the SATA ports work. (Yes, they were enabled. I've been building PCs since 1987.) So I RMAed it and got the replacement--same issue! At first, I thought that Biostar may have repackaged my my original motherboard and sent it back to me, but the replacement also has problems (about 50 percent of the time) recognizing a keyboard.

Other Thoughts: Guess I won't be buying Biostar anymore.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear of your issue, but it's highly unlikely two different motherboards would produce the symptom problem you mention. Especially when it involves the SATA ports since we need to add a bootable SATA device and boot into Windows to test the functions of the motherboard before we sell or return products to you. Few possible issues you want to check, if you not yet done.
1. Try different SATA DATA/Power cables.
2. Possible your SATA device has failed, please try different SATA device.
3. If you are using a SATA/IDE adapter, they are not supported, please use direct SATA to SATA connections
4. Your SATA hard drive or SSD, may have been in RAID mode, need to delete the RAID partition to detect drive (may need to do clean wipe or use another computer that has RAID function to delete the RAID) (note B85MG does not have RAID support, just native IDE and AHCI support)
5. Power supply issue, recommend to try different power supply.

Should you have any other questions, please feel free to contact gerry@biostar-usa.com for direct support

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: It was really cheap (39.99)
Supports i7-4790 (which I got for a steal locally used)
It works and does what it is supposed to do (be a cheap gaming machine)
plenty of USB headers for front panel USB

Cons: Only 2 RAM slots.
Doesn't support most RAM. Went through about 3-4 sticks of different brands until finally getting one stick to work (Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB DDR3-1600 which is not expensive)
Pretty sure its PCI-E slot is only 8x

Other Thoughts: It's great for a start of a cheap gaming PC, with the ability to take all of your parts and get a better board later (if it even matters). For the price you really can't complain much.

1 out of 5 eggsAwful

Pros: None

Cons: Bought 10 of these things...the first 2 i tried were the most convoluted in terms of getting them to boot from a USB, and then they would default back over to the drive...that wasn't showing up! I would then reboot, and the video went out...8 beep codes = something is wrong with the video. Just absolutely silliness.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board for the price

Pros: Inexpensive, easy to install, well laid out (for my case), all necessary connections, everything well labeled.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: In order to get Windows 10 installed with the latest Pentium processor (without overclocking), I had to upgrade the BIOS. Other than that, installation of the new hardware, and subsequent installation of software was easy and painless.

4 out of 5 eggsSmall but the price is right

Pros: Small, inexpensive, USB 3.0 and DVI-/VGA output, everything you need in a basic motherboard.

Cons: Cramped pci-e 3.0 slot, in general not a lot of room for expansion

Other Thoughts: This is what you'd usually expect for this price range. If you need a lot of expansion cards (wi-fi card, graphics card, thunderbolt card etc) this is definitely not the board for you. Use it in situations where you're building a basic system and will be using an integrated GPU, or where you use a small discrete gpu. For what it sets out to do, this board is great.

1 out of 5 eggsuseless

Pros: Mnhjbhnkhhhvgnk

Cons: First using it allowed me to open menu to select which device I wanted to boot from and everything was ok. But after restarting it, it wouldn't let me press f9 or del to go to the menus ever again, just showed up black with a mouse curser on the bottom corner. I tried downgrading bios like other reviewers have recommend on this site in order to try to fix this problem. But it only made it worse. Turning on the pc you can hear it booting up and everything but my monitor gets no signal. I can't do anything now. I tried using hdmi and VGA. I tried two different monitors, and even tried clearing cmos. But the monitors never show signal.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Please contact our technical support staff so that we can assist you, 626-581-1055 menu 2 or email support@biostar-usa.com

Based on your reported issue, please try to reset the CMOS by jumping the JCMOS1 jumper on the motherboard. Default position is 1-2, move to 2-3 for about 10 seconds, then move back to 1-2. (no power is needed).
