Personal Experience
- Pros: This is a very good motherboard. I have purchased it on April 4th, 2008. Paired it with E8400 and overclocked it to 3.55 GHz on air (aftermarket). This board has never given me issues with anything through this year.
E8400 is still an excellent CPU even today for most every day tasks.
This motherboard is a very good overclocker - able to change a very large amount of options via BIOS, if need to. Again, I do not push my system to LN2-cooling requirements.
- Cons: No cons at this time.
For unfortunate individuals who receive electronics equipment DOA or equipment that has defects: every time you order any electronic device, please understand that there is a possibility it may be defective, this is the same for a $200 PC motherboard, or a $75,000 navigation computer for a helicopter.
- Other Thoughts: Initially thought that the motherboard was defective as the system did not boot on the first time. After a while of troubleshooting noticed that the default voltage settings for memory bays were set to much lower than what my memory modules actually required. Once set, system functioned as advertised. Always check any systems' "default settings" to save your troubleshooting time.

- Pros: You can pretty much do whatever you want as far as the bios settings, which is really cool. Also, I've never bought a motherboard and saw such an increase in performance, WITHOUT touching the settings. After playing with the settings I am very happy with this board.
- Cons: I had to take the heatsink that runs along the northbridge and southbridge and replace the thermal paste because originally it ran kinda hot. Not that big a deal though.
- Other Thoughts: As far as the fan on the northbridge, yes it does blow air on to the video card, but the air feels cool on mine...
XFX in general
- Pros: American techs
- Cons: Will not cross ship which means down time, extremely unstable chipset and compatibility issues.
- Other Thoughts: Worst motherboard I've ever owned in my life, XFX has lost my business until they can get their act together. Don't get my wrong the tech support is nice, it's nice to talk to an American but NVidia chipset is unstable and the lack of cross shipping when plenty of other manufacturers will cross ship has me quite upset. No cross ship means customer down time. EVGA cross ships and Intel cross ships, now I do too.
XFX, here's my payback to you for a pile of a motherboard.
