5 out of 5 eggsit Works

Pros: It does what it's supposed to do. It has a good set of features including HDMI. Two months in and it's a stable MoBO.

Cons: Bios needed updating out of the box.

5 out of 5 eggsG3258 OVERCLOCKABLE

Pros: Very inexpensive. If you are doing a budget build and just using one video card, this is the board for you. Has everything you need, USB3, pcie x16, HDMI and overclockable!

ATTENTION: You must downgrade the bios to one before 02-14 to unlock the multipliers. The previous bios would do but it must be before 02-14. You can download the bios utility and bios from the biostar website.

Cons: Ugly colors, use in a no-window case. No DVI,

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: None

Cons: It was DOA. It wouldn't post. It endlessly looped on startup. Tested with proven matching CPU and memory that are currently running in my HTPC, which I also bought from Newegg. Needless to say, it didn't work. Sent it back.

Other Thoughts: Until this order, I have never had a bad experience with Newegg. I depend on honest feedback when purchasing products and expect people to be able to read this review. It is important that my experience is able to be shared by others who may or may not have the luxury of time for an RMA process. In such cases, from my experience, I would advise people look for another Motherboard with more/ better reviews.

4 out of 5 eggsDOA?

Pros: Does a good job at being a Micro-ATX board. Very intimate form factor while still being feature-heavy.

On-board HD audio and HDMI support, USB 3.0 and SATA 6gb/s.

Couldn't ask for a better price.

Cons: Bought this board, assembled it with a pair of 4Gig DDR3 1600 Ripjaws and an i7 4770k with a zalman CNPS9900 CPU cooler and I can't get it to boot. Upon start up I get 4 short beeps, then the system hangs for a few seconds then restarts. It repeats this process endlessly. No video output at all with or without a GPU. (tried with an old nVidia GTS 240). I feel that either the motherboard or the CPU may be dead, but I'm not sure.

No support for external USB 3.
No E-Sata

Other Thoughts: Not really a con because it's self explanitory, but, The micro-ATX form factor results in some seriously tight fits with some of the connections.

5 out of 5 eggsBiostar H81MHC

Pros: Small and simple motherboard that does does what it is supposed to do. I put it in a small case with 4gb of ram and a 240 ssd drive. It is for email and internet so I don't make many demands.

So if you need something for a quick and easy build I can recommend this board.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsPass on this one

Pros: Works.

Cons: Bios reported CPU voltage as 1.7!!
Too much hassle.
Bios code still needs updated! Bios is from Feb 2014 and that's not new enough for the 3258

Other Thoughts: After flashing the bios to recognize an Intel 3258 it still did not, see it as a 3400 series cpu, so though the voltage came down to normal it locked me out of a lot of cpu bios functions.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat price and product

Pros: 1) Price, less than $50

2) Quality -- I have had a few Biostar motherboards and all have outlasted their usefulness (several years).

3) Up to 16Gb DDR3 1600 memory

4) PCI Express 2.0 x16 if you don't need the latest. Most PCI Express 3.0 cards will work fine -- they just fall back to the 2.0 standards

5) Size (I wanted a Micro ATX board for a particular case).

Cons: Very good board, the only Con that I could fine is listed here:

1) Sleep mode is a bit odd. Even with a power supply that supports Haswell, the best thing I can do in terms of sleep is to go into Hibernate mode. In the BIOS, the sleep mode is listed as "S1 (CPU stop)". In reading, what I can see is that basically S3 sleep mode is not supported.

Other Thoughts: Maybe a newer version of the BIOS will support S3 sleep mode.
* BIOSTAR H81MHC LGA 1150
* Intel Pentium G3220 Haswell Dual-Core 3.0GHz
* Works with internal video or PCI Express card for video
