5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid Mobo

Pros: I wanted to try and offset some of the bad reviews that this motherboard is getting. There's one thing about this motherboard that really, really stands out from everything else and that is that it is a rock solidly reliable piece of equipment. I've been running this mobo almost 24 hours a day (also has SLI XFX GeForce 8800GTX running in it) since I built it maybe three or four years ago. I've been building computers nonstop since the 90's and let me tell you. I've never seen a motherboard run without ANY problems for such a length of time. Apparently there are some issues with it recognizing some higher end (for the socket type) processors, but I've never tried to throw anything too crazy at it. It's been running an AMD Phenom x3 just wonderfully. Every time I think about building a new computer for myself, I evaluate how well this one has been working (runs Diablo III great) and decide to save myself a grand and keep running on it because it's wonderful!

Cons: Nothing. I love this board and I love this brand.

Other Thoughts: I do agree with some other reviews that, yes, this is a bit more of an advanced setup board. Most novice users would probably be really thrown off by something like flipping a block of jumpers to override video out/input, but that's just how this thing is made. Know what you're doing and you'll be just fine.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's alright

Pros: still works after 14 months. It has decent features; 2 Separate BIOS chips, an 'okay' onboard GPU, HDMI outputs, its attractive, error code readout on the mobo, 4DIMM slots, HD audio, solid capacitors. I guess most of these things would be found on other motherboards though..

Cons: Lack of information/useful guide(some of the information on it was even incorrect), the SLI slot only supports x8 mode, non-AM3/125W+ and...Tech support wanting me to do some weird stuff to make my computer POST after a failed attempt to reflash my BIOS (which still doesnt work, so I only use my OC-BIOS now) they told me to take out my videocard/ram and gradually re-add it(as my computer wouldn't POST after the failed attempt to re-flash the BIOS) They did not know why my BIOS would not flash(flashwrite protection was off)

I was thinking about just buying a replacement BIOS chip, but I'll probably wait and just upgrade to a different board..

I was trying to flash my BIOS because some users were able to get the 95W version of the (AM3)Phenom II x4 945 to work on this mobo after an updated bios..
(I believe it was a bad BIOS version (v1.6)they released that caused the problem)

Other Thoughts: I believe I would have been more satisfied with a different product/manufacturer...

other info about my rig:
PNY 9600GT 512MB(Problematic/freezing issues, avoid it)
OCZ SLI-Edition 800MHz RAM 2 x 2GB(great)
AMD Phenom x4 9550 OC'd 2.5GHz(good)

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy XFX

Pros: Nice Layout

Cons: Board is JUNK. Tried to explain to Customer support my issues and they insist that my sapphire radeon 4870 vid card is the culprit. swapped it out to another machine of mine and it works fine. Also, this board is suppossedly compatible with the phenom II X4 processors (according to XFX's website), yet it will not recognize the chip

Other Thoughts: I work on computers quite a bit and have to say that I'm very disappointed in this product. I have my new Gigabite Mobo and memory coming today from Newegg. XFX refuses to stand behind their warranty! :-(

1 out of 5 eggsJUNK - Do Not Buy!

Pros: On Board Graphics are okay. If you are not interested in running anything fun or important.

Cons: Will not recognize Phenom II X4 810 Chip. No matter how many ways tech support had me go around this, it would not recognize my processor. Tried my old athlon 64 x2, no problem. Then, the PCI ports started croaking. XFX says that they will not warranty board, for I'm using video cards (sapphire) that are not XFX! Whaaattt!!!??? My video card works great in my other computer, so I know it's not the card that is causing the blue screen.

Other Thoughts: DON'T Buy XFX. They don't stand behind their product when it really comes down to it.

3 out of 5 eggsUpdated + Final Review for this XFX 750a SLI

Pros: Very attracive looking board. Nothing else. At first I gave this board a 5 egg rating, but it's final rating only deserves 3 eggs.
Tech support is good, they do try to answer your questions, etc. They even sent me an SLI bridge when it isn't even supplied in the box--- it doesn't need one, as later I found out the SLI function is governed by the manual jumpers on the board itself.

Cons: This board only functioned as a basic ECS board. It's very limiting in the fact that it supports a max CPU rating of 95 watts or less. It never would overclock the AMD x 4 core Phenom II 9550 95-watt cpu, even though the manual says it would---tech support advised me that "this board just may not overclock AMD cpu's, but heck, it's made for AMD cpu's, right?
There is a lot of research and testing needed to work this board out, even for experienced users. It's a guessing game most of the time. The quick start guide was good as best, which was easy enough to figure out. Not all of the USB's supports an illuminated keyboard, so yet another guessing game which USB port to use for that.

Other Thoughts: All in all, this board was not a bad (basic) motherboard. The on-board disply for codes is useless without a glossary of terms, even though the included chart on the DVD install disc listed them, it did no good.
I donated this board to a charity of my choice that recycles electronic equipment and products. It was time to get 'rid of this thing' after more than a year of dealing with it's basic, mediocre performance. I do belivve this will be the first and last XFX motherboard purchase I will ever make.
However, I have 1 XFX video card and it seems great--- this is XFX's strong point--their video cards.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: excellent mb if you know what your doing... trouble code readout quite useful. Sli works great along with the OC in Bios

Cons: Only manual is on disk but if you have more than one PC no problem

Other Thoughts: Don't see why so many people are having trouble... had the board for 10 months now and it runs great didn't have to send it back or anything booted right up after some tweaking to the bios
Newegg rocks!!!

5 out of 5 eggsVery Awesome Board

Pros: This MB was a bit of a challange, but in a good way. Everything on this motherboard, once understood, is awesome.

Cons: i only find it a bit strage that the actually User Manual is on the disk. if you dont have more then the computer your working on, its not very handy

5 out of 5 eggsNot a motherboard for the novice.

Pros: Excellent month board once researched and understood. The options for the price is a good bit of bang for the buck. I've had this board for a while now. I have got my money outta it for sure. The bios/cmos system is decent (wo0t lol) and easy to overclock with. The POST error system is great. Lots of great options with this motherboard. The SLI works great.

Cons: This motherboard is gonna take some reseach. The information sent with it isnt gonna help you much. I dont care much for the limited 95w cpu max (gonna max out on something like a phenom x4 9750) I dont suggest trying to OC non-black editions with this motherboard. Like I said in the title, this motherboard isnt for the novice builder, I suggest having a good bit of experience before messing with it. If you are experienced you should have little trouble.

Other Thoughts: I think this motherboard has caught some bad reps from novice builders who buy things thats arent "plug-in and play" enough for them then rate them bad because they have limited exp.

Bottom line... Great motherboard for the Pro builder thats low on cash.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MB if you know what you are looking for

Pros: SLI, great onboard graphics, error report display

Cons: Not very good for OC

Other Thoughts: This is my second review on this MB, I had to write the review again after I saw how many bad reviews this MB got. The support in my case was excellent, I RMA-ed the first MB after 2 months of use and I received the new one within a week and they responded the same day to all of my questions. Will recommend XFX products.

1 out of 5 eggsterrible terrible tech support

Pros: this board was nice and fast right out of the box, and worked flawlessly for about six months. While the manual was frankly incomplete, it was possible to install it with only minimal web searching.

Cons: as soon as I installed windows 7, the automatic updates downloaded a new nforce driver that seems to have caused random crashes that result in a corrupt CMOS. I assumed this was maybe the result of my bios being out of date, so I applied the BIOS from the xfx support site. It appeared to have flashed successfully, but is completely unable to boot and can't even draw a POST screen. Their ticket-based tech support is wretched -- they are incredibly slow to respond (on the order of days) and when they do, they are just copy pasting tech support blurbs without reading anything in my problem description. I will not buy XFX again.
