Pros: low power consumption?

Cons: scores terribly on the passmark.....but its cheap.

Other Thoughts: Bought it for a quick update for the old and fading dual core processor in my garage....I think the old computer was actually faster.....but my new SSD hard drive works fast !

Pros: Bois was an easy setup,configured setup to specs. installed Windows 8.1 64 bit, install went perfect.

Cons: After the install I started getting the error message; Your computer ran into a problem and needs to shut down ; (DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE) Driver name; cu173665.inf_amd64_56b78c774c4ebfe4\cu173665.inf DRIVER Ver. 13.251.9001.1001 These were the Drivers provided on the CD with the package. The error message comes up within 3 to 5 minutes after the initial startup and shuts down and restarts and will then run indefinately then, I'm concerned this will lead to a bigger problem and I'll end up losing everything, I've researched this problem with Microsoft and still can't come up with a fix,"NEED HELP".

Other Thoughts: My problem is with Tech Support at BioStar,I requested Technical support on 2-11-2016 and got the reply "I'm not sure what the problem is, I'll confer with a colleague who is more Knowledgeable and get back to you, it has been 18 days and there hasn't been any responses as of yet, I never expected this from a Company like BioStar and my patiense has just about ran out

Pros: I booted this board quickly via PXE to an Archlinux distro that I have setup for mythfrontend purposes. I must say that the A68N-5000 is by far and away the easiest mythfrontend I have ever setup. 1080 video quality is excellent. You may notice some video tearing, disabling your WM compositing will quickly rectify any issues. The Radeon HD 8330 is supported by the linux kernel in my cases by default and makes for a very easy deployment of a mythfrontend. The HD 8330 supports mesa-vdpau and utilizes the video card for decoding functions...The HD 8330 has deinterlacing capability and is very good as well. Processor usage for A4 5000 is about 6% while rendering 1080 HD Video...I can't say enough about this as a mythfrontend.... The open-source radeon module is very good and results are as good or better than my mythfrontends that uses nVidia cards and Intel J1900 CPU's....Idle wattage on the A68N-5000 for me was 15 watts and decoding HD Video was 22 watts....this reading measured at the plug with a Kill-a-Watt meter. this thing sips power.....

Other Thoughts: The Biostar A68N-5000 was out of stock for a week or so before I purchased the board. It immediately went to Auto Notify again after purchase....I intend to replace several Asrock J1900 based mythfrontends that all utilize nVidia Graphics cards for suitable performance. I'm replacing these mostly because of some issues the J1900 boards seem to have with newer linux kernels...after kernel 3.16 they are completely unstable. the extra savings I'll be getting from the electric bill is good too! I highly recommend this board as I believe the work that AMD is doing with the linux kernel is going to make AMD Graphics a very good choice for linux users.

Pros: Looks nice.

Cons: The vga video would scramble when trying to load Windows and Linux onto the hard drive. After adjusting the BIOS settings I got Windows 7 to install but after reboot it locked up with the scrambled screen. I contacted technical support on their website and got a response asking for the information I already gave them. I RESPONDED BUT NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN. I then set the BIOS back to default settings which did not help. Now it appears to be dead and will need an RMA. How is this company in business?

Pros: Great speed good layout. I had no difficulty setting up this board. I'm running this with 16 gig of 1600 ram.
I built a small wooden case for it and with a small fan on the heat-sync I'm getting temps under load of about 42 c
That's quite good considering the case is two inches tall and the size of the board very tight fit.
The BIOS is also east to work with.

Cons: No cons at this time.

Pros: It runs windows 7 and debian 8 very well, and BIOSTAR support/drivers are easy to obtain.

Cons: It wont make coffee, out of the box.

Other Thoughts: I purchased 16 gig of 1600 for this board. It only clocks at 1333 with both sticks, but with one I get the full 1600. It will run Youtube streams perfectly at 720p but 1080 will occasionally miss a frame or two. It will run Warcraft! Command and conquer(all of them).. Dont bother with 16gig- the system will bottleneck between 5-8gig in my experience with it. All in all.. I and happy with its performance.

Pros: Great little motherboard that works well with PCLinuxOS

Other Thoughts: This is a follow-up from my earlier review. Just to clarify, this board definitely will work with DDR3 1600 ram, despite what other reviewers have indicated. My system is using 1x8GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3L (BLT8G3D1608ET3LX0) bought from newegg and it runs fine. Note that CAS latency is 8. BIOS indicates that it is running at 1600, and benchmarks reflect that. Too bad memory costs almost as much as the board!

Pros: Quiet fan-less low power design.

Cons: Could not get memory to clock at DDR1600 regardless the settings using DDR1600 memory, it always clocked at DDR1333.

Fan-less limits case choices (make sure power supply or case has fan)

Pros: Just adding to my original review, IF you install Windows 10 on this, and IF it hangs at startup, or refuses to respond to mouse clicks, or refuses to shut down, or restart, try running MSCONFIG and un-checking Catalyst Control Center at startup. It fixed that, for me. It now starts up and shuts down very quickly. Makes a great small, quiet HTPC. I picked mine up on sale, with 4 GB RAM for $75. Runs HTPC duties nicely in that configuration.

Other Thoughts: Makes an excellent HTPC, upgraded to Windows 10 and runs well, especially after turning of Catalyst Control Center on startup.
